This is a great place with great associates. Outdoor hear from entry to expert level. Bought a bike from them and it was a fantastic experience. Took it back 9 months later and they did a full tune and it's included in the first year.

They packed my Cannondale bike with immaculate care! Shipping my bike from Chicago to PA with UPS was a nightmare, and a pricey one at that. I flew back to Chicago via SW, and had REI pack my bike for $100 (member price) which I took as a second checked bag (keep in mind it was oversized which is $75, still overall cheaper than any shipping). They were so nice and helpful. Upon unpacking it in Chicago I saw they put stoppers everywhere to reduce probability of damage. They also noted some issues with my bike and offered to correct them. I was last minute too and they got it done in like 3 hours, but I will definitely plan ahead more next time. It’s how my husband and I will always fly our bikes somewhere. Thank you to all who helped!

I love this store, stopping by every once and awhile to see what new goodies they have added. This is my Favorite outdoor clothing and equipment store. Also all the employees are always so nice and helpful.

We absolutely love REI and have been to many different locations around the country. My first time to the Mechanicsburg, PA store, which is over an hour from my home, was bad and we will not be back. One of the main reasons we shop with REI for almost everything outdoor is their incredible return policy for members. I requested to return a pair of trail shoes I tried out and didn't like. The shoes were worn twice and had some (very) dried dirt on them. I did brush them off and try to remove as much dirt as possible, but honestly didn't worry about it too much because it's REI and I have never had any issues returning anything. The person at the cashier looked at the shoes, turned to their manager and then turned back to me to say they would not accept them and that they only accept clean returns. I asked why it was a problem for them when there have never been any issues at any other REI we have ever been to. They didn't have much of an answer except to say it's in their policy and it's so people don't return soaking wet, muddy items. These shoes were not soaking wet or muddy, they had a little dried dirt. We walked out and will never be back. Do better Mechanicsburg store!

I absolutely love this store! They are always there to help you find the perfect pack for backpacking. Only 30 bucks for membership which gives you deals. Their warranty is by far the best!

This is now my go-to store for anything outdoors, I spent way too much time browsing around and buying things I have needed for my trail blazing activities. I could spend a whole day here alone learning new things from the expert sales team and finding something new and useful. Their membership is definitely worth getting, in my opinion. Christmas, bdays.....a gift card for this store will be what I ask for haha 😄 I'll be back!!! Thank you for being such an amazing store with such a huge selection!

I made the trip to REI with low expectations of finding a hiking boot that I would actually enjoy wearing. I knew I would have to compromise on what I wanted because I don’t like the traditional lacing around the ankles of most hiking boots.The REI member tonight who helped me did the impossible and found the perfect shoe for me. The Salomon Cross Hike 2! I can’t thank him enough for bringing me different options until we landed on the perfect one! Thank you! I just ordered the color that I wanted online at REI outlet and I can’t wait to wear them!

Went for an airplane checked luggage worthy duffle bag and ended up with a slightly smaller Patagonia black hole bag. So cool in fact, I’m afraid it could be too tempting and get stolen. Love this co-op & network of stores.

I received outstanding customer service from Kristie in the shoe department of the Mechanicsburg,PA store. She was friendly, compassionate and extremely patient.I have Parkinson's and it's difficult for me to lace my sneakers. She put my custom made orthotics in all of the sneakers that I tried on and she also laced all of my sneakers. She is so kind and I so appreciate that.

They have no idea of what's in stock no idea of what is happening with your order delivery no information can be given on the matter from any of the store's employees they provided or offered no help what so ever and I just signed up to be a member...that's a mistake on my part...won't be shopping at any of rei's locations again

New REI in east-central Pennsylvania! Exactly what you'd expect. The inside looks great but just a few... Shall we say growing pains with the inventory given that the store JUST opened and the ongoing worldwide shipping crisis. Still worth the trip!

The dude in the shoe department was very helpful and patient. He was helping three customers including me. He also provided recommendations for some camping gear that we asked about and pointed us to that department's rep. I spent almost $500....it's really easy here. Great experience, great people, great gear. Enjoy yourself.

