I can't begin to say how GRATEFUL I am for these guys and their fast, clever, and helpful response to the problem at our home - I honestly don't know what we'd have done without them. We currently have a service contract with another company which, for one reason or another, continues to disappoint and let us down. With the torrential rains two weeks ago, our driveway and garage drains backed-up and we had 6+ inches of water in our driveway that needed to go somewhere. Our current company confirmed with us twice and then cancelled both times for different reasons. My brother, who has lived in Pittsburgh for over a decade, recommended A-1 and said that they were able to fix a problem at his previous home when 3 other companies weren't able to, and I trust his judgment fully. When I called to see if they had any availability, the owner called me back and wasn't sure if he'd be able to fit me in while I was off-work, but did his best, and sure enough, I had a crew of two guys at my home two days later. Not only were they both out there, slogging through the mud, snaking the drains, but when it hit a dead end, they then asked if they could dig where they thought it was blocked! No one else I know would have gone that extra mile - I was seriously impressed. They found the issue (a totally unfinished drain line), were able to temporarily fix it, and helped me come up with a few future solutions. I never would have figured this out or gotten this far with my soon-to-be-former service provider. And did I mention that A-1 was almost 3x less-expensive than that other company!? I couldn't believe my luck! I've already recommended them to two other people since then and will continue to do so. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I called Roto Rooter at 6 pm. for a drain clog. It wasn't completely clogged yet, but getting there. So they tell me should be there less than an hr. 2.5 hrs later, nothing. Nobody showed up or called. I called them back. They said that the machine they had was broken and they couldn't come today. So they just were going to not tell me, apparently? The next morning, I called A1. I got a call back from a service tech. I told them what was going on, and they showed up when they said they would. Fixed it in about 15mins. Nice and professional. I should mention I called 2 other services, and no one called back from those companies. Crazy. Price was reasonable also. Don't call anyone else, but these guys.

Deven and Mark came out to clear a drain that another company couldn't. They arrived quick and cleared the blockage in no time. They answered my questions and were very professional. Would recommend to anyone in need of professional and knowledgeable experts to clear their drains! The price was very reasonable as well.

Amazing! Explained everything they were doing and I was able to watch the camera as they explained everything. They snaked the drain from the outside and it was fixed in about an hour. Highly recommend.

Don't like not even having window of arrival time! I'm not sure who they were, only one introduced himself but they tore the bathroom up and did nothing to get it back. Everything was messed up and the floor was soaked!I am disabled and don't know what I would have done if my aide wasn't here! They also didn't listen to me about the address or that there was an overflow pipe outside!

I can't say enough good things about A-1. Fast, efficient...you KNOW what they are charging you in advance....What more can u ask for? AND they have a bumper sticker on the back of the truck that says "Stool Bus." So, they have a sense of humor too!

Josh and his partner arrived on time. I have a duplex and one of the tenants was flushing wipes for about a year so you could imagine the clog. They went above and beyond to take care of the problem. I hope a1 sewer appreciates their employees. Would definitely recommend and hire again.

I will be honest, good value is hard to check ever with plumbing issues because it just expensive regardless! With that being said A1 Sewer, was first to respond to a call request , and completely transparent on their baseline fee. They scheduled and arrived within hours , luckily able to clear the drain quickly and with a 60 day guarantee! Not many people guarantee their work anymore. I would recommend them to others and not hesitate to call them again.

Very pleased with the service. Had called on Tuesday suspecting that I had a line break in my garage sewage line. They worked with my schedule and showed up when they said they would.Junior/Jr was very professional, informed me I had a line break, and pinpointed the break. Very happy from start to finish. No one ever wants to call the plumber, but from the dispatcher, to the pricing to the techs - Mel and Curtis. They were very professional and even provided some education on our 80 year old sewer system on how to help prevent future issues. I would highly recommend A-1 Sewer Cleaning specialist to come out and fix sewage problems. Situation: Long weekend, called plumber that had come to fix sewage 2 weeks prior. No response. Called one of the large plumbing companies and they rescheduled 3 times in day. They stated the could come out until tomorrow. Calling around and the plumbing company I called recommended calling A-1 Sewer Cleaning. I called they were here within 25 minutes of me calling. Monty showed up with his partner and got to work in less than 45 minutes. They came took care of business, charge as quoted and offered a guarantee of 2 months. Yeah! The weekend was saved! Greatly appreciate the professionalism and quick turn around. I would call them again if needed and recommend them to deal with sewage problems. Thank You.

