We have been 6 month on the training including off leash training. They really transform dogs to a humans. Everyone are amazed how well behaved our dog is. Not a single chewed item at all, even when he was teething! Highly recommended! Debbie is amazing trainer!

My typically very anxious dog Dumbo has improved since the very first day, he was even better within the first 10 minutes of our first session. In the beginning of the pandemic we decided to get a dog again. We had two midsize Yorkshires which passed from old age over the years. We found in May our Beau who is a mix of Sheltie and Australian Shepherd. I never had a mid size dog and wanted to make sure I do everything right with him to make him social with people and other dogs and listens when it counts! I took him to Canine for daycare where he got individual training by Debbie as Covid forbid class training. I am extremely happy I did. Beau is now 8 month old and very well trained for his age. We are in our 3rd obedience class which we hopefully finish before Christmas. Debbie helped me more than Beau doing the right things to make him a better dog and me a better dog mother. I recommend Canine Academy to everyone I meet.

Reviews are an excellent way of judging a business, I check them all the time but in the end they are an opinion and everyone has one. I have trained my dogs and also worked with Debbie for many years, she has worked very hard to maintain her excellent work ethic helping people help their dogs for around 50 years. Working with the public is not always easy, you can't please everyone all the time, as hard as you try there will be someone that won't be happy for some reason. I have watched Debbie work with some of the most aggressive dogs and the most shy dogs and somehow she manages to turn them around, it is not always an easy job but somehow she keeps her cool and gets the dog working for her almost like magic. One of the hardest jobs sometimes is getting the owners on board on how to work with their dogs, and unless you work with her and understand what she is trying to tell you, your results won't always be to your liking, it's up to you the owner to work with her to achieve good results. It's easy to go home and sit behind a key board and give a bad review. Before someone gives a bad review for any business they should explain to the owner why they are not happy and try to resolve the situation before you try and ruin someone's business with a bad review. I will let Canine Academy reviews speak for themselves, you will find most 5 Star reviews, that is amazing for someone in business for so many years. Your Dog is in good hands with Debbie.

After 3 months and countless frustrating, I'm happy to say DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE FOR BEHAVIRIOAL ISSUES. THEY WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE WHILE STEALING YOUR MONEY THEN BLAME YOU FOR IT NOT WORKING. They don't care about your dog, they only competition train. Every time I brought my dog back to the class I lost all progress I had made with a very easily terrified smaller dog. She didn't care he was terrified and couldn't pay attention because of it, and he suffered for it. I refuse to take my dog back there, so after almost 900$, I'm a little perturbed. Only had one class left too, but that trainer is a detriment to my pup. I wouldn't even except a refund at this point. Is rather use it as a down payment on a billboard that says "DOG ACADEMY of Penndel, Pa is INCOMPETENT". This has been my ted talk. c'est la vie

We do nosework with Lisa and it's great! My dog Dawson loves the class and the teacher, she sets up all different hides and sometimes we'll go to various locations for outside searches. 10/10 recommend!

Puppy obedience and basic training was really good. Advanced training was good as far as the private lessons, but was really disappointed in the group lessons. Advanced is mixed in with basic. Only thing different was that they have the dog heel to you and come without a lead. Didn’t feel we were given any solid direction even when we inquired about some issues that were starting to crop up. Our german shepherd definitely didn’t behave like an “advanced” graduate when we got our certificate. We ended up reaching out to our breeder who gave us the needed extra help we were looking for in only one visit. Doubt we will take any more classes with Canine Academy.

Canine academy is the best place around in the area and affordable. I went there 27 years ago and trained my first chow with Debbie. she was a very vicious dog till the day she died and I could walk her without a leash thanks to canine academy. I have now returned 27 years later with a different breed and I'm training with Shirley and she is awesome

Highly recommend. If you want your pup to live its best life, take them to Canine Academy in Penndel. They have great programs and trainers to teach you how to turn your animal into that perfect companion you've always wanted. Thanks to Debbie, Bob, and Carole for teaching us how to train our Guinness to get his AKC Canine Good Citizen title. We had a terrific experience and it was fun.

Took my Golden Ben there when he was 6 mos old. We trained with Debbie, who was awesome. This was quite a few years ago. We now have another rescue dog bet 2-3 y/o. He had a horrific past, and as soon as he gets settled in, I'm going to give Canine Academy a call.

Debbie is the "best" of trainers for all kinds of dogs and all types of training needs. I had a new puppy and wanted to train him to become a Therapy Dog. The training sessions were very well organized and well run. My dog changed almost immediately and became the best of companions and hopefully soon, the best of therapy dog ever!!!

I also want to add that Shirley has given us some great tips to use on our puppy. Something we were doing was using the crate only at bedtime, now we use it when we need a little time for ourselves. I used to feel very guilty putting our pup in the crate other then bedtime. Now I can enjoy a cup of coffee without having to worry about pup jumping up on my lap to investigate what mommy has. Well organized. Would recommend Canine Academy to anyone who needs help in training their puppy.

Debbie at Canine Academy has been amazing with teaching my boyfriend and I how to train/handle our dogs. Walks with our reactive dog used to be stressful, but with the tools and knowledge that Debbie has equipped us with, we look forward to walking around the neighborhood and hope to see a dog or two to try out Rosie’s new skills. The training has been such an amazing thing for us, and we noticed huge improvements, even after just the first lesson. We also bring our newer (non-reactive) dog in for basic obedience and we’re excited about the progress he is making. No matter how much research on dog training you do, nothing quite matches the amount you learn from in-person lessons from an extremely knowledgeable trainer. We’re excited to continue in obedience, and maybe nosework or agility! I can’t recommend Canine Academy enough.

Debbie McDonald is by far the "BEST" Local trainer this area has. I used her years ago for my German shepherd. A+. Her understanding of dogs is incredible and my dog listened to her more than me! Hands down the best and well worth every penny.Bob is A+++

Great dog training school. Been taking all the dogs I have own since 1980. 8 dogs total. All the dogs looked forward to go to school and love it. Check their website out, they have a lot of different classes starting with puppies.

We have been working with Debbie since October/November and have nothing but positive things to say! Never in my life could I even imagine that my dog could sit in close proximity with another dog and allow for me to shake a strangers hand but... last night that became reality. Our older dog was extremely reactive towards other dogs and people when we started this journey. Now he knows what we expect out of him behavior wise! She has taught us so much as handlers and our boys leave exhausted because they learn so much! Our dogs listen to us now and know to look to us for how to behave! The trainers are very passionate about working with you and your dog. They help simplify the process even with the most difficult dogs. They even include their own digs for some classes. They are just awesome to watch, listen to, and learn from.

TERRIBLE experience!!!! Trainer "S" was harsh and handled my 7 pound pup in a harsh manner. I canceled the rest of my classes and will look somewhere else for a trainer. Should not have even given them 1 star!
