Walked in and immediately smelled something terrible. I have to assume the owner was grilling something in the back? Anyway, I found a really nice looking clay bowl, ONLY 3 DOLLARS?!!?!?! After excitedly handing it to the cashier and paying, he bent down and quickly put something into the bowl before handing it to me in a bag. I assumed it was my receipt, but after opening the bag in the car I found a strange orb like creature sitting in the bowl. If this is what comes included with a purchase I most certainly won't be shopping here again. Display products FOR WHAT THEY ACTUALLY ARE, if a living being comes included with it at least have a sign somewhere?????

Cute little thrifty store that we just happened to see driving pass. I know it's things that are used , giving and never washed but the smell was the only thing that I could not take after a fee mins. But if you are into deals for the throwback stuff, it's a store for you.

Don't let the small size fool you, I find something good every time I go!

Cute little thrift store that I was not expecting to go to, the people I was with just happened to pass it on the way to another thrift store and were like "sure, let's stop in" and I'm glad we decided that. Plenty of interesting picks here!

This place is the heart of Millvale and its sister location in Ross is even better. You would be hard pressed to find a better thrifting experience. That feeling you get when you explore a thrift store is immediately what you find here. Charming, cozy and well laid out. Talk to Lisa or Michelle for an engaging and fun experience. These ladies are the truest treasures you'll find in Pittsburgh. Dont miss out.

I live just a half block away and I find it charming and reminds me of the old five and dime stores when I was a kid.I absolutely love this store. Cheap, good quality items at unbelievable prices. The staff are the best people around, friendly and so down to earth. You will love it.

Very creative use of an old storefront that has walk-in coolers that showcase thrift for sale and racks and shelves and bookcases for everything else. This place is packed and is very dense with lots of clothes, toys, housewares, media like books, CDs, and cassettes, and also has a jewelry counter with unique items. Very well organized, and very friendly helpful staff.

I used to love this thrift store until I went this Saturday and picked some sale dresses and kids clothes, I was shocked when the total came out to $35 because the 2 dresses I grabbed were half off, and I had two toddler swimsuits, a stuffed animal and a $2 photo album. But they don’t give you a receipt so I got in the car and drove home and when I checked my receipt in the car, the cashier had charged me $18 for 3 additional dresses that I did not purchase! On top of the two sale ones listed on the receipt. Fantastic. I called back and she promised to have her manager get in touch with me. She did not. Then the cashier offered to text me her number so I could send her a copy of my receipt and get it sorted out. She did not do that either. But she did find the swimsuit that I had purchased, which was behind the counter because she forgot to put it in my bag. What a nightmare, and I live 40 minutes away and used to make special trips to go out there, and have recommended the place to many people but after this I won’t be back. And on top of that I need to make a claim with my bank because they did not come through on refunding me for $18 in items I did not buy. I’m so disappointed. Make sure you check your digital receipt before you leave this place or you might be in for a bad surprise.

I bought a pair of nice white vintage reeboks at goodwill for 7 bucks. I saw another pair at house of thrift that my friend could use, cost 15 bucks. IMO, too overpriced to really be thrift, not good enough selection to be vintage.

This place is pretty junky, but I'll stop by every once in a while if I'm in the area on the off chance that they have something worth picking up. I went in today, and the entire store stank of sewage. I couldn't bear to be inside for more than a couple minutes before rushing out. The smell was nauseating. No business should have customers in an environment like that.

Nice Thrift shop. Its small but had a good variety of things. I found an old stereo slide projector that I bought to try out. An unusual find as I haven't seen one elsewhere.

They didn’t seem to have very much when I visited earlier. A lot of junk, to be honest. Old shoes, coffee makers, boxes of old computer wires and chargers, kitchen utensils, etc.. The place is very small and cluttered and their prices seemed a bit high. The owner was very nice though and I will definitely revisit when I’m back in the area.

