Self check out experience is awful 9/10 times! Cashiers never work or too many people waiting for them and the only way to buy something is self checkout. People working at that spot ALWAYS with attitude and they are like spying on you! It makes me uncomfortable! And reading other reviews also prove my point.I told myself not to go there any longer, but sometimes i don't have other choice. Such overpriced supermarket should have better service!

I was just perusing to find what I need to get and I just got eyes. I felt so judged and watched there. I don’t know if they are racist there or just plain ugly people. They need to keep cliental not lose it just by walking in. HORRIBLE!! And after seeing the reviews I don’t feel like the only one. Don’t try to comment back y’all need to get it together. Hate never wins. Jesus always Loved.

As another reviewer said, I feel like I'm being watched like a hawk when I use the self checkout. Very unnerving. Besides that, the prices tend to be higher in general than other stores and the staff are generally unfriendly. I also had one cashier literally stand and do nothing while making me bag my own groceries. Not that I mind helping but it was a small order and he just refused to bag them for me. I only go to this store when absolutely necessary.

Well, horrible service! So called "manager" rude! Not to mention prices are 2-3$ more expensive than giant target ect... overpriced everything and when u clip "coupons " they barely work. Ugh learn how to work with the customers!

I love how they were watching my every move at the check out register while everyone else that’s a different shade of skin tone can peacefully check out with no problem! Won’t be returning. Hope that you guys can do better!

Very good large market. Good meat and good meat prices. Good Pharmacy especially for vaccines. Excellent meat counter service. Had lots of water during shortage. Pharmacy is perfect place to get vaccines. Meat department is the best. Customer service was lame multiple times.

5 stars alone for having a Starbucks and a beer store inside I mean you can get everything you need. My dogs love the chicken from the hot bar. It's never super crowded either so parking is good.

Horrible experience at the ACME at Newtown recently. My husband and I both have ACME memberships. We received an email about a free cola and clipped the coupon on our cell phones. While we purchased $50+ groceries, we grabbed two bottles of that cola. While we were doing self-checkout separately, the horrible female staff stared at us and treated us like thieves, yelling at us: "one item per household!". I am very unsatisfied with her attitude and grabbed a cola to check out at a cashier. Cannot believe, that horrible woman followed me and keep on saying "One household one item, that's it, she is done! Blah, Blah...". Come on! we are not stealing! it is just s bottle of cola! And ACME send out these types of coupons to lure customers to their store to purchase more! We spent thousands of dollars at ACME per year, not just for getting this bottle of cola! Also, we did not know "one item one household". Where is the limit policy, it is not showing on the coupons! If you want to warn your customers, can you pay attention to your attitude?! Or are you discriminating because of our colors? Where is the customer service policy at ACME? Horrible staff should be fired!McCaffrey's, Giant, and ShopRite have much better customer service. Avoid this ACME at all!

I was only in this Acme briefly but it was clean, well organized, wide aisles to move your cart through with ease which is critical for me. I went to the pharmacy for a friend and the employees were efficient and pleasant and gave me what I came for without any problem which I greatly appreciated. My only complaint would be the ridiculous parking lot attached to the front of the store. Who designed that?

Called here about a concern, the man I spoke to was incredibly rude to me. When he attempted to transfer me and I went back to the front, a woman answered and all I heard was him complaining about me in the background. I wasn’t rude or mean, I just had a concern and he didn’t have an answer which was fine. But the way he treated me was very rude. Sorry to the man I spoke to, I sure hope your life gets better so you don’t have to be so rude to people you don’t even know.

I purchased Acme's (48 West Rd, Newtown, PA) advertised strip steak special on Feb. 2, 2022 for the next night's dinner. The steaks were prepared rare to medium rare and served. Dinner became a flavorless chewing contest won by the steak for most bites. I could hear the crunch through the tissue with every movement during chewing. Not being an happy camper, I salvaged the receipt and kept the package label and on my next trip to do banking across from the street, I stopped at the Acme Customer Service desk to share our experience and to inquire about consideration. I was denied consideration with a manor of fact response and felt disrespected. I was told that the product would need to be returned with all of the packaging. Then asked if we had eaten the steaks ... I responded yes as that was dinner. I was told that I should have immediately "impounded the meat" to bring back. My option was to start over and prepare something else for dinner or we could have gone to bed hungry that night. Since we ate the meat there was nothing he could do ... sorry! My product was next to meat labeled "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" I wonder what that means. I shook my head and walked to the self checkout with the items in my cart. At least now readers of this review will be aware of their policy requirements.

Food and grocery prices have obviously gone up everywhere, and Acme is no exception. But I do find that they seem to have a pretty good selection and most things like their meats are nice cuts and pretty fresh.I definitely go here for meats and produce, may be a smaller chain for dry goods which it isn’t as important and have a longer shelf life.

