New store. Very modern and clean. A bit dim in spots but overall very good. Nice staff. Adequate parking. Difficult to cross both lanes when turning in or out.

I am so glad I was asked to share about my local Dollar General which is located on S. Dorcas St, Lewistown Pa 17044. First of all, it is not the employees of this store that are at fault. It is their corporate office and the owner of the plaza that the Dollar General rents from. This store is moving to a new location once the new store is built but this issue has been going on for at least 5+ years. Rumor has it that the Giant Food Store (in same plaza) refuses to fix the leaky roof because they want DG to move out. Is the safety of their employees and customers not a factor in this matter?! This store has been placing buckets on the floor to catch rain water for years, yet somehow oddly the Giant store NEVER has buckets on their floors. I don't know exactly who is at fault for this, whether it's Giant Food, Dollar General Corp. or the actual owner of the property, but I'd like to put them all responsible for the condition of this store! It's disgraceful!

Great place to go to grab things and go! Prices are pretty good on most everything. I run here quickly and get what I need! Especially if I don't feel like going to Walmart!I can't go in this store and walk out empty handed!Cannot walk into this store without finding the cutest decor!I have to wear blinders! I can't ever go in and get just what i came for!Lots of country and modern decor for every room in your house!There's literally a Dollar General about every 10 Miles or so!

Not my first choice for shopping, but it does suffice when I need a quick snack or soft drink. The word "general" in the store name is far from being true as most of the items are generally overpriced and kind of expensive for what they are. The staff seem friendly and are always kind enough to help when the customer is in need of assistance locating a specific item. The store cleanliness could be better and the overall appearance could use a little work. Other than that it's not a bad place to go when passing through town.

The cashier wasn't very nice. She shoved my change in my hand so hard that I actually have a small red mark on the palm of my hand. I have never had a problem there before, everyone else is always so nice and cheerful and helpful.

Its always fully stocked toilet paper n paper towels plenty of frozen goodies ,however I would have given them a 5 star if they wore a mask a couple of clerks do not .

This is my favorite Dollar General Store. They have everything that you need and the employees are very nice... the reason I gave it four stars is because they took away their clothing line which I think is stupid they had some pretty decent clothes there

It is a great store some days when there isn't a line going the hole way to the back end of the store. And that will happen cause only one person is at the register while 3-4 other workers take there time screwing around unpacking new items. I'm referring to the DG on Dorcas St, Lewistown PA. The customer service is terrible!!

Nice clean store with a variety of things to buy. Service was good. Only problem is the location where you pull in and out of the store parking lot. Lots of traffic.

Everytime I go there something is messed up. Even if I use regular coupons and only about 7 coupons. Today they said they took an item off that they charged me for, but it wasn't it was so messed up, I just returned everything

Can ever get through the isles. Carts loaded with goods waiting to be stocked. It's every store I have been in. It's a shame when you can't get through to look at stuff.

Was in this store earlier today and saw a lady with an oxygen mask on and the employees wouldn’t let her enter unless she had a cloth mask. The lady very clearly couldn’t wear a cloth mask do to her breathing mask. These employees were very rude to her.

I got the app and I still spend too much their. And the spend $25.00 , just on weekends is crazy. But it's my opinion 🤷 on its should be a everyday savings. 😏

It's obviously no Walmart, but the new store is quite large and has nearly everything you can think of. -1⭐ because there's less parking spaces now.

Water buckets all over the floors and the celling is leaking everywhere and they are not wanting to fix it because they are moving in a couple of months pretty much if you don't mind it then your all set but you will have to worry about mildew in the warmer months

Your typical Dollar General. Usually a line as most times there is just one register. Located right next to the Giant so they compliment each other as far as having most things needed for around the house
