This clinic is amazing!! I am a review reader and typically won't go somewhere that has less than a 4.6. They got us in right away and had done surgery before our regular vet could even schedule a consult!! Dr Joe is wonderful, our Mojo loves him and is always happy to go back! If our boy loves him and he treats him well that's what really matters!!! Penns valley vet is the kind of clinic that we wish we could find for ourselves very knowledgeable Dr. Who makes you feel like your the only patient he has. He generally cares about your fur babies!

If possible, I would rate this with negative stars. I brought my kitten for a checkup and shots appointment, only to be told that my kitten was "female." I scheduled a spay appointment at another clinic based on this information, but upon the spay, I was told that my "she" was actually a "he." It's a simple oversight that I wouldn't expect from someone with "such experience." I wouldn't entrust this individual with my pet rock! I advise going elsewhere—you've been cautioned!

This clinic has an answering service that initially puts you on hold before a human being picks up after some time listening to elevator music. When you explain that you have an emergency with your dog, you are advised that the service will contact Dr. Joe and he will return your call very soon.In my case, very soon meant receiving a call from their front desk person 17 hours later the following day. Why bother having an answering service if you're not going to return calls in emergency situations.EDIT: In response to Dr. Joe’s rebuttal, I will point out that my dog was previously seen by the clinic in the previous 18 months. Therefore, there was a record on file for my dog yet no call back for 17 hours.Secondly, Dr. Joe’s caustic response calling me “another whiner” tells you all you need to know about him and how he treats his clientele .

They were very patient with our dog even when he got grumpy about some of the tests they needed to do.They also took the time to explain treatment plans and possible options.We're very happy with our visit.

Rough with the animal, prescribed me the most parasite resistant wormer, and quick to answer emails prior to a visit, but never called or emailed back after the first visit (which I paid for, so once they have your money it's eff you) when I requested to see my animals parasite test results.Quite pompous in personality. I was reminded why I was disgusted when he came to see my horses when the clinic first opened 🤮 Don't recommend, and I very rarely leave reviews.

After making an appointment, still waited an hour and never got to see the vet as I had to leave. Could hear people talking & running around. Completely chaotic experience. Their office cat bit at my dog too & I had to push him away and hold my dog. Who leaves an aggressive cat in an office??? Kept getting comments from the office staff that the vet was mean & short tempered. Would never visit here again.Willing to bet this review will be deleted by whoever manages this.

Dr. Joe is a knowledgeable, compassionate vet. My dog has a tendency to tangle with porcupines, and Dr. Joe has always been available, even on Sunday evenings. Every time I've needed to take my dogs to the vet I've chosen his practice over others. He's also extremely quick and efficient and I'm not left sitting there for long periods of time like I have at other vets. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great vet!

The doctor was amazing and took us in on an emergency situation when my dog was hit by a car. After that I actually switched my service from my original vet (being a valued client for 12 years) and I now bring all my fur babies here.

left my cat on the operating table a few years ago to go get food, he was heartless and showed 0 sympathy when he told my dad and 7 year old me that she was dead. he basically shrugged it off he said it like it meant nothing

i shouldn’t even be giving even 1 star this place is so bad he killed our dog he was just supposed to help with her teeth but gave her 2 shots and died 3 days after from bleeding from the shots. do not bring your animals here

Zoe was in for her check up ,and got 3 shots, but where she got the shots really really bothered her she could barely walk and move her head and where she had her shots there was a big lump by her neck for a week, Maybe the needle was too big or she should have got the shot in another place