ACME frequently has items that I need that Giant is out of. Price sometimes a bit higher but readily available. Checkout and Customer Service folks always helpful and friendly. Meat dept. still cuts to order and meat cut in store is very good and meat dept. folks are helpful. I shop the meat sales and use my freezer so I can have what I like at sale prices.

Pharmacy: This is a review of the pharmacy not the ACME store. We are new to the area. Unfortunately I fill quite a few prescriptions each month. I went to the CVS just two blocks from my house to ask about transferring prescriptions and the women in the consult area gave me a short story on everything they would no do for me. Bothered and frustrated I looked at the on-line reviews for another pharmacy nearby. I found the ACME pharmacy was nearby and saw what seemed to be a possible shining star. They had strong reviews? So off I went not expecting much but needing to feel comfortable my transition in prescriptions could be handled without a worry. What a great team of dedicated staff I found. After the pharmacist walked me through the easy steps to assure everything would either be transferred or a new script would be requested, I felt I could check this task off the list. The pharmacist even compared several of my drug brands to assure I would get the same manufacturer. After taking some of these drugs for quite some time, I have found there is differences in substitutions scripts. After talking drugs I mentioned to the pharmacist that they weren't my first choice in pharmacies. When I explained my CVS experience, the pharmacist smiled and said " well ACME got me from CVS and I'm glad I came. So far this has been a really nice experience. I passed the CVS twice today. No I didn't stop. I will use their grass to walk my dog though.

Although this supermarket appears very nice and neat, the staff at their customer service, especially the one in charge, was insensitive and somewhat rude to the Baby Formula food crisis. When I called them the person I spoke with was fairly nice. However, upon my arrival there the treatment was totally different. If it was up to them, I would have left empty handed. This is the first and last time I will visit their branch as long as that arrogant lady still works there. Shame!!!

I try to only come here when I need to pick something up real quick. Some of the employees are rude, and the customers are the worst. They just block the aisles and then stare at you as if it's an insult that you need to get past. Or people just walk right in front of you, with their carts, and stop.

Very disappointing when you get to the hot food counter at 510 and there is not a chicken tender to bring home for my children ,and I'm told there was a person 15 minutes before me that bought 2 pounds of them and that's all there making . It's dinner time . I can understand if I arrive at 7 or 8 . Which I have and there are none . But it's 510 . Frustrating . When I asked if there is more they said no were shorthanded and won't be making anymore. Disappointing.

It's a huge supermarket and most things that you could want are sold there. Their fruit and vegetables section is comprehensive and their prepared food is good as far as supermarket food goes. We had some crispy fried chicken and tenders. They have some good deals too, $5 seems to be their favorite number. It was hard not to get the donuts. Overall it's not as fancy as a whole foods but its comprehensive enough to be the only place you have to go.

I shop here all the time. The workers are freindly and always help. Lines move quickly and everything is always in stock. The store is kept clean and plenty of carts to use without problems!

Typical Acme, but with a Starbucks inside. Cheap Fried Chicken on Mondays is worth it. Rest of the proces at Acme are higher compared to other food stores. Sometimes you can get a good deal on the 10 for $10 but most of the other prices are higher.Store is clean and spacious. Good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Plus beer and wine selection is decent.

Never had a problem here. Has everything you could need including beer. They also keep the place pretty clean too.The only thing that drives me bonkers about this place is how the store is arranged. I end up having to go down every cramped aisle to find items I'm looking for. It's impossible for the average person to see the signs for each aisle since they're so far away. I also end up nearly bumping into several people since a lot of the corners are blind corners.

I went to the one in Newtown, PA. One of the most comprehensively stocked super markets I’ve ever had the pleasure to patronize. But the customers are some of the rudest I’ve ever known, zooming their carts where they want to go, ignoring that you might be in their path. They just keep coming, like they’re aiming at you, to force you to jump out of their way. I lived in fast paced Manhattan, and never saw any rudeness this extreme.

The Store layout is confusing and I can never find what I need. Always Giant displays of junk food weeks before any holiday (started seeing the Halloween candy in September) and which crowd out the middle aisle. The green and brown paint on the ceiling and walls is depressing and un inviting. They have plenty of registers but never enough cashiers. The prices are expensive and the quality and brands are so-so. 2 stars for the girl that stocks the frozen food and the woman who gave me my flu shot.

I have done the grocery pickup from Acme and Giant and let me tell you that the Acme staff is way better!!!! They go out of their way to text and ask you if you want replacement items and suggests alternatives. For a few more bucks I will continue with Acme - and they are Union. A+++++ service. Thank you!

Met an extremely helpful employee at the frozen food veggie section this morning. She was stocking the freezer. She went out of her way to assist me with a spinach recipe . I'm just sorry that I didn't get her name. She was exceptional.
