I have stayed as a guest at Best Western Nittany Inn on two different occasions, and I was satisfied with both visits. Price is ultimately important to me, but cleanliness serves as my first priority above anything factors that I take into consideration when choosing a hotel. With the increasing cost of a goods night's sleep away from home, I need to be comfortable and unafraid of taking any unwanted guests home with me. Best Western Nittany Inn provides that. They also serve a slightly above average Continental breakfast that has been included in the cost of my accommodations both times. A free breakfast that allows me to begin my day with the advantage of nourishment until lunch time is a great convenience most travelers, I clouding myself enjoy.

The lobby was messy as we walked in on Christmas. We had two pets, which I disclosed at the desk. Was asked for $260.00 in cash. I paid via card, but the clerk insisted cash only. It's quite a hefty pet charge in my experience, but also very sketchy to insist on cash only when I paid via card ahead of time.I told them I didn't have cash and I wasn't comfortable using the ATM to give cash. We ended up canceling our booking and staying at the Hyatt for less than we had paid to stay at the Best Western. After we left they called me over and over from three different phone numbers.Needless to say, the Hyatt was a much better upgrade, would recommend the Hyatt. Would not recommend this best western.

Needed a place to stay near the Rothrock State Forest, Coopers Gap trails. This was pretty convenient. Breakfast was basic but good. Stayed on the first floor and wish I had stayed on the top floor. I heard every footfall above my head until the wee hours. Not my thing.I picked this place for a little more $$ but might have just as well off to save the cash and stay in a one star hotel?

Worst hotel stay in years. Extremely poor customer service (only nice girl was the one with short blonde hair) the rest spoke in a very rude tone and would not look us in the eyes. Power went out the second night we were there while I was in the middle of using a medical device for my daughter. My husband went down to ask what was going on and if there was any updates on when it may be back and the ladies at the desk would barely speak to him. No manager was around. We called back after our stay to ask for compensation because we were unable to use the amenities at the hotel for several hours and without power the medical device was unable to be used. Coming back after a long day at a wedding it was extremely frustrating. I understand a power outage is not the employees fault but some kind communication would have been nice. After calling the hotel about compensation and the manager (who was extremely condescending) returned my call with a poor offer of $40 refund for an extremely overpriced hotel room, I asked if there was anyway they would reconsider and I was told they would speak to the owner and give me a call back in 15-30 minutes. 2 weeks later and a lot of phone tag I have yet to receive a call. Absolutely would never stay here again. If you need a place, I would go to the Holiday Inn nearby instead.

Nothing fancy but served its purpose. Staff was ok, room was much cleaner than I expected. Looked like they provided a nice breakfast. Bring a pillow if you can't sleep on extremely soft pillows and be prepared to ask for blankets because what is on the bed is very light. Our room had a nice smell when we arrived. Total plus.Noteworthy details: Next door to the hotel is a Dollar General, and across the parking lot is a large gas station and Arby's.

Not truly pet friendly if you have a cat. They turned away my middle aged mother traveling with her cat across the country. She has been driving for too long and was over tired to the point of confusion, dehydrated, scared of it getting dark, and found this “pet friendly” hotel late at night. We called ahead to make sure they took registers emotional support animals. They said no when she got in the lobby. They left her crying and unable to allow the cat. They said he could stay in his carrier in the restaurant/bar area of the adjoining business. This wasn't a real solution. How is it okay for him to cry and be afraid without access to his litter box? In a restaurant? They graciously allowed her to sleep in her car in the parking lot. Unbelievable.

Perfectly fine hotel. It was clean and smelled good in the building. Not much of a pool but we had plans to swim during our stay, however, the pool was out of order and closed.Nearby activities: Large antique store across the street. Penn’s and Woodward cave are about 1/2 hour north.

