This lovely little store was able to accommodate my lactose intolerance for my coffee (Costa Rican coffee ROASTED IN THE STORE! Yum!) and my sister's gluten intolerance with some awesome looking sugar cookies. We got "granny's grilled cheese", an awesome cheddar and granny apples on raisin bread. We got a BLT on sourdough, that was fabulous. And a very good chef's salad with lots of meat and cheese. The brownie was also excellent. If you're in the area and need food, visit this store!

This place is a gem! I was given the grand tour & everyone was so nice & helpful. I cannot say enough! I got a sandwich (turkey, Brie, & fig) and it was super yummy. I would get it again, no question. They gave meals that can be heated up which I think I will get next time. They have locally sourced honey for sale, as well as, some things from local crafters - photography prints, artwork, and beautiful, hand crafted wood cutting boards. I also picked up a red velvet cupcake & lemon cupcake. They both were delicious. I highly recommend checking this place out.

I’m a local and I stop by about once a month. Always find/get the best stuff in here. With the new hours it’s more convenient for me.I recommend the turkey bri and fig sandwich. It’s my favorite. And any of their desserts but if it’s fall you have to get the pumpkin roll. I have been dreaming of it since Christmas 😅.

Great lil spot! They have lots of local honeys, sauces, coffee grinds, canned foods, etc… sandwiches are expensive for what you get but you’re supporting a local business.Really like the prepared meal ideas they started doing and hope they do more for 2024!!’

I had a meatball sub. The roll was stale and it was overall very dry with little to no sauce on the meatballs. I got the impression that the meatballs were prepared months ago and left uncovered on a dusty gun cabinet.

This store is a local treasure! I absolutely love the soups and the take-and-bake dinner entrees - they’re a lifesaver on weeknights and DELICIOUS!!

What a darling of a place? I stopped by with some friends while on bike ride in the area. The ladies working there were gracious and welcoming. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty. We relaxed and recovered in the beautiful setting outside the store before we resumed the ride. This place has everything going for it. A welcoming atmosphere, gracious service, an artsy ambience and awesome food.

I've been wanting to check this little store out for some time and finally did today when taking a Sunday drive with my best friend and my dog, Eden. The store offers made to order sandwiches, premade sandwiches, soup, pizza-including cauliflower pizza, and delicious looking baked goods, with gluten free options. We each got a sandwich. I got the road trip or road tripper and I was not disappointed. It is turkey and bacon with havarti cheese, lettuce and tomato on wheat toast. Hearty and delicious. The store also sells chips, drinks and coffee. Local artisans wares like pottery, honey, candles, earrings, and photographs are available for purchase as well. It is a charming store. The most impressive observation from my viewpoint is the customer service. There were two young men working and they were genuinely welcoming, helpful, patient and kind. You don't often receive such great customer service. We will definitely return soon.

Haven’t been here since 1998, so I’m reviewing from the past. Place had decent hoagies and candy. Would meet there then run off and do mischief with chix in the woods. Holla.

This place is wonderful. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the food is outstanding. It's like a step back in time to the neighborhood general stores. We got Reuben sandwiches today and they were perfect! I love Reubens and these were right up there with the bast. Purchased St Patrick's Day cupcakes and they may have been the best we have ever tasted. We have shopped here in the past and have never been disappointed. Please support your local stores. This one is a gem.

What a hidden gem. Popped in to get a sandwich for lunch and was so impressed - nice people and a great selection in the store. If you’re driving through town it’s 100% worth the stop.

Genuine wonderful people with a delicious selection to choose from. I’m relatively new to Landenberg and I couldn’t have been more pleased to have found somewhere like the Landenberg store, the people there are so friendly and welcoming and I can’t get enough of their baked goods and home made entrees! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow. Just wow. This store has become a staple for our family and our friends. Not only is their food incredible, but the employees are so friendly, loving, and willing to help you with anything. There are all sorts of food options, deli, cafe, snacks, basic needs, etc. Affordable and high quality. I recommend the carrot cupcakes-- just trust me. Nothing beats a day of hiking and something to munch on from this store. Lovely owners as well!!!

I've stopped a few times for a sandwich, as it is close to a home where I am a health care worker. DELICIOUS reubens, gracious service, friendliness, and just pure joy each time I visit! My highest recommendation!

I hadn't been in since it reopened. Much less cluttered. Business owner was friendly and personable. The biggest difference is the food. Fig, brie, and ham sandwich delicious. The Reubens, excellent as well. Also had a pumpkin spice cupcake which was fantastic too. Place was very clean. I will definitely mark this spot as a go to from now on.

Delicious food, friendly staff, sparkling clean. The location is off the beaten path. It was totally worth a 5 minute detour; the scenery was lovely. The flatbread pizza was fantastic. My husband loved his sandwich. Support local businesses that give our communities their spice.

