We decided to go with Premier Hardwood Restorations after doing some comparisons in our area. We were quoted a little less than the cost to have the “Mercedes Benz” of luxury vinyl plank installed in about 1200 square feet and laid over top of our stairs. Being able to upgrade to actual hardwood floors over vinyl plank for about the same price is an easy decision to make. Since we are a little handy, Derek worked with us on a price to do some work on our own so he could take care of removing a Pony wall and installing beautiful framing with different wood around our fireplace.Derek was honest and upfront about the timeframes and expectations, even when unexpected situations arose that were out of everyone’s control. We liked that we didn’t have to be married to a stain or color and got to see different stains on the floor before making a final decision. It felt more like a collaboration when we discussed the wood type and quality, our subflooring, stain and coating types, aftercare, and even incorporating other aspects of the house to our new floors. We took one of Derek’s suggestions for a project after the floors were completed and it worked out great!Although it would have been a shorter timeframe for a team of people to come out and install luxury vinyl plank, we know that the care and effort Derek and Premier Hardwood Restorations put into our floors was of the highest standards and excelled any suggested professional installation guidelines or requirements. We are confident that the quality, look, and long term costs have greatly exceeded any of the other options we considered.

Derek did a beautiful job on our home. He removed old flooring and installed white oak, site finished, and cleaned up thoroughly. There was truly no dust and he communicated throughout the process. We love our new floors!

Derek did an awesome job restoring our 67 year old hardwood floors. He is very knowledgeable of hardwood. We had no dust from sanding and very little from sawing. He repaired our floors where we had removed a wall and feathered in new wood to where you cannot notice the repair. We just had our 100 year old floors refinished by Derek and he did a stellar job from the beginning to the end. He took no shortcuts and the floors looks as close to perfect as they can get. He worked with us and listened to our needs and was honest with us in terms of what was feasible/unfeasible. In fact, we chose Derek because of his straightforward manner of speaking and honesty. I had Derek come in to evaluate my hardwood floors and he gave me suggestions on what he thought was the best. I can tell you that he was spot on!. He did exactly what he said he would do and was right on schedule. He did an awesome job. I can't say enough about how much I like the floors. I come home each night after work and it just puts a smile on my face to walk on the refinished floors. If I could give me that 5 stars I would. If any of you are like me, you may be apprehensive about hiring someone to come into your home to perform any type of construction. My obsessive compulsive disorder needs structure, and details about everything so hiring the right fit was important to me; Derrick was that right fit.This young man is a herculean force. He came into my home, and made my sixty year old hard wood floors look new again. Now, I had to wait three months to have my hardwood floors restored, and I assure you, I would wait all over again. Derrick was available from start to finish explaining all of the steps of my floor restoration along the way, and I couldn't be more happier. He was, and is well worth the wait. Beautiful, beautiful!!But, I will let you decide.

Derek restored my worn-out hardwood floors to look like new. I also needed some patching done and he did it beautifully. You can't even tell where the flor was patched. Derek's work is impeccable. He is a perfectionist. His work was also very clean. There was little to no dust residue left behind. Just beautiful floors2 years later I needed to match the stain for a small threshold where I had removed the closet. I reached out to Derek for the stain and without me even telling him he remembered the stain I used for my floor and provided the amount I needed at no charge. Excellent customer service.

We purchased a home that had some UV damage to the hardwood floors in multiple areas. Derek worked with us to get us scheduled quickly and was very understanding when we needed to move our date as we would not have the floors ready for him to work on in time. Once he started the project he kept us updated the whole way and finished timely and our floors look brand new. Will definitely hire again for any future projects!

We've used Derek 3 times now and every time he has done fantastic work! First job was our previous home - pulled up parquet flooring in entry & replaced with red oak boards, added transition, sand and refinish entire first floor. His attention to detail was great and we loved his suggestion for the transition between the new & old woods so they didn't look out of place. Be sure to follow his directions afterwards, especially if getting an oil poly. We didn't listen and put a rug down too quickly, which discolored the floors upon moving it (completely our fault). We also used him to put down some new hardwood flooring in a rental unit. He (reluctantly) was able to lay this in the same direction as the previous layer with us signing a waver since this isn't recommended....and it's held up great with no issues! Our latest job was a stair refinishing in our current house. While we thought the staircase was historic to match the house, Derek was able to tell that it was new pine treads and advised us accordingly on color and poly options to get the look we were hoping for. He recommended an oil poly to get the warm orange tones we were hoping for, rather than his standard water poly. I really appreciated his recommendation as we love them already! His instructions at the completion of the job were very clear and he even gave separate ones for our dogs so we didn't scratch it right away. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Derek to others or use him again!

We recently bought our home and hired Derek based on his excellent reviews. We were not disappointed! Derek came in and made our older, pre-fab wood floors with "tan lines" look brand new. He fixed boards that had endured a water leak and made the transitions between our rooms look seamless and beautiful! Fixing those transitions was an addition to the overall job, and we are so happy he was willing to add that in as they look amazing! He patiently answered all of our questions, gave his professional opinion on stains and finishes, and did a fantastic job with all of it. We felt safe with him being in our home while we were gone. Loving our new floors! We hired Derek to refinish our upstairs floors, and then our entire downstairs a few months later. He was very kind and helpful throughout the process. Helped us understand which floors would take light vs dark stain better, and explained the process so we understood what was happening. We just hired Derek back a second time to finish the other half of our house! We have original hardwood oak floors from the 1940s. Some had already been refinished and some were covered in carpet. We hired Derek early last year to refinish our entire second floor (four bedrooms and a hallway), and we loved them so much that we hired him back to do our staircase and downstairs wood floors to match. Derek is very fair on pricing, very transparent, completely honest and answered our endless questions. He is extremely upfront, honest, and transparent about things, especially with our downstairs floors being in such rough shape. We 100% recommend! Premier Hardwood Restorations transformed our hardwoods into floors we love and are proud to call our own! When we realized our floors were pine, Derek suggested a specialty finish that would protect them for years to come. He worked with us to mix a custom stain color that was exactly what we wanted. And, at our request, he divided our project into two phases so we could move furniture within the house rather than clearing it all out of the house, making the entire process much easier than we originally anticipated.