Rob and Adam came yesterday, on Saturday. They were consummate professionals. Very straight forward. I thought that my issue was going to cost thousands of dollars. It was $260. Had main line leak that another person couldn’t clear. He told me I would probably have to tear my basement floor up to repair the pipe. I’m so glad I got a second opinion. Adam and Erik saved my day. Their work really impressed me. We had a basement sewage backup, one of the plumber from other company said none of the cable job work. He gave me a $4400 quote to replace the floor drain. However, we just completely renovated our house 3 years old. Almost all the pipes are new. It should not be that case. I called my contractor and experienced landlord, they said go ahead to make appointment with A1. They are really specialists. Thankfully, I made the right decision. I called A1 and after one hour of my call, technician returned call to me and promised they would come to fix the issue. They are very experienced and knowledgeable. They quickly found the way and cable went through the basement drain and came out to the house vent side. 40-minutes work, they saved me $4400. Really impressive. They told me it was a normal case in my area, they did a lot similar job. They just tried and made the cable to the right direction. Next time if I meet any complicated or sever issues of the sewage or plumbing, I will directly call A1, even I need to wait. Don't waste money and time to hire other technician. A1 work worth every penny. I am really happy for their work today. Appreciated!

I called A-1 sewer company to get help with a clogged line. Downstairs bathroom to garage.They were able to make it on same day service as everyone was backed with recent heavy rain problems.Josh and Tommy did a professional, excellent job!Both were very friendly & knowledgeable.They were in & out in a timely fashion.Price was comparable, better than, and or market value.I would definitely use them again, strongly recommend for anyone looking for quality work, good value, and for work to be done in a timely matter along with emergency calls!!JohnWest Mifflin, PA

I live in an apartment and our tub was draining slowly, so the office/maintenance team called A1, they showed up and they were KIDS. They weren’t able to fix it the first day (Tuesday) because they said they needed a special key to open an access panel and they’d be back the following day when Maintenance would be able to give them the key. I specifically took off on Tuesday to finally have Turns out the “key” was a flat head screwdriver….this should have been my second clue. So they come back on Saturday and within 10 minutes of accessing the panel and making another mess they say they’re unable to do anything because of what the pipes are made of. Like what? Every time they left there was an excuse as to why they’re unable to fix it. Not only did they leave a huge mess every time they were here, their incompetence was glaringly obvious. An hour after they left another plumber arrived- who was not a child- and literally fixed the drain in 20 minutes. I usually don’t write reviews but this entire experience has been stressful and it’s very concerning that A1 Sewer sends out such incompetent “specialists” and expects that to be okay. They were not only unprofessional, but it was obvious they were not very experienced even though you’d never know that from what they charged for coming out here twice. I would give them ZERO STARS if I could. Horrible customer service and I couldn’t recommend them less, save your money for a REAL PLUMBER.

We had 2 others to come and try to unclog our sewer. They were unsuccessful. Figured third times a charm before we pd for a major job. They came in and had it cleared in 15 mins start to finish. I recommend these guys 1000x over. Very professional and if they don't clear it there's no charge.

Excellent service! The two man team arrived just one hour after my phone call to A1, they were knowledgeable, professional and very reasonably priced.June 7, 2023- update to my review of six years ago for the same basement drain cleared back then. I noticed it was draining slowly so I called A-1. Rob and Adam came out the next day and said it looked like the p- trap needed to be plunged and I’ll be fine. They did that and poured plenty of water down the drain, and also checked the main house trap, flushed all the toilets and all is good to go! No charge as well, shocking! A1 is the best! They are my goto drain specialists. They did a gutter downspout drain a few years back, that was done perfectly as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

They were quick and thorough, Monty and Mack identified the problem and addressed the issue in amazing time and were professional and courteous. We have an odd plumbimg set up in our basement. We had a backup/clog that another plumber couldn't get fixed. That plumber said we needed to rebuild the whole thing. I thought that was a bit preemptive and my friend recommended A1. I called them and we scheduled for the next day. 2 guys showed up and spent a few munutes assesing the situation before returning to the truck to retrieve some equipment. They had the clog resolved within 10 munutes after that. 10 minutes and $239 as opposed to a giant rebuild costing thousands was definitely worth the call to A1.

My family has been using A-1 Sewer Cleaning Specialists for years. We called them, they were upfront with their pricing, and unclogged our downpipe. They arrived when they said they would and did what they said they would do. Yes, it cost a few hundred dollars. Another well advertised plumbing company in the area gave us a 4000 dollar plus quote to perform an exploratory dig that would take 2 days to perform. Then, this other company would give us another price to fix the pipe after the exploratory dig. A-1 unclogged the right way. They were honest and efficient. THANK YOU A-1! We give that other company the bird and 2 thumbs up to A-1.

I had a clogged drain and wasn’t able use my only bathroom. The dispatcher gave me clear pricing so I knew what to expect going in. They sent Mel and Shane out the same day. Both were knowledgeable and professional. The clog was tricky and they ended up going the extra mile (going as far as to go through the vent on my roof). As a single mom with two teenagers I appreciate their kindness and attitude to do whatever was needed to get the job done. They cleaned up after they were done as well, and the final bill was exactly what I was quoted.