I've been a lifetime member for several years and they just opened up this location in Mechanicsburg PA. I spoke to Matthew in the boot department and he was very informative. More information than I thought I wanted and he was helpful and engaging. I then spoke to Ray over in car racks and he also was very educational. He gave me his time and knowledge. All in all every interaction with their staff was pleasurable. You can tell they are passionate and willing to help in any way they could. Their was a lot of selection throughout the entire store. I'm looking forward to using my new hiking boots.

Me and my wife bought new bikes here a couple of weeks ago. Austin Rhodes and Seth were amazing in helping us out. They let us test drive a couple of different bikes and installed all of our accessories we purchased. Excellent service!

Had a great experience at REI. From the very helpful sales rep assisting me with buying hiking boots for my daughter, to the follow up calls to the store troubleshooting why I'm not getting their co-op emails. They were being helpful and all had a great "help the customer" attitude. I recommend checking out this site for your outdoor needs!

Great outdoor adventure store. They have all kinds of gear and almost anything you could need. I have gotten some of the best hiking pants I own from here. They have climbing, camping, backpacking, hiking, and all kinds of other gear.

My husband and I were there yesterday to purchase a few things. We haven't shopped at REI in over 15 years. The cashier, Jayleigh, was pushy and condescending. She tried to sell me on the membership and kept going on and on and on about it when I was clearly uncomforable and, frankly, needed to get home. When she finally stopped talking, I declined the offer and she acted suprised and annoyed and questioned me as if she was challenging me. I gave her my reason, that I simply wasn't interested at this time, and her response was a snide "Oh. Well, that's really disappointing." Excuse me??? The gentleman who talked to us about the bikes was very nice, but we likely won't be shopping here again if this is how the cashiers are allowed to treat people.

Visited today and found the perfect "Jeff Probst" shirt in their member area that I can't wait to kayak, hike, and now potentially be Jeff Probst for Halloween in! We've been to this store several times and like the selection of products. Employees are super helpful also. We recognized our cashier, Natasha, from previous visits and she was poised, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome at the store. It's nice to have a physical store to visit to try on items and discover products we didn't even know existed!

So glad we finally have a real camping store here!!! Its about time considering how close we are to the AT.Okay not quite as cool as the store in Pittsburgh with a rock climbing wall, but still has everything else they do, plus skis. Well organized and very easy to find what I was looking for, large section of maps and books on local places you can’t find anywhere else here. Friendly and welcoming staff!

Wow! I came in for an orange hat ( fall hiking, needed a safety color!) I was blown away by the selection but what really made my experience outstanding was the front of house staff at check out. Jayleigh was incredible! My husband and I had a great experience as complete newbies picking out multi-day packs. Logan helped us both try different packs, explaining the pros and cons. When we decided on packs, we found that there were some supply chain issues with the one my husband wanted. Logan and Matthew gave us ALL our options and helped us to make the right choice given the unforeseen circumstances. They were extremely patient and never rushed us. We really appreciated all the information and kindness we received!! Thank you!!

Amazing selection and variety of all things hiking, camping, biking and skiing. A little pricy but you're paying for quality. They have an awesome $20 lifetime membeship program that pays for itself your 1st time there spending $50 or more. Staff is passionate, knowledgeable, and above all super friendly and helpful. If you're an outdoors person at all this is a MUST stop and shop.

We joined as members years ago at a Delaware store location. Very nice having an REI locally now. The sales people that work in the shoe department are outstanding. I've bought a pair of running sneakers and a pair of hiking boots. I won't buy my outdoor recreation footwear anywhere else.

4 to 5 stars! Absolutely wonderful tasting coffee, and more or less wonderful staff. Call after they were closed for five minutes just to honestly say thank you for making my night better and I didn’t get a chance I was hung up real quick hence the four out of five stars. Even if your business is closed you never know what the phone call is for then and they shouldn’t have picked up at all if. Wonderful coffee definitely go there

Great experience. Came into today looking to upgrade the big three and was helped by Matthew, who spent over an hour with me going over some options. From getting fit for a new pack to crawling in and out of a few sleeping bags, it was a great example of what makes brick and mortar so essential. Super helpful in what he knew, and honest in what he didn't. What else can you ask for? Will be back again.
