A walkable grocery store is one of the the things I love about Middletown—this Karns is in an old shoe factory and is really historically fascinating: you can even spot the old safe by the back automatic door! Grocery wise, they always have exactly what I want—the selection isn’t as broad as a larger grocery store, but it covers all the staples you might need to cook most everything. The cashiers are always very personable and relatable, and the meats, as mentioned by others, are fantastic. They stock things seasonally, too—currently have sidewalk snow salt and shovels ready for people who might need them!

It's fairly quick and competitively priced compared with other grocery stores. The physical location is a bit older so there is a lingering smell that's hard to get rid of, but overall things seem to be clean. The staff has always been incredibly polite and helpful.

The place to be if you are not willing to go to Giant instead! It's more expensive but closer to the university area. So, those without a vehicle may find it to come here instead of Giant. I'd still recommend shopping at Giant. It has better options.

I like this Karns. It is extremely dated, but it's part of the charm. I frequent the Hershey one as I work next door, but this one is closer to my house. It has everything you need despite the size and age!I find their prices comparable if not better than the competition, and their own store generic, Everyday Essentials, has great quality items.The deli and meat department are wonderful. I love their fresh fried chicken and macaroni and cheese, and they have some of the best pre-made Italian subs, strombolis, and soups. LOVE their food!I hope that they do in the future modernize a bit, maybe with some self-checkouts, or hey, at least update the interior *just a little.* Otherwise, definitely recommend.

Karns in Middletown is a wonderful supermarket. It has many of the items most households need for day to day meals like your bread eggs and milk. What's nice and unique about karns is the items they also sell that Giant doesn't, like local honey, relishes, unusual fruits like yellow plums and much more. Their prices are better than Giant as well and the people are really friendly.

Karn's is a family owned store and it shows. Their customers are very important to them. I love there meat department, I love being able to see both sides of the steak before I buy them. Also able to have meat cut to the thickness I want it.

Nice hometown feel to this store. They stock just about anything you could want.The Hot Foods Section has delicious home style offerings. Don't be like me and go there before lunch! I wanted 1 of everything!

Wonderful place to shop. They have a huge meat department and everything is fresh. Their Deli is fantastic most of the items they have in their Deli are homemade and you get points for shopping at Karnes (if you get 300 points you get $10 to shop on your next visit)

Family owned grocery store. Visit store on 9/2 to get lunch as I forgot to bring mine. From the outside it looks small however when you go in its pretty decent size. Picked up Fried Chicken from deli & prices were decent and chicken was ok. Passed by the meat dept and was shocked at the selection(s) offered.

I love shopping at Karns great value meat department A-+ quality the cells that they have helps a lot especially when you're on a budget I prefer to take the extra time and separate the pounds of the meat that I buy compared to buying already packed don't like it. And the recipes that Mr. Kearns has great recipes also.

Friendly staff, super helpful and knowledable. Everything we got from the deli/meat department was great and fresh. Not to mention the great prices and deals, it may not look like too much on the outside but once you step in its pretty big and very clean.

Thanksgiving turkey was supposed to be fresh. Got it home. Was half frozen. Cook time was an hour longer.Asked for a potroast, gave me Chuck. Fat, fat, fat.Maybe I should know better. But, they are my butcher, right.

I this little grocery store but loved it more when it was Fox's. Prices on some things are high but some others are low. My biggest "issue" is the layout of the aisles. They don't make sense to me.

Great. Love their meat Dept. When its busy, you may need to wait, but it's worth it. Also maybe invest in another, hani cap shopping cart. They are very helpful, for us handi cap customers. ( scooter).

Middletown store is small with very little fresh produce and not much variety of products as its too small to offer that. Can also be expensive. Is great to just run in and grab a few things, and the meat department IS 5 star.

If you're buying something from an outside supplier in their own packaging you should be OK. Never buy anything from their deli, hot bar, salad bar, pre-packaged foods/desserts... basically anything they touched. Every time I've bought something that was touched by a Karns employee there has been something wrong. Hair, eyelashes, bugs, rubber bands and plenty of other disgusting finds. Once I bought a piece of carrot cake that must've been made with the clippings from a barber shop floor. Thats how much hair I found in this thing. It was beyond gross. I haven't been there since.
