No mask wearing? No sign on the door? Not cool...Update:I went shopping for Christmas meal and had forgotten my wallet. I did have pay wallet on my phone but the transaction wouldn't go through.In order not to hold up the line, I asked to hold my groceries and I'd just run back home (10 miles, half hr drive one way).They agreed and I left my groceries with a Mgr who said they would hold them at the service desk.I rushed home and right back less then an hr as promised. I waited at the service desk for someone to come while looking for my groceries. Over a hundred dollars worth.The same person who took my groceries came to the front very disgruntled and said to me "what did you do with your groceries?" I looked at her stunned because she is the one who took my groceries! I said I left them with you and you were going to put them behind the service desk. She continued to say so and so said she saw you push them to your car and load them in!This person who took my groceries was accusing me of stealing them!!Someone finally came up front pushing my groceries in the cart and had placed them in the cooler. Not one apology for accusing me of stealing when she was the one who took my groceries.I wrote to the home office and they just got back and said they would forward my complaint to the store manager. UghI believe it was the Mgr who took my groceries and then accused me of stealing!Why would I come back to pay if I stole them?Secondly, why wouldn't corporate offer a discount or credit or to have the apology from them?They don't care at all about their customers!!Went to Weiss in Tunkhannock just a few min travel distance and their customer service was excellent!!!From the meat stocker to the cashier assistance all the way.I haven't been back to price chopper and refuse to since this arrogant treatment.I highly suggest going to home town market across the street or Weiss in Tunkhannock instead.

Check dates! For the past year and a half their dates on coffee been out of date. I forgot to check once again and of course it happened again. Got up in the morning and checked the date and of course it's a year old. Go figure. They apologize like always and I grab another one,. So what I'm trying to say is that they are well aware of what they are selling and they don't care because they keep doing it and they want you to pay the top price for it. Not fair. Also you want to ALWAYS check your receip to. Stuff on sale and also the price on the shelves don't add up to. They are charging more than what it's supposed to be. Overpricing their items. Our food and supplies that we buy. So basically they are ripping their customers off(meaning us). So what I'm trying to say is that these people definitely know what they are doing. Ripping us off and they are selling outdated food and other things to. So it makes me think about is the deli food outdated the seafood outdated meat department is their food fresh. Those we have to trust them because we get the actual date from the main deli meat and seafood and the meat department. Just BE AWARE of what this grocery store is doing. So they are getting away with this.

Very nice, clean and organized store. But (my oldman says) it's a dry town and they don't sell beer. Oh well, I will definitely be coming back soon.

I was completely shocked to see how crowded price chopper was. Only two cashiers were working and they had their hands completely full. Even though they were being overworked, they continued to provide amazing customer service Emily and the other cashier definitely deserve a raise. To still be able to be calm and respectful even in high levels of stress is admirable. I hope they get more cashiers to help.

Best variety of groceries in local area. I can find pretty much everything I need when I'm shopping here. Prices are sometimes a little higher than the local competition, but it's worth it for the great selection, spacious and clean store, and friendly staff. They do run good sales too, and offer points that you can redeem for more savings.

If I could give zero stars I would. They are not known unaffectionately as Price Gouger for nothing. Even their "sale" prices are way more than other stores. They take advantage of the fact that there are no other shopping opportunities in Montrose area to way overcharge; and most of the area's population does not support these overinflated prices. If that is not bad enough, every time I go to shop end up leaving without 3/4 of the items on list (made up from their weekly flyer) because there is nothing on the shelf. Unless you don't work and can get there in the middle of the day in the middle of the week you can forget getting anything in stock listed in their flyer. Oh, and did I mention that you have to watch like a hawk at checkout because guaranteed EVERY time I am overcharged for at least 1 if not multiple items (this is the store's fault - not the cashier's).

A very nice lady went all the way in the back to get me a pie crust I was looking for. A nice young man explained why they no longer carried Ezekiel Bread. Only disappointment was at checkout, I brought my own bag, and bagged my own groceries. When my bag was full, I had to ask the checker to finish bagging. I felt he should have been helping without being asked.