A really cute store with bargain prices. Owner is very nice. Im always on my way to somewhere else when I go here but one will definitely find something here. This is a store for people that like to sort through stuff and root around which is which is a good thing!

Clerk communicated to me in a condescending manner when discussing damage on a mirror. I pointed out obvious damage on it and he said ‘it’s an antique don’t you know what antique means?’ I was fine paying the asking price but he seemed worked up when I was reasonably asking to lower the price given the damage.

LOVE THIS STORE!!! There is always something new here and I’ve found the coolest things! You can hop in for half a hour and find so much, it’s not overwhelming like the big box thrift stores, but it has lots of rotating variety that you can always find something cool! CHECK IT OUT PEOPLE!!!

Its not often that a business pays enough attention to their Facebook page that the owner personally comes out to say Hi after interacting with you on a couple posts. Today when my daughter and I visited for the first time that is exactly what happened! The store is ADORABLE. Its clean, organized, and there is something for literally everyone! We came out with a beautiful sweater and bell sleeved shirt for....you might want to grab a seat...$5.29. No NOT a piece for both! There is a giant cupcake cookie jar I have my eye on and a goegeous LL Bean wooden sled that is just amazing! Make sure to join the club and earn points for a generous discount! Books, shoes, clothes, records, purses, household decor, you name it they have it. And one more thing that really touched my heart. They work closely with the North Hills food bank and do accept donations at the store. I know we will be seeing a LOT of the awesome House of Thrift crew!

One of the most charming thrifting experience I’ve had. Employees are helpful and know what’s in stock, they’re passionate about keeping prices reasonable and accessible. The selection is varied without being overwhelming. Great music playing in the background! I loved every moment of it.

Update 2022: I haven't stopped in House of Thrift near Millvale, PA in a few years now. There was still plenty of parking. Staff was still kind. There was still a large selection in the store. This time, I was disappointed to find how high prices some of the items were. I found a basic pair of used flip flops for $5. That is oceanside boardwalk prices. There was a plain wall clock for $12. I found a visually used wallet priced at $9. I didn't buy anything because there are many other thrifts in the area that have more appropriate thrift/used store prices. Maybe this is more of a boutique type thrift store which would justify why it is sort of on the pricey side. I'm not surprised that I never see many people frequenting the store at any given time.

Better selection than any Goodwill. Intimate space (read: cramped). But filled with finds. Great female clothing selection and shoes. Some men's pants and shirts. Books you would want to read. And quirky items like that old machine that shakes off fat. Seriously. Local independent shop that delivers. You need and item go, if you love thirfting... Do not miss!!!

A hidden gem buried deep in etna but what a place! The weird, the wonderful and unusual. Join rewards program for points toward a 50% off purchase. Changing rooms located to the right of the register behind the book section.

CBD is a life saver!First, I'd like to give a little back story. I haven't always been the type of person open to things like CBD, but it was easy for me to think that way when I was in good health. I was in a car accident which caused me a lot of issues and I was put on a ton of medicine, the side effects of which were terrible, making me feel dulled and very zombie-like for years. I finally decided to come off the medicine, which was way harder than I realized, so I started researching natural ways to handle the withdrawal and CBD was one of those ways. I ended up trying a very cheap CBD oil sold by a local lady, which did nothing. Shortly after that, I was shopping in House of Thrift one day and saw products from CBD Distillery for sale. I went online to research others' reviews - which were great – and I bought the 83 mg Full-Spectrum CBD Oil. It made the medicine much easier to come off of, and I finally felt sane. I continued to take it after my withdrawal issues were over and found it also helps my anxiety, migraines and chronic pain. I know the price is a lot but going cheap was a waste of money for me, and it feels good to support a small business.

They have alot of interesting stuff, comfy and never super cramped, might even find band shirts, we did. They have 2 stores, i feel bad cause the locations are sort of obscure and easy to miss. But theyre a go to as i like thrift shops.

Good place to shop if you’re low on funds! Cheaper than all the thrift stores that I know in the North Hills from my opinion !
