Hot place for aquarium trade! Top of the line name brands in equipment. Prices match for top quality goods. Never walk out without spending over $100. You get like a point per dollar. I cash it in around$20. Nice, clean sleek aquariums in rear. I've never checked out freshwater side only slt water/reef side. Occasionally low in inventory on saltwater fish. Hit or miss. Idk delivery times. Some staff know it all, not in the cocky way. Others hand you off to who has better knowledge for you. I'd be at a loss if the hidden reef wasn't there.

As a hobbyist of both fish and reptiles I am an occasional customer at Hidden Reef. I genuinely wish I could give this establishment a higher score as they have excellent prices, a wide variety of supplies and decor, great store layout, and from what I’ve seen they have a fairly healthy and well stocked fish room. Unfortunately, that is where the good ends. My two biggest disappointments with this store are both the employees and care for their reptiles. The employee interactions I’ve had in the past few times I’ve been there were lacking to say the least. For one, good luck finding anyone to help you. Most employees are younger and do not wear a store uniform. In my experience, employees act like you are bothering them when you ask a question, and especially when you go to the check out. The cashier who rung me up today hardly acknowledged my existence. She didn’t say hello, how are you, have a good one, nothing. All I got was the price and if I needed a bag. Another time I asked for a tank price and if the one they had in the back was available. I got an eye roll and was told the tank was broke. I asked another employee and he said the tank was totally fine and was in fact for sale. Glad I didn’t waste my time and not ask the other employee. I drive 45-60 minutes to get to your store. I would appreciate better customer service, especially considering I spend a couple hundred dollars there each trip. Furthermore, the person in charge of the reptiles should be ashamed of themselves. Each time I’ve been to the store over the past few months, I’ve seen empty water dishes, piles of dried up poop, dried up greens that look like they’ve been sitting for weeks, dry enclosures, snake sheds that just sit there and dry up inside of the water dishes, etc… Just today, I noticed they have still yet to clean the tortoise enclosure that has been empty for a little bit now. The food was still rotting inside! I have no issue purchasing tanks, heat bulbs, artificial plants, etc, but there is no chance I’d risk purchasing any reptiles from this store. The display fish tanks around the store look fantastic (especially the dragon eel tank) and well maintained, why isn’t this the same with the reptiles? Fix those two things and this store would be perfect!

I’ve been visiting this place for several years now. It’s a fun place to take the kids to see different types of fish and reptiles. The staff are always super friendly and knowledgeable. They are willing to answer any questions we have. The fish and animals are well cared for and their habitats are always kept clean. Hidden Reef will be a top choice when looking to meet aquarium needs in the future.

This place is bad@ss and offers EVERYTHING you need for your tank. It is enormous, carries all products, and there are two giant areas to pick out your favorite fish. Every tank is immaculate and well maintained. I know when I buy anything from here, I'm 100% good to go. They'll even test your water parameters to help you make needed adjustments for a successful tank. I go on a weekly basis just because the store is amazing.

Don't waste your time going to precious pets or pets plus to buy diseased/parasitic ridden fish that'll die shortly after. Hidden reef has the healthiest fish I've seen in many a year. The twins were great, knew their stuff and went above other aquatic retailers. I also really appreciate the care their dealers took raising their stock.

Awesome fish shop with a wide variety of freshwater and saltwater fish. They take really good care of them and also have a ton of plants. We bought dwarf pea puffer fish from here and 4/5 are still alive 6 months later.

I come here all the time for my fish needs; generally never have any issues besides live aquatic plants not making it. The reptile section of this store however, is horrible. A few weeks ago, I came in on the weekend and noticed quite a few of the reptiles water bowls were empty, as well as one extremely sick boa with very obvious stuck shed, a large gash on its nose and mucus all over the glass. I returned the following weekend and was greeted with more than HALF OF THE WATER BOWLS IN ALL OF THE ENCLOSURES BONE DRY. The same extremely sick boa STILL DID NOT HAVE WATER and has very bad mouth and scale rot. Extremely inhumane practices with their reptiles, please surrender them to a reptile rescue or someone that can properly take care of them.

Always been a fan of The hidden reef. I used to go to their old store back on Roosevelt boulevard. Unfortunately their saltwater tanks have taken hits over the years. And they don't stuck nearly as many corals. Still an all-in-one shop though.

Great place to get anything fish, reptile, aquarium and pond equipment. Staff are knowledgeable and polite. So far they’ve beat anybody’s price on the equipment I’ve needed for my American alligator including Amazon. I spoke with Shawn he guided me through what uvb light I should be running and educated me on a couple other topics.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade and and continue to do so. Biggest most stocked aquarium store I’ve ever seen. I would give it four stars if they had more staff and friendlier customer service. Many of us are spending hundreds of dollars each time we go and the cashiers have an attitude as if you were buying a cheese burger at McDonald’s for $2. Lastly some times I go and they are fully stocked while other times many of the tanks are empty.

