We have had nothing but great experience after great experience at What A Good Dog from Manners Level 1, Manners Level 2 with our Chocolate Lab puppy, Day Care and soon to be boarding. Thank you SOO much for the friendliest staff, the most educated dog trainers, and the warmest welcome every stretch of the way.

I've boarded my dogs here several times over the years. Every time there was an incident. The first time I received a call saying my dog had kennel cough and they wanted to take him to a vet. He did not have kennel cough. He was coughing because of the collar they tied around his neck. Another time my dog came back with a broken tooth. Nobody mentioned this to me. It resulted in a $1200 extraction. They also didn't tell me about the 15% service fee until I was picking up my dogs. As others have said, the lady at the front desk (who I think is the owner) is very rude.

I have been a customer of WAGD off and on over the years. It’s not the care of my dog that is so discouraging, it’s their treatment of me! I stopped going completely for several years because I couldn’t get a human on the phone to answer a question or two and even after leaving a message they didn’t respond. But I needed to board my dog and it’s convenient so I decided to give them a try again. They sent me an email with paperwork and I completed and submitted but not in the 72 hours prior requested and they charged me $25.00. I didn’t even see the demand at first. But after all I’m human and make mistakes. So I noticed it the evening before and I did get it in. I then had my vet email them the vax records and they couldn’t find them at first. But I can forgive human error but apparently WAGD can’t. I feel that it’s pretty punitive to assess that kind of service fee. They obviously don’t need my business. So once again I won’t be using WAGD! Oh and also, there’s another $25.00 randomly assessed. For what I don’t know!

Poor communication/disappointing boarding experience for 7 month old puppyIn addition to all the up-charges ($15 for each activity - nothing included beyond giving the dog a place to sleep, feeding her the food you bring, and letting her outside for the bathroom), the administrative staff made this a very stressful experience, namely due to poor communication both among themselves and with clients. There were several contradictions and confusions:(1) I was emailed forms to complete less than 48 hours before the tour that I thought were for the boarding reservation itself, but upon our arrival for the tour the staff expected them all to be completed beforehand so I had to sit in the lobby filling out 15 mins worth of paperwork, making our tour extend beyond the time allotted, in the middle of a workday. FYI you need a printer - the forms must be filled in by hand, as they are not in an editable/fill in the blank PDF format or available online. It was our first time there and already the front desk was annoyed.(2) On the tour there was no mention about the up-charges for all the activities they offer. I’ve never boarded a dog before so I didn’t even think to ask if there was an additional charge. It’s probably included in the fine print somewhere in the paperwork, but to take you on a tour of the facility and boast all the offerings and neglect to mention they’re not actually included in the stay was not the right thing to do.(3) I was told on the phone before the tour that normally the tour includes dropping the dog off so they can acclimate but because of the uptick in kennel cough they weren’t doing that. I was surprised and unprepared when we arrived for the tour and they asked when we’d be by to pick her back up later that day.(4) At the end of our tour I confirmed the drop-off and pick-up times for boarding. I was told 9am for drop-off and that it was flexible, so long as it was within a general 9-10am window. On the day of drop-off, we arrived at 9:20am and the admin staff stated they operate in 15 min drop-off windows and was not pleased at our arrival time - same grumpy front desk lady - or the fact that we showed up without a PA dog license, even though as I told them during the tour and as is shown in our paperwork, we do not live in PA.(5) The day of drop-off I confirmed for the second time that pick-up could be any time before 1pm. You can imagine I was then very surprised and stressed when I called the day of pick-up to let them know we were en route and they told me that they are closed from 12-1. I raced to get there, arriving at 11:50am.(6) I figured that even if the admin aspect was less than ideal, at least our dog would be well cared for but I have not a shred of insight as to whether or not that was the case. Our dog was only there one night and the two staff who walked her out to meet us in the lobby couldn’t tell us anything about her stay. We paid $15 extra for her to have a playdate with another dog and the two staff members told us they weren’t working the day before so they don’t know who she played with nor how it went (or if it didn’t work out and she instead did a different activity.) All they could share is that she pulls a lot and told me to get a harness. Since our dog wasn’t signed up for the $15 walks I can only assume that their experience “walking” her was the 30 seconds it took to get her from her room to the front lobby. With no staff communication as to how her stay went I can only assume it didn’t go well, as they handed our dog back to us incredibly anxious - she was pulling and jumping and has never behaved even remotely that poorly. I went into this experience thinking we’d pay $65 and ended up spending $92 (in addition to the $15 up-charge for the playdate, apparently there’s a 15% administrative fee which brought the $80 total to $92) and, more importantly than the cost, I didn’t get any indication as to how my 7 month old pup who had never been boarded before actually did during her stay.