Phenomenal service, adorable store and great food. It's the neighborhood store I've always dreamed of. I love that there is a little bit of everything and they kept the penny candies! Good to see local businesses being supported inside as well. We will be back!

What a hidden gem. We were out exploring today when we found this shop during our drive. In terms of supplies there is not much there but the food and atmosphere was the homerun. Lots of little art work were scattered around the store to keep you fixated if you let them. And plenty of articles to read about the little historical town. But as some of you know by now I am usually all about the food and the sandwich shop in there made the excursion worth it. Several in house specialities were so good I had to stop myself from going back for seconds. And for those who travel with picky eaters make your subs to order is a must and is provided. Staff was very friendly and patient with our big order, and while it took a little while for them to make everything the art and news articles about the town helped pass the time.

Very good take out food. Interesting recipies. My wife loves their Cesar Salad. Grilled cheese sandwiches were excellent as well as baked goods we purchased.

If I could suggest one thing for this store it’d be to start making the sandwiches when people order them instead of making them beforehand. Nothing is more off putting then ordering a sandwich and watching the worker grab one of the dozen already made and nuking it in the microwave. I went in and got a breakfast sandwich this morning at around 10 am and I’ve been sick to my stomach since and I’m starting to think about just how long that sandwich was sitting out before I ordered it... I’m sorry to give 2 stars but I think that’s being generous after the day I’ve had since eating that sandwich.

Wonderful friendly place. Would have given 5 stars if there was bicycle parking. Cyclists have nothing to lock to in spite of how much business we bring.

Homey atmosphere. Food looks delicious and affordable. Went in for their famous homemade bread. Unfortunately they have it only on Friday so I prepaid for a baguette. Wanted to make certain I got one. Looking forward to eating it on Friday!

I visited for the first time, but I'll be back! They were sampling the sticky toffee pudding, which was fantastic. I stopped on a whim as I was passing by, but I decided to just drop in and check it out. I already had my dinner in the car from another stop; but after sampling that sticky toffee pudding, I had to pick up a piece of that for my dessert. Yum! I'm pretty sure I'll be back in less than a week because those crab cakes seem to be calling my name.

My boyfriend and I stopped in after going to White Clay State Park and we were just doing a nice scenic drive of the area and decided to stop. The store seems quaint and pricey. The lady at the counter seemed nice and down to earth. My boyfriend was kind of in the mood so since I did not know the area, I asked the lady where she thought would be a good spot to have s3x. I then suggested behind the store or in the bathroom. Her mood changed quickly from being very friendly to very disgusted. She said, "Oh no place here. You are going to have to find another place for something like that". Ok? I asked if we could use their restroom and she said that was fine but not both at the same time. She was completely on to us. In the end, we each grabbed a breakfast sandwich, which apparently was pre-made and they had to heat up, and a drink. They had no seating inside or outside so we ate in the car then parked up the street where the church is and had s3x there in the car in the parking lot before heading out towards Lancaster to see more things and do some shopping. This place was built in like the early 1900's or something. The lady acts like no one makes love in Landenberg. Nope! Not here. Apparently according to her, Landenberg is a "no intercourse zone" or something. It is a cute store I guess if you are local and want to support your local business and don't care they have no seating. However if you are day tripping as a couple and know at some point in your trip you might get it on, Landenberg is not the place. Especially the Landenberg Store. The church parking lot is kinda risky too. Better off finding another place outside town that is more private where doing that sort of thing is accepted.

Awesome little shop and fun history, great drinks and sweets. Haven't tried the sandwiches yet but they looked amazing. Looking forward to going back for sandwiches and cheese!

Stopped in to try their take home dinner options (there are no seating options to eat in the location.) I found the prices to be higher than they should be for the items offered. About $3 high across the board, including the sandwiches. $9.50 for a 9" cheesesteak??, a subshop 2 miles away charges $9.50 for a 12" and its incredibly good. A chicken parm meal with 2 sides was $13. That's what it should cost at a restaurant. 3 entrees ended up costing us $44. The high prices, combined with the facts that the food is packaged cold, so you have to reheat when you get home and the remoteness of the location means my visit to the Landenberg store is a one and done. The food however was pretty good. Just not worth the price and hassle. There are better options in the area.

I grew up in Landenberg. The Landenberg Store was one of my favorite places as a child. I worked there while I was in high school until I graduated and moved away. We were back in town visiting family this weekend and we stopped by with our two children. I was SO disappointed. It’s nothing like it used to be. There’s hardly anything in the shelves?! What use to be an awesome sub shop/deli that sold penny candy and served as a meeting place for local fishermen to get their coffee, is now a “premium” sandwich shop full of nothing. It was a total letdown and it saddens me to say that we won’t be back.

We have been visiting the Landenberg store since it opened again. The food is amazing for nights you don’t want to cook but still have a great home cooked meal. I haven’t had one bad thing love everything they prepare so happy this little jem is down the road from us!