The guy helping us was very nice and informed about fish. But when he didn’t know about air pumps and went to ask the manager, the manager gave him a quick answer and sent him to the aisle. We followed him and specifically asked if we needed anything else to run the air pump. He said that everything we need was in the box. We even asked if we put it under gravel and he said “no but you can put gravel around it”. Turns out the part we bought does not even go into the tank. It’s the outside plug in and we needed to buy the air stick and tubing and a valve. So we get home (we don’t live close) and have nothing we need to run the air pump and none of the parts that even go into the water when we specifically asked if we had everything we needed. Wish the manager just came over and helped us since the guy admittedly did not know about the air pumps. Now we have to waste our time and gas and go back out to get what we need. Super frustrating.

Helpful staff, stocked inventory, good prices, plenty of parking, and kept clean. Best aquarium, terrarium, and pond supply store in the area. They always carry an interesting stock of fish in their tanks that you wouldnt be able to find anywhere else unless you drove all the way to lancaster to That Fish Place. I rarely leave the store empty handed

I'm most impressed with the customer service here. The selection is huge. The prices are on point or cheaper than the competition on many items I noticed. What separates this place from the rest is the owner takes part in the day to day operations and is available for any problems you may incur. Very reasonable and a very good experience dealing with this store. This is my favorite place for aquarium supplies and aquarium fish. They have the biggest selection of equipment and fish I seen in the state of Pennsylvania. Located close off I95 exit on the Bristol exit. Conveniently located near me. The owner was even kind enough to jump start my car when the battery died In the parking lot. Refused money when offered and was happy to get my car running. I'm a customer for life now. Thank you for the excellent service The Hidden Reef...Salute.

Absolutely horrible. This place should be called Forbidden Reef. I’m truly advising everyone to save your money and heartache and don’t shop here. They sold me 2 sick discus… The associate assured me that I’d be able to return them if necessary, because they were on the more expensive side. Unfortunately the fish didn’t make it, and they made my other fish sick as well which costed more over $1000+. The “General manager” is a joke, he has the worst customer service and least amount of empathy than anyone I’ve ever talked to. I was a GM for over a decade and would never treat customers the way he spoke to me. He was so incredibly condescending and since the receipt stated “no returns” I’m supposed to understand that policy, how can you advertise that there are no returns after the point of sale when a return would be too late? They sold sick fish and can’t afford a $100 refund when they make well over that in minutes? So greedy, rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. The entire staff needs a sensitivity training day and all customers should just stay far away.

Huge inventory of fish and fish supplies. However, there are never any adults there that you can ask questions. Where are the owners? I've been there at least a dozen times and I always encounter high-school-age kids working the checkout and in the back with the fish tanks. They are friendly but have limited knowledge. It's just a part-time job to them. If you know what you need, then fine, but my knowledge is limited and I feel like I still know more than the 16 year old employee trying to help me.

One of the best stocked aquarium, reptile and pond supply store in the area, there’s something for everyone here. Good sales on staple supplies such as aquarium salt, seawater, and general stock aquariums. They often have a good coral selection at reasonable prices. Everything you need to start, or stock your hobby can be found at the Hidden Reef.

The hidden reef is an awesome place. I drive over 3 hours just to go there, and I'm never disappointed. Great pricing and amazing quality products and animals. It's my favorite fish store near Philadelphia, and I will definitely be back soon

A MUST "go to" store if your are buying a new setup. The store is huge and extremely well stocked with tanks, stands and equipment/dry goods. Puts the "big box" stores to shame !Prices are very competitive ! They had a 60 gallon Marineland setup for only $ 329.99 !! The same setup is sold for $ 649 at a big box store.Well respected Northfin and Xtreme fish food brands are available. You will not find them at the big box stores.

Place is disgusting! Had a correspondence with the manager at the time that i bought the fish that were apparently sick. No remediation was offered.Upon asking to speak with the same manager that i was corresponding with regarding all of the ILL fish they sold me. Instead i had this tall long-haired male employee, tell me, that he WAS the owner and that he will NOT allow me to speak with the person I had a correspondence with.

Bought a reptile here one of the cashiers was a nice lady (short girl with black hair with highlights) and helped me out a lot when picking out a set up and giving information on the gecko!! So well mannered and friendly. I’m a little upset at the fact some of these reptiles barely have water in the dishes or they are dirty with dead bugs in them!

I'm not sure how you've gotten so many good reviews but I wonder. Two weeks ago I purchased six new fish to add to my tank which held over 14 freshwater fish, some approx. three years old and extremely healthy. I've had a tank for over thirty years and know how to add new new ones. Within two days, all but two, had died. When I was shopping there I had noticed that many of the tanks didn't look nearly as clean as they once did. I emailed you and received a notice that you received my email and would respond, but you never did. I was upset but courteous in my wording. It's wasn't even the $40 that I spent for the new fish, it's the fact that no one took the time to address this issue that is upsetting, since I have been a customer for years. This is my second and last bad experience with your store. The other one involved a return for a defective piece of equipment that I was given a difficult time with. You might have been a good store at one time, but "it's what have you done for me lately" when it comes to being a good customer in your establishment. If you did this to me, you will do it again to someone else. I thought I would take the time to let everyone know before they go there, since you couldn't take the time for me. Like many these days, things just simply have gotten worse!!!