Caring and professional people. We have loved their dog training, and daycare. My 5 month old puppy came back from daycare calm and happy! Highly recommend. So glad to have found them.

We had such a wonderful experience when our dog stayed at What A Good Dog, we recommend their services to everyone. While the location is a bit off the beaten path, we found the property to be in wonderful clean shape, the people who work there super friendly and caring, and they gave our dog personalized service. You could tell that the people there really enjoy what they are doing. They were accommodating to our schedules and helpful when we needed to reschedule. The best!

My very nervous dog is surprisedly calm when I pick him up - he must get plenty of fun time and/or it must not be too stressful there (noise level, play group, etc). However, they often make mistakes with food, belongings, billing, etc. and some of the front office folks are unpleasant.

Always the BEST care. We've been using WAGD for 11yrs and wouldn't take him anywhere else. We had some sad family business to take care of and had to board Bailey for two weeks. It was a blessing to know our "kid" was in good hands.

Our dogs love it here. We tend to leave them for a couple of weeks every summer. I always get updates on how they are doing. Last summer, one of my dogs wasnt eating well and losing weight. What a good dog team called me and we figured a way to change that. They take good care of them; weight and health check everyday. well done! Quite pricey though especially when you need long stays.

Boarded our puppy here for a week while we were on vacation. Tried to call several times while away to checkin him. No one answers the phones! Left a message for some to call me and no one ever returned my call. The woman at the front desk was very rude when we dropped him off. When we returned to pick him up, there was another rude woman working the front desk. I mentioned that I had called several times and left a message to have someone call me and that no one did. She said she would make a note if it but never apologized. They brought our puppy out to us and never even mentioned how he did. It was like they were happy to see us go. Needless to say we WILL NOT be back!!

I wanted to give this place a try. My neighbors recommend this place and my dog's friends come here. Starting with the day of my dog's evaluation, it was very difficult communicating with the staff. No one answers the phone, no one returns messages and everyone seems frantic and busy elsewhere when I arrived. I finally got him evaluated and made a recurring reservation which was confirmed by 2 people and an email. When I arrived, the staff was again disorganized, not answering the phones and couldn't find my reservation. I pointed this out in a friendly way to the staff. I got a call later in the day stating there were no openings for my dog on a weekly basis, "they were full".Moral of the story... Buyer Beware - If you use this place, be sure to overlook basic business organization, common curtesy in explaining pricing and policies, and pander to their ego by singing their praises...or you too will find that they are "full".

WARNING! I dropped my dog off here for six days. He had no preexisting conditions. When I picked him up he wasn’t eating and very sick. He was diagnosed with hemorrhagic gastroenteritis AND hematoma in his right ear. He spent 3 days in hospital and I have almost $1200 in vet bills. Left a VM asking for response and they ignored it. IPhysically had to go there to get information. The reports were incomplete and missing. They tried to say it was “stress.” After coming here for 7 years, will never come back. Also, older lady at front with short hair is the rudest, coldest person. I hate dealing with her and pray I don’t get her for drop off. She needs to be no where around customers

My dog has been groomed twice at WAGD as well as boarded for a few days. I cannot say enough positive things about them. The groomer did a great job with His Furriness. They accepted my dog-with-attitude and made his stay enjoyable. He practically dragged me in there when it was time for grooming a few days ago. Very accommodating and understanding, they worked with him and his insecurities to make an enjoyable experience for our dog.

