Bought bacon ends today for dinner and ended up returning it coz it's spoiled, though expiry date is Dec. 31st. My son and I took some bite and noticed the weird taste so I had to drive back to the store. What's even more disappointing is that the store manager was not available and the lady I talked to seemed not to care that much, as if it's nothing serious! I'll give it no star if I can!

I went to buy some chicken from meat department the guy work there he didn’t care he asked me what I wanted and then came another employee talked to him and he left me with out any word he didn’t even give me my order someone else came helped me and then he came back looked at me and started laughing and said to the other two employees look at her face reaction and kept laughing till I get my order this absolutely disgusting and disrespectful situation from someone he didn’t care about his job thanks lord I can control myself but really you have to choose good respect people to hire to keep your businesses up .customer service should be is the first priority .I will not go this store anymore. You need good customer service.

I love this meat market and grocery store..The meat is great and so is the prices. I go there OFTEN. The staff is knowledgeable and professional.. Furthermore they are transgender friendly..

Over products are good and value is good however after 3 times going there and each time a different cashier tried to double charge me really don't think I will go back unless I am desperate

Go the extra couple miles to the boiling springs location. This one has no standards. Ordered the meat bundle. They under weighed everything. (I package at home with vaccum seal and reweighed everything for portioning) Replaced regular sausage with spicy sausage and never mentioned it to me. The "free" lasagna that comes with it has a gelatin like substance on top.

Both the deli and butcher staff were helpful and friendly. The store sells some great quality meat.The store was busy due to shoppers stocking up for an upcoming snow storm. The cashiers were keeping up and were pleasant.Updated 12/30/23...meat counter staff were efficient. Butcher counter was pretty well stocked.

I won’t be back to Karn’s. I stood at the deli for 15 minutes while they served people who came after me like I was invisible. This is not the first time this has happened! If you can’t keep the customers straight then get a machine so people can draw a number. Not to mention their product is stupid priced. $4 for a head of lettuce is highway robbery.

The Folks at the Deli counter were wonderful! Also the cashier was very pleasant. This store has the best meat and seafood of anyone around. They raise their own beef locally and pay the farmers above market price. What a gem!

Karns doesn't stand by its meat or customers. On the night of February 14, I requested the butcher to select some fine cuts of NY Strip. Returning home, my wife unwrapped the steaks revealing rotten meat reeking sweetly pungent. We discarded them. When I returned to the store to apprise the manager about what had occurred, he was belligerent, confrontational, denying that there was anything amiss with the meat and, further claimed that I had concocted the story.What has happened to customer service? The manager should have:1) Assumed responsibility and apologized.2) Reaffirmed the quality of the store's meat and invited me to view the meat and select some nice fresh cuts.3) Had a refund been offered, it would have been gladly welcomed - but it was not my intention for informing the manager.The manager's behavior evidences lack of product quality and contempt for the shopper. I discourage anyone from patronizing Karns Mechanicsburg.

Pretty nice store. Had a lot of everything, and I love that they have already cooked foods and their deli and seafood case was absolutely lovely! They even had shrimp boil packs all made up as well as some other interest packs in want to try. I also liked that I could get inexpensive money orders among other things. And liked that the staff and the other shoppers were so nice and helpful....it was my first time shopping there and I'll be visiting them again.

I am very disappointed with the "fresh chix leg quarters". I bought the 10lb. bag. I estimate I cut away atleast 5+ lbs. of garbage. Excess skin, tail, spines and internal organs. Fair warning shoppers. After butchering, I am not even interested in eating it now. Otherwise no complaint about Karns.

never wrote a review on any website until today and my family and I will never shop there again. This was the second time my husband was treated like a criminal and was followed around the store made to feel very uncomfortable. they made him go pay for my meat bundle before he was even allowed to take it from the meat counter. Never in my whole life did I or my family ever have to show a paid receipt before even touching the box. Then the manager gave him a 5 dollar in store coupon for his inconvenience to pay for what was the most horrible cuts of meat like they take all the unsellable pieces and throw them together and try to make it look good. I spend alot of money there but never will again.

While I also enjoy shopping at other local grocery stores, Karns has always been my favorite. They have the best seafood, meat, and speciality items you will not find anywhere else. Their sugar cookies are excellent, especially with fresh sliced strawberries on top! With their saver card, I get $50 of free groceries several times a year. Don't be afraid to try their brands either, many are just as good as or even better than nationally know brands for a fraction of the cost. It's the worth the trip.

First time visit. Easy access and ample parking. Clean well stocked store. Nice looking produce. Employees were friendly and checking out was minimal. Had a few lanes open. Overall a nice store. Would return.

Was contacted by bakery manager Nicole after I applied here, was told my availability was perfect for the shift, she asked if I wanted a interview, I was like yes, of course, I want to work! Now zero response back from her. Do not believe everything you hear and read there are a lot of people out here ready and willing to work, and employers just playing games and wasting people's time, very unprofessional!

Great butcher. Great deli people and all the best stuff you expect from Karns. Grumpy and grouchy man running the hot fried food section was even that way to coworkers....left without his food due to his attitude but the wonderfully happy and helpful cashier brought it back up to a 4 star. Really wanted fish for dinner tonight but next week I will go to my local Karns instead of this one which was just closest to work. Will still go here for anything else...especially the other nice customer service people....and products...will just skip getting Friday fish here.

If you don't go to a butcher to get your meat this the place to go. I have not found anything better. Store prices on grocery are a a little higher than the larger chains. Deli selection is good quality. And there seafood prices are some of the best in the area.

Lots of people standing around, only two registers open and the self checkout was down one station. Counted at least six employees standing around watching. I think they were getting new registers, however, still need to plan better if that is being done during the business day.

I'm giving this specific store a poor rating and not the whole chain. The assortment was terrible. I searched for refrigerated cinnamon rolls and never found them. There were a lot of tired employees who just wanted you to move on at the food counters and there were no lines that they were hurrying off to help others. Aside from the meat, which is the only thing that brings me to Karns ever, the rest of the store is incredibly overpriced. I am very cost conscious and it kills me to buy other items here. I'm sorry, I like to support PA businesses but it's hard to shell out that much more.

I usually take advantage of a sale. To the boneless skinless chicken breast was on sale for a1.79 if you bought 5 lb. Since I'm making chicken cutlets for my daughter's birthday I bought 5 lb and I asked the gentleman behind the counter to cut them into cutlets. He didn't look like he was very happy do it but he said he would. When I got home and took the chicken out of the bag I realize that I think this guy didn't know what the hell he was doing. It look like one piece was cut the rest I had to cut myself. I was trying to eliminate it from the process because making chicken cutlet is a process and it's a long process. I have never had an unpleasant experience in Karns. Their meat is some of the best in the area, their selection is frankly ludicrous (with the meat counter taking up almost the entire back wall), their butchers are phenomenal and knowledgeable, and their staff are great. I don't see the same dead-eyed cashiers I've come to expect at a supermarket. I was also surprised to see them sporting an Eastern European section, with some products I'd never seen before.Their meat section also hosts regular stock-up sales, where you buy somewhere between 30 and 60 pounds of meat for very cheap, with the understanding that you're going to be freezing most of it. That deal got me through college.The only downside is that outside of meat and their E. European section, their selection and prices tend to be inferior to other supermarkets in the area. I come here for meat and occasionally for fish, but I go elsewhere for just about everything else.