Overall they seem to have better quality baked goods items and workers than before some produce still goes bad immediately. And people are generally fine except the one woman who was very rude to me in my riding cart. 90% it would be perfect minus those two things especially some of the produce that goes off like onions or bagged greens some fruit occasional rude heads.

The stores fine, I guess, haven't really spent much time in there.What's aggravating is that while buying groceries they still wanted to charge me a service fee to get cash back, apparently I wasn't already spending enough...

Dusty the cashier helped us so much. I am going thru radiation therapy and was exhausted. Dusty let my man get me a chair and took his time to bag our groceries nicely. And make sure we were ok. Thank you Dusty.

Good range of products. Meat is good quality. Staff are friendly and helpful but often times only a few cashier lines are open resulting in long waits to check out. Have noticed that dairy productsx have very short sell by dates so check if you are planning to have something for a while.

Very clean store. Everything you need for groceries, prices are great make sure you get a price chopper card. The bakery section is great fresh bread all the time even cakes and donuts. Friendly customer services.

I like to shop here, however, there is ALWAYS a wait at the check out. If you get a friendly check out clerk, your lucky. Most are unfriendly, with absolutely no manners. Must be the weather! If I was manager, I would have a talk with the front help. Meat department, is always friendly.

Good grocery store. Friendly staff. Prices are surprisingly low in some areas and quite the opposite on more common items. Loads of parking and on a strip so there other stores you can browse in. 4 out of 5 due to prices and closing the fry fish station at 8pm.9p is more understandable for the area.

I'm almost always happy to shop here. This location does need self checkouts and more cashiers though. Sometimes theres only 2 cashier's and lines are long. To the people complaining this store is dirty I suggest you look in scarfalottos across the street if you want to see dirty. As for the prices it's not that bad, in fact I've seen higher prices at walmart on some items. I think some people just feel high almighty or feel like a tough guy trashing everything online. Others are complaining about traffic like somehow this store is responsible for it lmao. It's a small town with limited options so I'm not really sure what people expect. All I know is I will take a small town over the city any day!

Tell me why I purchased these yesterday and they are rotted today? I have had them less than 24 hrs and they are rotted on the inside. This is not the first time we have received rancid produce. This store should be ashamed of the product they sell. Meat goes bad within a day or two of purchase, produce barely lasts a day. I have seen them repackage bakery products that busted open and were rolling around in a cart. I would rather drive an hour away to shop at literally any other store than go five minutes up the road to this poor excuse for a grocery store. Don’t waste your time or money shopping here the employees are rude and the product is awful.

I love Price chopper they always have great deals and quality products he sells people are awesome and helping me find things that you can't find and they just give great service. It is wheelchair accessible, handicap parking, handicapped accessible. This store is so big it has a deli and bakery it has warm food to go a floral shop seafood section as well as the meat section freezer section dairy section and regular food section daily housewares section and they've added a pharmacy in the Montrose Price chopper so they have like a pharmacy section of merchandise for you to purchase they always have seasonal deals on whatever the season is.

I wish Price Chopper was closer to my residence, I'd shop here all the time. Each time I've been into one the staff is very kind.I especially want to say the pharmacy staff at this location is excellent and went out of their way to help me.Good customer service seems to be hard to come by in NE PA, but Price Chopper has done well hiring good employees.

Love Price Chopper! They saved my life. I had just had back surgery on March 2 and my husband wasn't feeling well. We were low on food. It was a beautiful day and I was feeling pretty good. I hopped in the truck with my pillow and thought with a little help I could pick up a few things. WRONG! I was doing ok until I asked a kind gentleman who was stocking shelves to put a case of water in my cart. The weight if the water made the cart almost too heavy to push. Then London broils were on sale bogo.More weight. Milk etc. Finally made it to the cashier in tears. I said "I need help" absolutely could not move, couldn't even empty my cart. I was mortified! The cashier ran around the counter told me to go sit down and proceeded to empty my cart. Within minutes there were 2 other girls helping her and a young man waiting on the side to roll the cart to my truck and unpack it for me. They took my card paid for it and walked me out. No sighs, no heavy breathing. Just no problem and took care of me. The staff was so awesome. They wouldn't even let me tip them for their kindness. I am so indebted to the wonderful staff at our local Montrose Price Chopper. Thank you so much for your kindness when I really needed it!