This place is absolutely amazing. It's far more than a daycare for dogs. They have training for every need you could possibly have with your dog. My daughter trained her service dog there with them herself. They also have huge Hearts the owner was amazing more than I can say but they were extremely kind to us and I'd recommend them to anyone

Such a great facility for doggy day care or boarding. The staff is super friendly and gets to know you and your dogs by name. When your dogs get SO EXCITED as you turn down the street, you know they love it! Definitely puts my mind at ease.

We recently became clients of What A Good Dog. Our former daycare was nice, but too small for my large, and active, dogs. We have been so impressed with the staff and the facility at What A Good Dog. We can tell our dogs love it. Our 15 month old puppy is getting the exercise he desperately needed, and our 6 year old "mature" dog gets to play at her own pace.I would recommend What A Good Dog to anyone who is looking for the best in daycare for their four legged friends. We recently boarded our babies at What A Good Dog for several nights in a row. The staff was wonderful and didn't mind our phone calls and inquiries as to how they were doing. We start Basic Obedience class with the puppy this week.Take a drive by the location in Frazer. You'll be impressed!

All of our pups have been at and through WAGD. The day care team is great to assess each dog and figure out the right socialization for each. Everyone is not place in a general area for play. Our 1 is high energy and she has a standing group with which she plays. Our oldest doesnt like a lot of dogs around so he tends to be in a separate area with few if any dogs. They take into consideration their temperament, age, size, etc. Boarding and training services are also top notch. The staff knows the differences between our 3 dogs and it's been a godsend to help foster socialization in one and burn energy for another.

I took my 7 month old rescue puppy Rosie to What a Good Dog for a pre-boarding, 4 hour day care. Rosie is normally very shy, timid and skittish around people she doesn't know. The staff here is so caring and engaging that immediately Rosie felt comfortable and was interacting with everyone. This facility has a wonderful vibe that's evident the moment you walk through the doors. The front desk ladies couldn't have been nicer and the folks that take care of the dogs truly seem to love what they're doing. I dealt with Devon who was so sweet. She asked lots of questions so she could place Rosie with dogs to play with that were of similar temperament and energy level. Rosie had a wonderful time playing with the other dogs and was happy and exhausted when I picked her up. I can't say enough good things about What a Good Dog!!

We ❤️ What a Good Dog! When Max was younger he used to stay and loved the playtime and love from the staff! Now he goes in for a groom with Alex. She is the most wonderful groomer, she’s so sweet and truly enjoys what she does! We can’t say enough great things about What a Good Dog and Alex the groomer💕

These people know dogs. No prong collars or E-Collars to control your dog, and yes we have a high energy dog who is a German Short Haired Pointer. They take a completely positive approach to helping us engage with our family members. You will not only learn to train your dog but you will learn the psyche of the dog, how they think, how they behave and why they do what they do.Hands down the Best training program I have ever encountered. If your dog needs training go to the place that truly understands dogs!

Best place for training your dog, my wife and I have 2 dogs and they both have gone here. Mary and Gail are 2 of the best trainers we could have possibly had. We tell everyone about What A Good dog. Thanks again

The front desk staff is extremely rude; when my dog was a puppy he had a lot of energy and when we would bring him in everyone would be very passive- aggressive and made it clear they disliked my dog. The fee increases are absolutely ridiculous. I could get my dog a hotel room at the Hilton for the price I paid for one night.

We took our dog with neurological and aggression issues to WAGD a few years back and had an awful experience. While we're all about positive reinforcement and the like, when you have a dog who is aggressive with issues, you can't train without correction. The advice and training we received here caused our dog to regress from the 2 years of work we had already done. I would NOT recommend this place for dogs with any serious issues.
