First the remodel is beautiful. Staff amazing as always.I miss the amazing amount of books this store used to have. The selection is very small now. I hope they are able to stock it better again as time goes.

An adorable and welcoming local and independent bookshop. It re-opened after four months of undergoing renovations on April 29, 2023. The staff is very friendly and is more than willing to help you out if you have questions. If you want to support the shop and will only be in town for a one-time visit or are only visiting every once in a while, I recommend calling the bookshop in advance and seeing if they have they have the book you are looking for in advance. If not, they can order it for you so it will be there when you visit. The bookshop does have a children's and young adult section. It also carries journals, stationary, stickers, and other gift items. It is an LGBTQIA2s+ friendly environment.

This is such a cute bookstore. We visited at night and it was raining, so it was definitely an aesthetic. The front desk person was so nice and we really appreciated how they were open until late. I do wish the bookstore had more variation in genres, which is why it’s four stars instead of five!

Love the fact that there are still independent bookstores such as this one. The big online retailers simply can't replace the intimate and friendly environment that this place provides.

I have to start by saying I’m a big reader and love to support independent bookstores. I enjoy sharing them on my social media platforms. I was excited to come here. I was disappointed. I never thought I’d say that about a book store. I walked in and said a cheerful good morning and the staff didn’t even acknowledge me. So rude. Not a big selection at all and even some of the popular authors were missing. They had 6, yes 6, copies of one authors book and nothing else. Lots of open space that could be filled. As I walking out it was then they asked if I needed anything. I’m good thanks…

Great eclectic bookstore with a wonderful selection. It"s the kind of bookstore where you could browse for hours.

My favorite bookshop in the world. I drive from Scranton to New Hope regularly to shop there and every single Bukowski title I own, I've purchased at Farley's. (I won't buy my Buk anywhere else!)

Displays book on Mid-century German Philosophy right in their window. How an independent book shop can be so divisive and still exist is beyond me. Their Late Pandemic mask policy is indicative of their division.

Friendly and helpful staff and a fantastic and unique assortment of books, cards and gifts. A gem in New Hope and so nice to still have a store that sells books! The book I was looking for was not in stock so the staff ordered it and it arrived quickly. It was nice to receive a personal call rather than an e-mail or text that the book was in. Positive experiences from start to finish!

Clean, parking on street (busy), pleasant staff. There are a few places to get books in the area, but this seems to be a staple for residents, so you might be able to find an eclectic item for your own consumption.

We stop in every time we're in New Hope to help out independent bookstores, but they could use some lessons in customer service. They have seemed almost surly the past couple times we've been there. Maybe we've just been coming there at a bad time...?

This is not the first time we have been in this gem! Great book store, ambience, selection, allowed my puppy to browse with us bc we had him in a stroller. Always a must stop when visiting New Hope with my son from Florida!!!

A recent visit to this establishment was both useful and a walk down memory lane. I used to buy books here a lot in high school and as an undergrad English major at university. Returning to the area after years of living out of state often includes a stop in at our favorite bakery down the street. This time I wanted to grab a couple of books for our kids too. Nothing has really changed. They still have their little frequent buyer program, which my Mom is still enrolled in. Keep up the good work guys!

Best in the world. We visit every single time we’re in New Hope. This is a really special place for readers. The staff recommendations are always keen and thoughtful. The collection of books is a treasure trove.

Farley's Bookshop is, hands down, my favorite bookshop.Nestled in New Hope, Pennsylvania it is a destination in town that I will not leave New Hope without visiting. The collection of books available there is interesting and something new and different always catches my eye.It is pleasing to know that this is a place where small publishers can stand cover to cover with the "big guys".The staff is knowledgeable and only too happy to track something down for you and order it if you can't find a precise item on their shelves.I especially enjoy listening to the staff comment, intelligently, on the queries of customers.Shop here or just browse- Farley's is worth the visit!

My favorite bookstore since 1982. Wonderful, eclectic selection ranging from best sellers to local authors. They will order anything and it arrives promptly! If you love books, don't miss Farley's bookstore.

