Have been coming here for my entire life. Every meal I’ve had here has been good. Servers are always attentive and kind. The atmosphere is that of a family owned establishment. They serve homemade rolls with dinners, one of my favorite parts of coming to Curt’s! Whether you’re looking for a home cooked meal, a quick meal while traveling on 40, or just an affordable meal, Curt’s is the best choice. They also have great baked goods! Their salads are a perfect portion size, I always get one as a side. Would recommend eating at Curt’s to anyone looking for a restaurant in the mountains!Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps coming from multiple ways. Very accessible!

My wife and I stopped by the restaurant for lunch while on a road trip through Pennsylvania. We had a great lunch with very good food, large portion sizes, modest prices and friendly service. I had the steak salad ($13.00) and my wife had the lunch special ($8.25) which included a large bowl of bean & ham soup and a grilled ham & cheese sandwich.

The baked goods here are awesome but the dinners were all served cold. Then the server microwaved them one at a time to reheat them. The manager was very apologetic.I would definitely go there again but only get the pies and rolls.

We heard good things about Curt’s so we decided to give it a try. It starts with a special of kraut dogs with fries. I think I’ll have that. Sorry we’re all out. Ok my sis wants onion rings and coleslaw. Waitress returns, we’re out of onion rings. Ok fries instead. Comes back, we’re out of coleslaw. Never-mind haha. Wife orders combination sandwich and potato chips. Sandwich is burnt to a crisp and the chips are all crumbs from the bottom of the bag. Roast beef meal was fine and the prime rib sandwich was tasty, but there wasn’t any meat on it to speak of. More Mayo than meat. Service was ok but not very friendly. Waitress was eating at the counter and I had to flag her down to take the order. Once she took the order she stopped and ate some more before turning it in. Prices are high and they limit you to refills on pop and iced tea. The drinks cost $3.15. Fountain drinks cost a restaurant about a penny. So go figure. Anyhow, it was clean enough and all, but the food and service did not warrant a return trip or a recommendation.

Curt's is the small town local comfort food restaurant that big chain restaurants fail to copy. The atmosphere is that of a family reunion and the food is amazing. Our server, Kami, was spectacular. She was friendly, attentive, and always on the move. None of her tables lacked for anything at any time. The rolls were the size of a loaf of bread and as soft as if they had just been pulled from the oven. If you're in Markleysburg, stop in. If you're on your way to somewhere else and pass by, stop in. If you need a good excuse for a pleasant drive with home cooking, stop in. For me, Curt's puts Markleysburg on the map!

This is a great family restaurant. You don't wait to be seated. Just walk in and pick a table and have a seat. The food is great quality. They make everything fresh. Nothing from a box or freezer. They have fresh baked goods for purchase. The dinner rolls are huge and delicious! If your looking for a good place to take the kids or your elderly parents this is a great spot!

My husband and I have been going here for years the food and service is always good, just had the meat loaf dinner was excellent. Prices are very good, while all other restraunts are raising prices like crazy Curt has not, and it is understandable if you have to wait a little some times if you can't get enough help, believe me it's worth the wait.

Rule 1: Start every meal here with a piece of fruit pie.I come here for pie, breakfast, the turkey dinner, and pie. Food is 5 stars, for an American diner. It's not greasy and is always fresh. Wait staff are fun and actually care, which is amazing post COVID that anyone cares at all about customer service.

Awesome home cooked meals, huge rolls, many different pies and deserts and very reasonably priced. Nice sized portions so if you leave hungry there's something wrong...It's clean and well kept inside nice people and worth the visit.Parking: Nice large parking lot, plenty of roomWheelchair accessibility: Entrance to the front door is a ramp so everyone has access to the restaurant

