First time going here today. Got soup sandwiches and desert. Soup was not great it was very watery and anti climactic ended up throwing it away. The sandwich was decent has fresh ingredients and bread was a good texture. The desert however is freaking incredible and I highly recommend it ! The worker was very nice and polite. Overall an interesting place nice atmosphere I’d never get the soup again but the other items I might still give a go.

Second time we've been here and it's still exceptional. The sandwiches are on this fantastically crunchy bread. It's really something. Normally when you have a very crusty bread, there's a bit of toughness to it. Not here. It's crunchy but tender. It doesn't have that heavy, jaw-tiring rigidity. Just a pleasant chew. The flourless chocolate cake is delicious, and the homemade crepes are as good as you can find in 3 counties.

So I've been interested in coming here for years, but the hours have always made it difficult. I finally got to try their food and overall I'm extremely impressed. The atmosphere is very quaint / cute, I love that you can do quick pickup from pre-made items (which I didn't know they had!) or buy french packaged sweets, and other items. The turkey panini I had was fantastic, the bread was the perfect mix of crunchy on the outside with a soft inside, the pears were an excellent accent flavor, honestly one of the best, if not the best panini I've ever had. The quiche (ham & swiss) was also excellent. If you're in the area while they're open you should definitely stop, its worth it.

Amazing taste of Europe right here in town. A unique and charming little eatery with gourmet desserts! They have fresh quiche and soups daily, and sandwich combos. I was in love with the dessert case and haven't seen anything like it since I was in England. The lady at the counter was so very nice and helpful. They have gluten free buns and even a few of their soups and desserts are gluten free! This was much appreciated as we had someone in our party with Celiac dietary needs. Thank you for being so accommodating. The food tastes delicious and is made fresh in house with quality you can taste. Little pricey but I think it's worth it.

This a great place for a delicious bite to eat, to sip some good coffee or to get one of their amazing pasteries. Walking in, I immediately took norice to the warm atmosphere and friendly staff at the counter. They have a great selection of sandwiches, salads, pasteries and a variety of ready to eat items in the coolers across from the counter. It was hard to choose but since this was more for a treat run, I decided to get the Dark Thunder Truffle, a Mocha Truffle, a Meringue, a cinnamon almond croissant, and a raspberry almond pastery. Everything is delicious and you really can't go wrong with anything they offer. I will be back!

My Bubba just turned 81 today and we ordered this cake ahead. We didn't know they did cakes but he made it the day of and it was so fresh. It's so impressive and this gem of Latrobe is so amazing. The staff each time is so accommodating and hands down so delicious! This was called The French Express and was the perfect amount of sweetness. Highly recommend, my Bubba loved this cake!

If a restaurant or bakery advertises one price and charges you a different one is that ok? I happen to not think so. This happened to me today at French Express in Latrobe and when I pointed it out to the worker they were very dismissive saying it’s ringing up right the prices written are wrong. I had assumed I would be charged what was written on all the price tags in the case- NO! I normally would chalk this up as just a bad morning but this is a place I was a frequent repeat customer. So I was irritated!!!I asked to speak to the manager and she said we don’t have any managers just an owner and she said he is busy right now. So I paid the bill and called the bakery alittle later and asked to speak to the owner. I told the owner what happened but he didn’t care either.I mean I don’t know if it’s a big deal to anyone else but it is to me. One item marked said $3 but when it rang up it rang up $3.10 and another was supposed to be $8.25 but it rang up as $10.50. This is not tax it’s just the items? I don’t think they should be allowed to do this but I apparently I am the only one who noticed or said something or thought it was disturbing. The owner really shocked me more than the faulty pricing - I got him on the phone finally. He was rude and yelling ( in very broken English) and kept saying what I was asking about is not true to just shut up about his prices!!!But I had just been there and literally everything I bought rang up a different price than it was tagged. And they charged me the higher price. I tried to explain this to him but he wouldn’t let me talk! He never apologized and I was really bothered by this experience I told him he should fix that and he hung up. I called him back thinking it was an accident- no accident he hung up again only this time I understand the broken language and verbiage and it was so awful! I called him back to address his language to a paying customer and he hung up again! 😡 Deplorable!!!Well this repeat customer is no longer one!!! I am truly sickened by how he runs his business. What could have been fixed and solved easily became a much bigger issue. In my opinion don’t go to French Express- in Latrobe unless you want to be charged whatever they feel like charging that day! I can assure you I definitely won’t be going back again! 😡

I happen to know cooking creations review is a total lie I happen to be there eating as the whole thing happened. I was in disbelief, she was enraged over 10 cents, I talked to the kind flustered employee at the counter and she explained to me that they were a couple new items that an employee happened to write incorrectly people are not robots they make mistakes sometimes. After talking to her, the owner of the restaurant came out front to answer the phone I could tell it was her as soon as i heard him trying to say ma’am if you would let me talk I could explain but he couldn’t get two words in to even say anything as she is claiming. I’m so sorry French Express some people have nothing better to do than complain and bash everywhere they go because they are bitter people, very sad.

The best lunch spot in Latrobe! Always delicious. The best homemade soups, salads, and sandwiches. And, don't forget to check out their dessert case. My favorites include the French Express Sandwich, the Mushroom Soup, and any of their quiches. A local gem, and worth the stop every time.Vegetarian options: Items on the menu that are vegetarian include: the Vegetarian Panini, Ratatouille Savory Crepe, as well as numerous soups and salads and specials of the day. Their dessert case also has vegetarian options.Parking: There are an abundant amount of spaces for parking available in the Latrobe 30 Plaza where French Express is located.

Latrobe has it's very own genuine French Chef! The fare is excellent. To the right of the cash register, there is a cold case filled with French Patisseries. Please, try not to drool on the glass case. For lunch, I ordered the mushroom soup and half pastrami sandwich on a REAL banquette. Generous portions. If you are on Route 30 passing by Latrobe, stop at The French Express. Whatever you choose will be superb.Features: You may, eat in or take out. There is an area with tables. Not large, but cozy enough.

An absolute gem of an eatery in Latrobe! We are so blessed to have Chef Christophe's remarkable talent. Everything he prepares is superb, the best I've ever had. From the sandwiches and soups, to the quiche, to the freshly-prepared crepes, to the insane amount of authentic french pastries, nothing comes close to French Express! I cannot recommend this place highly enough...exceeds all expectations. If you haven't been to Latrobe's best kept secret, give them a try! My favorite is the Fresh Berry Crepes. I will warn you though...they are extremely habit-forming!

Great food, generous portions, good deal for you money. I got the quiche combo meal that included a baby greens salad w diced red peppers and cherry tomatoes 🍅 and i choose the pepper parm dressing, one of two soups (I had the corn queso blanco) with a piece of baguette, and a large slice of one of the two quiche choices today (I had the ham and swiss. All for $12. They also have a large selection of desserts, pastries, gourmet chocolates. I will be back.Parking: Plenty of parking, the are right next door to Rite Aid. Handicap ♿️ parking right out front.Wheelchair accessibility: They have cafe tables that can easily accommodate a wheelchair ♿️.