Farley's is one of the cute little bookshops that are becoming harder and harder to find. It reminds me of the "The Shop Around the Corner" in the movie "You've Got Mail".Here you'll find a very friendly staff along with a great selection of books that includes a nice secondhand section as well. If they don't have the title you're looking for, they're more than happy to order it in for you.All said, it's exactly the store you'd hope and expect to find in New Hope. It's completely worth the visit.

Great place with a large selection of classic books. They manage to cram a lot in a small space which is ideal for a bookstore. In addition to books, they sell records for anyone collecting vinyl (myself included.) If you're in New Hope it's a must stop location!

New Hope's independent book seller is a true gem. You never know what you'll find here, including well-contented kitties resting amidst the volumes of cool books. What a great place!

This is probably my favorite place in all of New Hope. I love to read, and I was delighted to see some of my favorite author's books there. Huge variety, and the cat behind the counter was a great touch to the feel of the place.

A nice, independent bookstore that sells both new and used books as well as some vinyl. Added bonus, they have a bookstore cat, or at least they did when I was there. I'm obsessed with digging through used books, and prices looked good from what I saw. Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely make a quick stop to see what they've got.

The reality is that the era of brick and mortar book stores has come and gone. In this day and age, unless a book is a brand new release or had a limited printing, you can find a used copy on Amazon for literally one penny plus $3.99 shipping. Thus it is so that places like Farley's, charging cover prices for their books, are not affordable to most people no matter how much they might like to support their local indie book shop. It's sad because the staff here are all incredibly friendly. If you do pass by, take a look at the back room where many used books have great discount prices.

Bigotry has no place in a business peddling books. It is shameful that this place censors books that do not feed their agenda. Their narrow views should be just that, theirs. As a book seller, it is expected that you would revere the written word and free exchange of thought. You do not. This place carries no Trump or conservative authors, that I could see, other than those preaching hate against our president and, by extension, our country. Very sad in a town proudly tolerant of our differences. Shame. Purchase your books at a more thoughtful, intelligent bookshop, not here.

This a wonderful independent bookstore, with exceptionally knowledgeable and thoughtful staff (including at least one published author). Notably, I usually can get a book just as quickly through Farley's as through Amazon, without paying the postage. Farley's also has a very generous "frequent buyers" bonus. Responding to another post, the only alleged or arguable "rudeness" by Farley's staff that I know of (and I am there quite often) has been occasioned by shoppers using the shop to scan bar codes so they can order the books on line rather than supporting an independent store. Good riddance to those "customers."

Nice bookstore. Horrendous customer service.Had a hard time finding what I was looking for so, I asked one of the young guys working there this past Sunday afternoon (short light brown wavy hair, freshly pierced ear, teen/early 20's). Here's a bit of advice, kid. If a customer is looking for something specific, don't walk away after they ask you a question about the section they're in. HELP THEM. You weren't busy and neither was the store however, you made it clear that you weren't interested in being there OR helping me. Further, you can smile and say "thank you" when a customer makes a purchase. You are not helping the Shop Small movement, so please learn how to have a conversation, or find another gig that puts a smile on your face. Either would help humanity and the Universe will thank you in return. Peace.

At first I was amazed on how much of a safe space it was and was so happy to know that they refuse to carry books that support the bad orange man. However, I still felt triggered because I still saw his face (even though it was a book that is mocking him) I was so startled and was literally shaking so I ran out of the store, crying. I was glad that the store censors those wrong opinions, but Orange Man's face is still bad.

Bought a cookbook there. After purchase, saw a small index card saying they intentionally do not carry Pro-Trump books. #censorship! Sells books on Che Guevarra but nothing pro Trump? Marketplace of ideas? Not ! Wish I had not spent my hard-earned money there !!!!

One of the last remaining true small town bookshops. There's a great kids and YA section, as well as a large cooking/dining section. The staff is knowledgeable and if they don't have what you're looking for they'll order it and it comes in only a few days.

This is one of my favorite bookstores next to the one in Doylestown. Cute, small and cozy with friendly service. If you want a book and they don't have it they will go out of their way and order it for you! Oh and their cat is so cute!

Book shops should be places of intellectual exploration and promote free thought. I have no problem with their little "We hate Trump" section, but to have a sign proudly claiming they refuse to carry books with any alternate ideology seems narrow minded and hypocritical.