The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was Decent 2/3 days…. HOWEVER , we stayed here 3 different times for work and were charged a different early check in fee EACH time. This last time was a $60 early check in fee …. & when we addressed them about it the manager , Vee, said “they didn’t know what they were doing” and then said that’s the rules … she can be very unprofessional and talks down on you as if it’s your fault her employees are not all on the same page. Customer service training needs to be done. The other front desk girls are more polite than the manager , sad. There was a roach on the iron board .. we reported to the front desk 2 different times. All they said was “oh , I’ll let them know”.The last time we stayed here the room we were given didn’t have working heat … it was 42 degrees outside. They have a fitness center posted as their amenities …. There are literally 2 machines and they say “for sale”.The breakfast is usually decent but this last time the waffle mix was brown and old . (The lady working there was very nice and apologetic and fixed it right away.)The hotel is overpriced. There are better hotels in the area!

Very friendly and attentive staff. The room was very comfortable and clean with fairly new furniture. Drive to Penn state is about 20 minutes so not a bad drive in. The hot breakfast left a bit to be desired in its quality, but the other standard items of cereal, yogurt, juices, and bagels were available.Overall great experience here!

We were in the area visiting friends. Had good stay here. Hotel was quiet with clean good size rooms and public areas. Comfortable bed. Towles and linens smelled freshly layndered. Refrigerator in-room. Shower/tub. Good variety of breakfast offerings. Dog friendly and plenty of area around hotel to walk dog. Staff was friendly and helpful. While no Omni this hotel was perfectly fine for our needs and we would not hesitate to return.

We stayed here for move-in weekend for Penn State. Staff was very friendly and attentive, they are honestly the highlight of the hotel. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was decent. It’s a basic hotel and was sufficient for staying for a weekend.

The room was adequate (2 queen beds). The room had a microwave and refrigerator. It was clean. The ice machine was broken while we were there, and the fitness room was out of order. The woman who got the breakfast together was so friendly and hard working. She was constantly cleaning and spoke with everyone. The breakfast selection and quality was good (Your usual bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, muffins, bagels, etc.) The coffee was great. The front desk staff was not as friendly and helpful. There were several guests with issues and concerns and the front desk staff did not go out of their way to help anyone. Zero allowances/accommodations were made. It was extremely expensive, eventhough we were there for a football weekend. I think because the hotel was completely booked, there was an attitude that no exceptions would be made, and they weren't real nice about it. There weren't many restaurants around other than a couple of fast food restaurants. The reception on the tv was really poor. I will look for other accommodations next time I go up.

It’s nothing special. Clean. Nice people. But it is not worth the cost. $207 total for 2 people and 2 old little dogs for one night! I’ve stayed in nice resorts with much more to offer than a place to sleep and microwave omelettes for the cost of this place. It’s not even warm enough for their tiny pool to be open yet, and any nearby ski slopes are long closed for the season.

Have stayed here several times over the years. Just above average, initially, but it has seriously deteriorated. July ‘22 was the most recent visit: curtains were shredded, shower curtain railing and towel rack above the toilet were loose about to fall out of the wall. Bed was hard; uncomfortable with the thinnest of blankets.Breakfast is basic but adequate at least. If there were more local choices they could not charge what they do. Search hotels in nearby State College because the other hotel chain within a few miles of this one, although nicer/newer, is managed by the same people according to an employee. If you must stay here request a room that does not face Rutters to lessen the noise and headlights affecting your room.

My stay experience was nice. The room was very clean and up to date. Ac worked nicely, shower had great pressure (shower heads could use some updating) and the beds were comfy imo. The staff was very friendly as well. There is a dollar store, subway, Dairy Queen, Rutters and an Arbys right next to the hotel. The only thing I wish there was more of would be places that deliver. The only delivery option was a Dominos and Pizza Hut unless you use Door Dash. All in all you can’t beat it for $100/night.

