We love this place! When you go in, you can't just buy one thing! They are famous for their Long John donuts, but they also have a big selection of other delicious desserts and treats. Definitely recommend checking this out if you're in the area - it's a cute little shop with reasonable prices and won't disappoint!

I have been going to Achenbach’s for years. Their cakes and donuts and sweet treats are delicious. However, I noticed for one of my kids first birthdays that the sheet cake I ordered was very light in weight. Then I realized they took an entire layer of cake off and charged me the same price. I quickly realized the round cakes still had the layer and started ordering those instead. Well today they have lost that layer as well. Pathetic that they don’t tell their customers this major change in what they are actually offering the customers. That’s disgusting. Times are hard for everyone and I’m sure as a Mennonite outfit that you are not hurting whatsoever Achenbach’s, but you are surely scamming people out of their money left and right!!!! Unless you feel like wasting money DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Who knows what they are putting in their food now. If they are lying about cake size what else are they lying about! Do not buy - cannot be trusted!!!

Childhood memories came rushing back. This is place is a local treasure. Their long Johns are one of a kind. I’m pretty sure there is some magic going on behind those walls. I recommend trying all the flavors. Peanut butter was amazing. I also recommend trying the apple raisin donut things. All are made to feel welcome in this establishment. The staff is very friendly. 10/10

Achenbach has been a staple in our house since I can remember. The vanilla Long John's will always be my favorite donut until the day I die. No matter what part of the world or what part of the United States I have traveled to, I NEVER had a better donut than the one from Achenbach Bakery.Don't forget about their cakes. Their pastries are the most phenomenal I have ever had, and I have never met who disagreed after they had one!Keep up the great work!!. You literally have the best donuts in the world!

The staff seemed like they were still a sleep but was not rude. I was disappointed they didn't have any of their filled long johns, that's what I went there for. I never had any not filled, but I got some because that's what they had. They were ok, but they seemed like they may have been sitting for a while they were a little stiff. I also got a Whoopi pie it was pretty good. I plan to go back. Hopefully, when I do, they will have the filled long johns! Of course, I didn't leave without getting a Johnny Long John stuffed plush he's so cute!

Lots of good and tasty different treats to choose from. You have cakes, cookies, pies, muffins, sticky buns, pastries and bread for your mouth to thank your taste bud. Yet all these treats and their best know for Achenbach's. You can make a stop here and yet you will find something for your taste bud to be pleased with. They have a small parking lot out front for you to park your vehicle and take your time making your choices of what to eat on the road and what to take home for dessert after dinner or maybe just a late night sweet treat.

Achenbach's made a beautiful cake to cut for my wedding reception. I gave a picture of what I wanted and I was not disappointed! It was a delicious cake. Also ordered of a variety of whoopie pies which were a huge hit. Highly recommend!

We visited after 3pm unfortunately much was already sold out. BUT, look at their GINORMOUS CHOCOLATE ECLAIRS! OMG, they're huge! (next time I'm getting one as I couldn't keep in car while running errands this day!)We did get pastries which were very reasonably priced!The black-raspberry cream cheese Danish is totally like a dream pastries in your mouth! Just the right balance of flavor which you have to taste to get the full experience of!OH, AND they have BEAUTIFUL cakes, so i got a cupcake to sample! THIS IS THE BEST WHITE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING I'VE HAD! The cake is moist & has flavor! But the chocolate ICING is PERFECT! It actually tastes like homemade (better than any homemade actually!) that's creamy yet chocolate that's not grainy or weak! OMG, I'm in heaven!This Bakery reminded me of when I was a kid, living in Southern CA, & we had a little neighborhood family-owned cute, Bakery that we loved. I've never seen anywhere like it until I walked into this one. Took me back in time!I'll be back to get my birthday cakes here and it's worth the drive!

My family and I adore this bakery! Everyone here is always so friendly and kind. We often purchase Long John's and cupcakes when we come. Recently however, I told my hubby that all I wanted for my Birthday was a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Well, he called the bakery, placed an order, and boy did they deliver! The cake was incredibly delectable, beautifully decorated, and not overly sweet! This was our first time getting a cake here but it definitely will NOT be the last! Thank you so much!

For years we have gotten long john cakes here. After a huge cake order and donuts, we will no longer be buying them here, We picked up our order, only to find out hours later it wasn’t all sent along. We had to leave a bday party to go back and get the remaining order . They said we should have known it wasn't all there? What about the staff working there?? And they will do nothing to fix it. We will be taking our orders to shady maple from here on out. Very poor customer service . And this was a joint decision by 2 owners. I would have thought life long customers were more important to them but apparently not. Very sad. All I asked for was a free dozen donuts to make me feel a little better about my time and gas wasted. It was over a $100 order. Wow

I will drive for long johns! Our office assistant is leaving to have a baby and her favorite treat is Achenbach's long john's! I live in the opposite direction and my boss told me to just get them elsewhere....uh..no way. Not the same! Picked up peanut butter and plain! Worth the drive and calories!

We went here first before going to Green dragon market. I just wished that we would have bought more of loaves of bread. It was so good, not to mention all of the other baked goods that we purchased. Well worth the money and the trip. Excellent service, plus very friendly.😁🤗🙋

What can I say about this company? I’ve tried their pastries thanks to a very good friend of mine and they were amazing! Not only that they have never met me before but when my mother found out she had cancer they helped us out with bracelets to support her, the kindness they showed me made me feel loved by my friend’s job. Regardless of what they put on their building their food is amazing and the owners care about people. As soon as I can I will be ordering pastries as I can’t wait to have them again and I will forever support this company.If you can’t accept someone supporting and loving others then you should move on, leaving negative reviews is just absolutely crazy just because you are still living in the early 1900s. It’s the 21st century.You guys are the best ❤️ Keep being positive!

Best long john’s I’ve ever had. I don’t eat a lot of sugar so I’m picky about the few times I splurge and I’m never disappointed here. They also make King Cakes around MardiGras that just melt in your mouth. I’m a lifetime Lancaster County resident and this place IMO makes the best pastries. 🏳️‍🌈