Our recent experience at Curts Family Restaurant in Markleysburg, PA left us utterly dismayed and deeply dissatisfied. The combination of lackluster food, disrespectful service, and a series of baffling inconsistencies made for an evening that was far from enjoyable. Food Quality and Taste: The food was shockingly bland and unimpressive, falling far short of any expectations. Every dish tasted mediocre and lacked any remarkable flavors. To our disappointment, even the attempt to be environmentally conscious fell flat at Curts Family Restaurant. The paper straws provided were ineffective, quickly deteriorating and becoming unusable. The rolls used to be brought out to the table with every meal but now you have to request them, and then the rolls were brought out cold. Still tasty but most restaurants serve hot bread...Waitstaff Behavior: The waitress named Berta displayed an astonishingly rude and unwelcoming attitude. Instead of providing courteous service, she seemed to go out of her way to make us uncomfortable.Inconsistent Seating Policy: We were informed that our two-year-old children couldn't sit on our laps, and chairs couldn't be placed at the end of the table. This rule, however, was selectively enforced, as another couple with children were allowed to disregard it, causing chaos. Despite our group being reprimanded for minor child-related issues, another couple's child was allowed to run amok without any consequences or intervention from the staff.Frozen Salad Bar and Indifferent Response: The salad bar was stocked with frozen items, demonstrating a clear disregard for quality and freshness. When we informed the waitress, she dismissively responded with a mere "yep," showing complete apathy.Lack of Coordination, Rudeness and Unprofessional Communication: When inquiring about our to-go order, a different waitress responded rudely, claiming she wasn't responsible for our table. Her dismissive behavior added to the already frustrating experience. And then instead of approaching us directly, Berta yelled across the room to announce our order was placed. This lack of professionalism further compounded the unpleasant experience.Incorrect Billing and Argumentative Attitude: One person in our group was charged the price of an adult meal, despite ordering a children's portion. When we brought this up with Berta, she engaged in an argument and refused to adjust the price, using a flimsy excuse about the size of the portion. For background they were out of Pasta sauce but the child who ordered it (was clearly a child) didn’t want the pasta sauce anyway, so we proceeded to order the pasta plain. Which was honestly about .45cents worth of pasta. So even after that they still charged the price as if it was an adult meal.Deceptive Tip Handling: In light of receiving abysmal service, we chose not to leave a tip due to the overall poor experience. To our shock, Berta apparently took it upon herself to add a tip to our bill without our consent, and the bank confirmed the unauthorized charge. When confronted about it about it the waitress printed off another receipt showing the initial charge. It wasn’t until about 2 hours later the bank showed the corrected amount. This was very clearly a disgruntled employee taking it upon herself to commit fraud despite her shortcomings as a waitress.Throughout our visit, there was no sign of management presence or willingness to address the numerous issues we faced. This lack of accountability speaks volumes about the establishment's disregard for customer satisfaction. In summary, our visit to this restaurant was an absolute disaster. From the tasteless food and inconsistent policies to the rude staff and deceitful practices, it was an evening of disappointment and frustration. We strongly advise anyone considering dining here to look elsewhere for a more enjoyable experience. Berta you get NO STARS. Curt’s family Restaurant you get 1 star but only because your rolls are decent. Don’t go here pick somewhere else.

The food was ok. The restaurant was clean but it smelled like they have laundry dryer sheets in the air vents. I had a chicken salad which was ok but my husband had the veal and it was terrible. It was extremely overcooked. They did make him another plate but that veal was just a bit less cooked.

Stopped with my daughter for a quick bite to eat. Never been here before. The staff is nice and the food is good. Menu is limited but very good. Homemade rolls and pies that you can purchase to take home for later.

Food has good flavor but was completely cold including the French fries. The waitress dropped the food off and never checked back. When we paid at the cash register she never asked if everything was good. Did not get desserts because we didn’t want to be disappointed. I’d give them another try if I’m in the area again but would hope for a different waitress.

I am very pickey about my spaghetti sauce but Curt's nailed it, meatballs are delicious, ground beef steaks are moist and plentiful, salads and soup & salad bar are just great. Here is some of the menu..also specials change daily, don't forget to try and take home some rolls and pie! Menu prices due very usually less than what is on the menu.