I was so impressed with this hotel!! My in-laws and my husband and I (along with our 1 year old) stayed here after attending a wedding a few hours away from our house. We got the family suite and let me just say, it was really quite beautiful! Very tasteful and modern. We had everything we needed. The rooms that were conjoined were huge! We were in the living room area with a pull out bed. No problems sleeping at all. They had a mini crib for our son to sleep in, too. They served a nice breakfast in the morning which we all appreciated. It isn't a huge hotel, so it's nice and quiet and comfy cozy, but not small enough to be awkward at all. I'd stay in his hotel again in a second!!

The person on over night was not welcoming. Called to see if any rooms available due to emergency break down. It was like i bothered her. Once arrived had to call to find someone to check in since no one was at the front desk. She was near the phone to answer. The bathroom looked slightly touched up. Room seemed stuffy filter in the ac thing was horrible thick grime and dust had to clean them out in the tub. It was. Covered in dirt when done. For 130$ for the 9 hour stay at max this could have better

Haven’t stayed yet and I’m sure it’s a lovely place, but I’m coming for a wedding this weekend. A total of four guests of the hotel have called inquiring about check in time and whether there is a fee for early check in and receptionist could not confirm a check in time with me. They told me $20 early check in fee, then another friend we can check in an hour early for free and then it’s $10 per hour earlier, then another that it’s $20 per hour. I am coming from 3 hours away and just wanted to know whether I’d be able to get into my room to get ready. Very disappointed with customer service.

Room 110 had no heat - unit controls didn't work. We froze and the hallway was warmer than our room. Charged us $178 + tax for a room where the heat didn't work and the shower curtain rod had been broken so that the curtain wouldn't close under any circumstances and the water ran into the floor and puddled under the sink. (definite safety hazard) Management profiting from the PSU football crowd, which is only fair if you provide the services and facilities you promised. Will be interesting to see if management actually reads this and makes reparations.

I found the room to be clean, the staff was nice and everything worked.I also liked the fact that the lobby doors are locked from 10 pm to 6 am. As a woman traveling alone for work, that made me feel better about where I was staying. They are also across from a Rutters BONUS. Love their coffee

The place had very cheerful and happy people, the beds are CLEAN and comfy, and the breakfast wasamazing! The breakfast unlike all the other hotels I have been to , they had strawberry waffles and the price wasn't outrageous for the hotel stay either. Personally I would come back every time I travel around here!

The hotel is very clean. The staff is very friendly anytime you come to the hotel. The breakfast area is kept well stocked and clean. The beds are a little hard, but some people enjoy that. My husband loves the beds, I don't.:)It is quiet here at night.

Checked into the room there were clothes still in the closet from the last person. In-laws room had a broken toilet seat. Wifi isn’t working. Front desk is short staffed have to ring a door bell to get anyone.Should have stayed at the Holiday Inn down the street.Won’t be making this mistake again.

This place is probably OK, but I got put in a room right by the front desk. The gap under the door let me hear everything from the desk Attendant's phone conversations to literally every noise there was, including that kid that woke up and was in the Lobby at like 6 AM. I think I was in room 109. **Try to avoid the lobby area.** Also, my wash cloths were anything, but white. The second bed had some dirt in the sheet. And did I mention the noise?? Again, seemed like a good place in a convenient area. They got other good reviews... must have been a bad room.***I stayed here again 12/2020 and was in a room on the second floor this time. It was much better, but there also seemed to be very few people in the hotel.***

I have stayed here countless times and it checks off all of the boxes for me. My first stay left me very impressed between the friendly staff, cleanliness, rates and rooms themselves. Now admittedly there was an issue with my first reservation, but to no fault of their own. The reservation hotline screwed it up and they more than made good on it by upgrading my room and giving me a food voucher for the restaurant next door. Since then, I have stayed probably a half dozen times and the staff know me by name and always extend a warm welcome. Also worth noting is the breakfast. For a smaller establishment, they provide an assortment of hot and cold food which are quite good. Highly recommend!!!
