Purchased a box of magnum ammunition Christmas present. Gun doesn’t shoot magnum ammunition tried to return less then 24 hours later. Salesman told me it’s company policy they do not allow return of ammunition because people switch the bullets within the box. First time shopper at this chain and it will be my last.I’m not a gun enthusiast and wouldn’t have known the pistol doesn’t chamber magnum rounds.

They would not allow me to assess the safe function of a revolver before purchase.I explained to them exactly what I wanted to check for and that the trigger lock would have to come on and order to ensure that the firearm was in safe working order. The salesman said they do not do check for these basic functions of a revolver. Also that the lock can not come off until after purchase. Then he tried to reverse what he said and said they do chrck these things even though he just said they do not.Dont buy a gun from a place, that stops you from doing basic function checks, like Dunham's.

Easy returns, great choices in footwear, there was a younger man who was of great assistance and checked back on me a few times in my decision making of my new footwear. I ended up with 2 pair of sneakers and a pair of hiking shoes. I'm ready to walk, hike and hit the gym. I'm very pleased.

Didn't know about this place till recently went in there and had a good selection of product I was amazed at the amount of guns and ammo that the store carried plus a large selection of survival and camping gear definitely have to make her stop back sometime soon they have some great deals that go on on the weekend also if you need stuff in the sporting good category this would be a great place to look for it I definitely what satisfied with the associate that helped me and my friend look around

We were there to spend at least $300 for my sons birthday present and were very rudely ignored by staff and the manager in duty after we hunted then down and personally asked for their assistance with an item. Manager told us he would look for the item we wanted to buy in the stock room.... 40 minutes later we left o ly to find the same manager in the parking lot collecting shopping carts!!! He never planned on helping us.

Made this review a few months ago and picked up another firearm the other day. The staff was even better with their assistance than the first time around. 5+ stars. I shop there regularly but with big purchases I can honestly say it was the most positive shopping experiences I’ve ever had. Thank you Dunham’s!!Edit: May 2020. Went again and the staff could not be friendlier. Excellent job

The place is fantastic , it’s huge with tons of stuff to choose from the only problem is when I got to check out I couldn’t complete my transaction because there system doesn’t recognize my chime cards . ThT has never happened before and I’ve been with my bank since 2020 I was very surprised that chime wouldn’t be recognized

went from having a horrible experience at another store to a very pleasant one at this store. I called ahead to see if they had the gun I wanted to buy in stock. the man on the phone checked and told me they had two left. he asked if it was for a gift and started to explain why he asked. I said I know I will need to bring my son to purchase it. he said ok then we'll see you soon. I got to the store and found the gun counter unattended. I walked back up front and asked for help. he also asked if I knew about the owner of the gun would have to sign for it. I said yes. he said he would send someone back to help me. I could not be more greatful to the man that helped me. he explained what I was buying, offered knowledge about other products in the store and even tried to ease my fears about purchasing a gun. he explained different gun types, ammunition, what they were used for typically, the entire history of what they had that I might be interested in. he was extremely polite and very helpful. I decided on a gun and we went to the front of the store to put it on layaway. the female cashier yes also very polite and helpful and just helped add to the experience for me. I walked in the doors upset and apprehensive. I walked out with a smile and a layaway receipt for my sons gift.very satisfied with the service and stock and eternally greatful to some wonderful employees who turned my night from bad to good. thank you!

The Manager Kerri and the Associate Larry were fantastic. They were very patient and really helped me find The Iron Golf Club set that I wanted. They were currently out of them but located them available at another store. Also not only did they help find them. They actually brought them back to the Pottsville Location which was easier for me to get them from. Highly recommend this store! Glad to have one close to home.

I messed up paperwork to buy a gun, and was told I couldn't try again for 2 weeks. I went back today, almost 3 weeks later, with my sister to get a gun. I was told right away no when I explained why I was there. I told the man it's been 3 weeks, and he (being the one who told me I couldn't come back until after 2 weeks) said I still couldn't get one. My sister tried to ask about her buying a gun and selling one of her old ones to me, and the man refused to allow her to buy any. My sister and I were going to go somewhere else, but I wanted to let a manager know about how we were treated. He's the manager of the firearms. He comes up, leans on a shelf and just looks at us. I ask to speak to a different manager, and explain what had happened all the while trying not to cry from how embarrassed I was. The two gentleman before me were given upmost respect and patience but I was shut down immediately and made to feel like an imbecile. I just got my conceal carry permit from the courthouse 45 MINUTES before I came to Dunhams. I understand there are company policies but to have someone blatantly refuse to help me or sell me a gun when I followed the "legal" way to acquire one is, I can't even think of the right word. Never coming in again, neither is my family, or my friends. My sister thinks it's because we were young women, but I honestly don't know if that's why we were treated the way we were. Hopefully my situation will be a lesson and no one else will have the same experience.

Employees were super friendly, plenty of the item in which I bought was in stock. Both registers were open. Store floor was clean although stuff was jammed everywhere. Very little room to walk between racks.

I really like Dunham's stores but this one is very disorganized. Today it was hard to find the shoes we wanted because they were in a separate section of the store (not in the shoe dept). Only one employee out of the 10 we saw around the store asked if I needed help finding anything. Some of the others were talking between racks about personal things not related to work.Would I go back? Yes if I needed something badly enough or they had a great deal. Would I recommend this store? Maybe. I wouldn't hold the actions of a few against the rest who were actually working.

guy with long hair and glasses kinda a dīck, attitude for no reason. Easily could have been nicer but decided to be a WAP. Better off going to Shakey's or Cabela's instead of this place for your needs. Saves you the headache of dealing with a gobbler

I always get a good deal on sportswear here. I love the sweatshirts, athletic pants. Recently bought an awesome raincoat for a fabulous price. My only complaint is the women's footwear selection is really poor. Just one or too options for hiking shoes/boots and running shoe options are fair to middling. Everything is geared towards fashion, not functionality for women.

Why would you advertise something that you don't even have! circular just came out Sunday for gun sale Sunday and Monday. I rushed up 1st thing Monday morning and the shelves are all empty! Even the gun that was advertised in the weekender! Why would you advertise for something that you don't even have before the circular came out!

A great place to go if you want to over pay, get frustrated by under trained staff, and not have anyone to help you when you need it. If you expect any kind of value, quality or assistance though dont bother .. take the drive to Cabelas instead.

Go elsewhere. Extremely High Prices! $80 for the same life jacket you can get for $20 at walmart. unhelpful and unknowledgable staff. I've gone 3 times to look for something and found they either didn't have it or the price was 3 or 4 times the same item is somewhere else. So go somewhere else. Don't waste your time stopping here.The app sucks too. You can't do anything at all unless you sign up and login so they can carpet bomb you with spam emails and push notifications for "deals", "sales", and coupons of which the only money you save is on Dunham's prices them selves. Even with a sale and coupon their ridiculous prices are beaten by at least half what Dunham's is asking 4 miles down the road at walmart.It's great they brought a store here but if they don't realize New York City prices don't sell anything here they're not going to last long. Maybe we'll get a theater and arcade back when they close!

Dunhams slips my mind often when I am looking for outdoor equipment, but frankly I love it more than Cabelas! Prices are way better and I almost always find what I am looking for.

One word, pathetic! Shelves are empty throughout store. The only dept. stocked is the firearms. BUT NO AMMUNITION. All in all a totalWaste of time.

Extremely helpful staff. As a female, I often run into hunting department sales people who talk down to me but all the outfitters went out of their way to get me set up with a new crossbow.