$17 for a little Buffet was not worth it, $20 w/ a drink. The food is average, kinda like bland generic homemade stuff. Everyone talks about the big dinner buns, which are good, but maybe designed to save them money, bc 1 or 2 will really curve an appetite for a Buffet. Idk about the regular meals or breakfast, but I'd never pay so much for so little again..

Food was mostly good (kids meal burger was burnt). The server also did a fantastic job. The problem? We had 9 people, which included a 6 month old infant. The sign said to "seat yourself". In addition to being stared (glared?) at by the staff behind the counter, they wouldn't let us all sit together at the same table, even though there would have been plenty of room. The manager (an older, thin lady who seemed to have waited for this moment her whole life), came over to tell us that we could only seat 8 at the table and the infant made it 9. The restaurant was not full. (And even if it was, we would have been saving them a table.) They wouldn't let us push two tables together, even though there was an abundance of space. So we put 3 kids (9 and under) at one table with grandma and then at another table (which wasn't immediately next to it), and 4 adults plus an infant at the other table. So much for a "family restaurant". The ambiance of the restaurant was quiet. Again, the food was delicious. The hoagie roll, burger bun, and hot dog buns appeared to have been homemade and were tasty. It was simply the non-understanding, inflexible, rule-sticker-to-a-fault manager that soured the mood from the beginning. Plus, they had paper straws. Would NOT recommend for a family because of the atmosphere brought on by the manager.

Food was just ok. The buffet is very small, though it does include pie. The dinner was overcooked and small portions. Lastly the service was very slow for such a small dining room. All of the servers were moving around looking busy, but we waited quite a while for drinks and then food. The pie is very good, though.

Walked in at 10:00 when they opened. Order a cheese omelet and eggs over easy. 25 minutes later, when people who came in after us had their food, I ask where our food was. Waitress said that omelets take awhile, which is what the other people were eating, and that she's not the one cooking. At 45 minutes our food arrived and was told they took everything off the bill. Never saw our waitress again for more coffee. Bad case of attitude!! Wont be going back.

Food was disgusting and their were flys around the restaurant and even landed in my food, I had the pasta with meat sauce and the sauce was too sweet and pasta was very overcooked. We were served over priced rolls that were served cold. There is a fee for paying with card. The carpet was dirty and the general atmosphere was dingy and ugly. Over priced and poorly made food. Would not recommend.

Edit**** Well I gave it one last try. Now I’m done. Got a blt with 3 slices of undercooked bacon , one piece of lettuce and tomato on one half and none on the other on half toasted mush bread. Total garbage.Always liked coming here for years, but now it has gone down hill. They don’t open until 10am. So much for breakfast. The last couple times we went it took about 45min to get our food. Breakfast food. There was about 12 people in there. We walked in right at a10 when they opened. The waitress even apologized. I don’t understand the whole 10 am thing. We found a new spot in confluence that opens at 8am for breakfast. I’m not going to eat breakfast at 10 am and wait until 11 to get my food. Also it’s 2023, update the menu!!!! And let people tip on a card!!!!! I don’t know how they are still open honestly. I wish lonestar or glisans was still open.

Will Never go back there. Never got to order food. Waitress was the worse and RUDE!!! All three waitesses watch us come in seat ourselves and move another chair to our table. The cook or owner watched us move the chair never said a word, until the waitress spoke to him. then he got rude and said that 5 people cant be at that table because one of his waitresses dumped a hot drink on a baby. Told us we would have to take two booths or leave. I told him I didn't drive four hours to visit my sister and brother in law to seat at different tables. We asked to put two tables together he said no we left and went down the road had great food and wonderful service. One star is to much.

We had a very good meal here. Service was good, place very clean. We decided to get some pastry on the way out. Based on previous review on cinnamon rolls we purchased 6. 3 maple and 3 with white icing. Let me say the maple were unedible. Had to throw them out. The maple icing was just a runny sugary mess on top, bottom and made the roll seem like it was not baked. Sad as I was looking forward to them. Beware. Hopefully the situation will be corrected for t he next customer. A bit of icing would keep the roll more like the cake it should be.