It isn't very often I run into a problem. The only recent complaint I had was with a rather rude cashier during the initial 'covid' scare, yelling 'procedures through her mask at older people with hearing issues already. Today was really annoying because several of us looked toward the three lighted cashier lines closest to the 'entry only' side. But only one cashier was working the register. Another cashier was bagging for her and we had no clue where the third mia was. So foolish me, seeing the 'bagging cashier' looking up at us, I figured he would allow the cashier to finish on her own and help the next in line. Which gets crazy with the distancing. So while we made eye contact several times, he continued to bag. Then after all was bagged, he loaded the cart as well knowing people were getting annoyed. The other two customers walked to the far end (& got out before I did & I was even ready to bag my own). He finally took the next customer as I bagged my own. But because of the wait, it took me over twice as long to drive home to New Milford because I was now stuck following two trucks who reached a top speed of 34 mph and as slow as 19 mph averaging 27/28 mph in broad daylight. Anyone using rt 848 knows how horrific that ride can be with no passing allowed the whole ten miles. I cussed myself for waiting on line as long as I did which made me in turn wait even longer for the ride home. Had I caught up with the trucks some 3 or 4 miles down the road, it'd be a tough call. But I pulled right up to the exit as they rumbled pass the lot. In the future, if there's a cart full of groceries unclaimed, it might be mine who got tired of waiting for cashiers to bag for others while customers wait in line.

Ordered some food from the deli, had to get their attention from the important cell phone conversation. The woman getting the food was less than ambitious and did not take care to listen to what I wanted. Food seemed old and tasteless. The gravy I was given, which I specifically declined, had a thick layer of skin, that she served me. Store employees are less than helpful. Store used to be decent but has since taken a downhill path.Visited again by desperation yesterday. This is a sad excuse of a store and an even more example of employees. Tried getting the attention of an employee working the floral department(I think), I asked for help, we made eye contact, he put his head down...and walked away. The deli was obnoxiously slow. Although it was nice seeing the manager make his presence known by walking the store, even if he was scrolling through facebook(its a very distinct blue!). And top top things off, they have signs that read thank you in multiple languages on the wall...all except english... last time I checked, we live in America, add an english sign to the wall!

I come here with my mother often. we switch back and forth between the old rays market and here. its great for the deals, especially the bakery items, but if youre buying meat, go across the street. its cheaper there that it is here

Way way way over pricedPretty much only game in town and in the middle of the oilfield play so of course they are going to take advantage of that and gouge everyone.I mean seriously I walked thru the store and the prices for certain things are just ridiculous!!So I just put my stuff back and went accross the street to the smaller store where things seemed a little more reasonably priced......

Doesn’t even deserve a one star, treated my family like we were a germ all because of this social distancing stuff, what was normally a 5 min easy in and out in the store took more like 45 min because of the system they have in place. My advice, don’t bother coming here unless you like being treated like a threat to society.

This is one of the cleanest and neatest grocery store I've been in. Clerks stocking shelves and working in the deli and at the meat and seafood counters are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you find items. I visit Susquehanna County frequently and have shopped at the Montrose Price Chopper for years.

Horrible... Rotted, sometimes bare produce section. And the smell of fried food upon entering WOOF. Prices are not chopped. Hygiene of some employees is questionable. Wish the deli would change gloves. Nice to have a big grocery in a small town, but with how busy they get, it would be nice if they would step it up a notch. Also, a pain because they recently changed everything in the store around to add a pharmacy.
