Had issues with them charging me $80 for teeth on a stump grinder that they told me were already worn before I left. Never went over all the teeth in detail with me before I left but told me I had a broken one upon bringing it back. I was told I’m good to go and won’t be getting charged anything because a and r covers 3 for free. Next morning I got a call saying 8 teeth were damaged and that I must have used it in the dirt and hit rocks. I have pictures to prove I dug around the stumps as told to do by employees there. They charged my card for the teeth that needed to be replaced. Bank approved my dispute and got my money back. I think they were just trying to get one over on a customer to help cover the cost of wear items. Should have known better as to why they were so much cheaper. Be careful renting equipment from this company. Employees were not friendly to deal with.

The employees are very friendly. There is a lot of items in this store for a variety of projects you want to conquer. If it wasn't for me using my Google maps I would have never have known this store was back there.

Was in White Haven and needed a bag of Sakrete. Walked up to the girl and was told to go to Building services 10' away. Waited 10 minutes for someone to get off the phone. I told the man what I wanted and he wrote a number on a piece of paper and told me to go back to the girl. After she was done talking she checked me out and told me to go across the yard to the yard office. I waited 15 minutes before someone came over. Should have went to Lowes.

Great helpful staff. They carry just about everything you would need. Prices are higher than the big box stores but if you consider gas prices, they are sometimes worth buying there.

You'll enjoy your experience with great and knowledgeable staff & reasonable prices as long as you don't get any help from the "rental guy" who I was told is also THE OWNER. He should stay in an office and away from the public. He's rude, condescension to customers and sees to genuinely hate when customer's as questions. For this reason, I will NOT go back there. He alone made my experience miserable. If he responds to this review, I expect him to say the way he treats people is just fine, accept respect for nothing. No matter to me. I'm not going back there. Just wanted to warn everybody else.

The staff are great. They are helpful, and they provide direction on projects. The owner is an a*s though. He's rude, and acts like he is doing you a favor when you shop at his store. It's more expensive than major DIY retailers, so I'm not sure why the owner acts the way he does. However, A&R is convenient, so he stays in business despite the owner's lack of business acumen. My suggestion, unless you're picking up a small plant, drive 15 minutes north on 81, and have a better experience.

Staff is fantastic. They will help you get what you need. You may pay a few more dollars than you would at the big box stores, but you'll make that back by getting the right stuff the first time. If you want any mill work where precision matters at all, go here....not the big box.

I would give zero, if it was possible. Went to buy a plumbing part and was told they could not sell it for the price they had posted on the rack. Guess the don't understand the value of repeat business. Won't spend another dime there and will make sure not to us a contractor if they plan on using them. I'll drive another 10 minutes to give my money to someone else who gets it.

I needed a replacement head cap for my dewalt trimmer. I learned they don’t sell the $3 replacement cap, I need to purchase the $25 auto-fed string cap. No problem, they said it will be 7-10 business days. I called back for the status after 3 weeks. After being on hold for 10 minutes they said ‘it might arrive in 7-10 business days. But they can’t promise it will even come in’. So I paid the $25 for the replacement part and it might come in? I explained how i needed it for my business and the associate said if I needed it that bad I should just buy a new trimmer. As a small business, I can’t afford to buy a new $250 piece of equipment when a $3 part breaks. I understand the pandemic is disrupting shipping on a lot of things, but saying “it might come in, it might not. Buy a totally new one if you need it that bad” is extremely rude and unprofessional.I try to shop local whenever I can. And there are a lot of nice people that work here (Marcus G. is exceptional!). But there are some rude people here that will ruin it for the others.

Terrible. The manager actually came outside and said this isn’t Home Depot, you can’t pick through the 2x4s. You have to take some bad ones. I didn’t pay for lumber that looks like a dogs leg, why should I have to take the stuff that’s no good? I only needed a dozen. It’s not like I was picking through the whole pile.

Some of the employees seemed very stressed and or annoyed. Like they are doing you a favor. They are very pricey..example: Minwax wood filler Home Depot $12 A&R $16. They know people in their area really don't want to drive 9 miles to Home Depot ,and A&R takes full advantage of that fact.

Its an ok hardware store they actually do have most items there. Most of the staff is really good. Few sour apples mostly inside workers too. Asked few workers for help most gave help but quickly when a employee Mark came over explained the differences in sealer that i needed and was thrilled cause i almost left. Thanks again!

I use A&R all the time because its local for me and they have just about everything that you are looking for at decent prices. The staff is always very helpful and kind unlike lowes more similar to home depot where they have some knowledge. A&R staff are pros in all areas so its a wonderful place to get advice on projects. They can walk you through anything you want to do or build. Its kind of like having family in the store.

They don't stock many sale items. The girl at the check out played dumb to asking where to find the items we were looking for. The gentleman at the back desk said they ordered in 2 of the items we were looking for and someone bought both of them. (What is keeping them in business?)

Bunch of thieves be careful in renting any equipment. Rented a floor sander the owner (john) charged me 53 extra for not using the pads were perfectly fine every body else is good except. There is nothing wrong with pads. When i try o reason with him he was threatening me that he will charge more you keep on arguing with me. Since he has imprint of my credit card. I would never go there and spend a dime in that place.

I'm a local Contractor / Handyman and prefer to do business with A&R over the big box stores. Most of the time they have what I need, they are patient with me and helpful on the phone when I call to check on the availability and prices of the items I am looking for. Recently I special ordered molding that was wrong when it arrived and they took it back and ordered the correct molding for me even though they probably lost money on that deal. I highly recommend them and will continue to buy from them,They save me a trip down the mountain and buying there supports local business!

They have most of what I need, but usually have something for decorating that the big box stores don't carry. Their prices are reasonable for the area (spend the money on gas to go to a big box store or pay a little extra for convenience and great customer service).Love this place!!!

This store needs to have their refund policy listed on their reciepts as well as their website. This should include if any restocking fees apply it should not vary by customer! Also train the staff on who the store manager is. I returned product over a week ago and am being told it may still be over one month for my refund. In my opinion this is awful customer service.

Great place to shop for all kinds of things. I got wide mouth canning jars, a carbon monoxide detector, LED lamps and diagonal wire cutters today. Very helpful staff. New rewards program as well.

Staff has consistently been able to help me find exactly what I need, even when I'm not sure what I need, or offer suggestions for a project I'm working on. IDK if it's family owned but it seems like it 'caz I've seen the same faces there year after year. (For the reviewer who wrote that they aren't friendly: these people are ALWAYS busy working, so they may not be in your face asking you if you need help, but they have ALWAYS assisted me promptly whenever I've needed help. And I've always gotten a smile or smile and a "Hello" when I come through the doors.)Their prices are very good (often better than Home Depot). I only go to Home Depot if A&R doesn't carry something and isn't able to order it. I'm so thrilled we have this business in our community!!!
