A cute spot located right on Main st in kutztown. Unfortunately I couldn’t give 5 stars, but I wanted to!Pros:Menu- awesome! Something for everyone!Hours- open on Sundays when lots of other places are notOrdering- online ordering was a breeze. We even had an unavailable donut, but we received a quick call and we were able to select something elseNow for the cons:Prices- The price per donut was very high. For example, at either farmers market we buy from, a dozen can range from $17-25…. These were over $30Quality- I believe since it was a Sunday, perhaps the baking gets done earlier in the week. The donuts had a great flavor, but many of them were dry, or just shy of stale.We did not like the cake donuts at all, the yeast ones were better. The bacon on the maple bacon had a strong smoked bacon flavor… not a usual salty bacon flavor, which we personally prefer.I have 4 kids and 3 are teenagers. We get donuts every other weekend… and there are never any left. We threw out 2.5 donuts on Monday.I love a good small business, and from what I can gather, this one is fairly new. We will try them again sometime! Maybe eat in and try other breakfast foods, or take out cakes/pies!Also, if I could do it over, I would have gone in to pick out donuts myself, instead of ordering online! Asking staff which they would recommend, probably would have helped!Like I said, we look forward to trying them again!

This was my first time going and the lady at the register was so kind. She was helpful with deciding what I would like best. The cake tasted great! The only suggestion I would have is to open later and close later. It was not as near as busy as it should be and I think this has to do with the hours, especially in a college town. But aside from that it was a great little dessert spot!

Best Customer Service hands down!! I couldn’t be with my daughter on her birthday, but I really wanted her to have a cake. I called the bakery and the woman suggested a personal cake being that it was last minute and it ended up being perfect! She even took the time to write a message on the box to my daughter from me which she did on her own. My daughter picked the cake up and they wished her a Happy Birthday also. My daughter said the cake is so delicious! Next time I am in the area I am definitely stopping and trying the Lemon Lavender Cake and some other goodies! Thank you!

Amazing food & excellent customer service. I literally cannot say enough good things about this place! We had a last minute work function that we needed catered and The Cottage Bakery pulled through with the most delicious breakfast sandwiches and pastries! They were extremely attentive, and, they even delivered! I highly recommend The Cottage Bakery and Cafe!

This a cozy, charming cafe and bakery, and everything I've tried so far is delicious! The cookies are big and the right mix of crispy and chewy. The muffins are perfectly baked. I'm in love with the chicken salad wraps, and just got to try the new Monte Cristo sandwich last week. So, good! Definitely ask for extra napkins! I hope they'll be here in Kutztown for many years to come!

Thank you so much for making last minute birthday cakes for hubby and daughter. Look at this beautiful Black Forest cake. While picking up cakes I could not resist picking up Rocky Road and Key Lime cupcakes. Love this new addition to Kutztown.

We visited for the first time The Cottage Bakery & Cafe in Kutztown. To Die for! A cute tiny relaxing country style place, with all home cooking and baking. I had a brisket, cheese and egg on a brioche. My wife had a egg, cheese and bacon on a croissant. For dessert, I had a Key Lime donut. Delicious! We took home a piece of their tiramisu, which the owner offered we taste before buying with no obligation. She was very nice and accommodating, and so was her staff.The Cottage Bakery & Cafe. Highly recommended. A+++++UPDATE Jan 24, 2024Dear Dawn, thank you again for the complementary Lemon Donut. You've asked that we give you our feed back on it. You are right, and we see why it's your favorite donut. It is absolutely delicious, the best lemon donut we ever had! As you've mentioned, it is very rich in its lemony flavor due to lots of good lemon juices plus the many other lemon things you put in. My wife loved it, but for me, I love your Key Lime donut more. The Key Lime Donut is not as strong in flavor and sweetness as your Lemon Donut. But if I were stranded on a desert island, and I only had your Lemon Dunuts to eat, I'd eat a ton of them, no problem. Lol! Thank you again for the Lemon Donut. We will be back for more great food and great baked goods for sure.

So excited to have a bakery in Kutzown. And the best news is, it's good! Got a wrap there and several of my friends got other sandwich options. They all were delicious and they are generous in their portions. I always judge a bakery off of their pecan pie and it passed with flying colors. It was delicious and their banana cream pie was equally good. Check it out and support a local business!

We went this morning for their grand opening. The inside of the bakery is adorable and everyone is super friendly! We bought 3 personal cakes, a personal cheesecake, and breakfast wraps. The cakes are beautiful and definitely a good size for the price. The breakfast wraps were yummy and filling; I would definitely highly recommend the brisket, egg, and cheese wrap. Overall I’m super excited about having a new bakery in town 🙂

We were there for their grand opening and it was a great experience from start to finish. There was so much neat decor to look at. The menu was artistically done, yet easy to read. There were so many options to choose from. They had lunch fare and treats and baked goods. We loved the personal sizes of the mini cakes, mini pies etc. It is perfect to share. The prices were so reasonable. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was divine. We sampled a variety of baked goods and our girls gave them a literal two thumbs up as they happily licked icing from their smiling faces. We will definitely be there often.

When my 2 fledgling shieldmaidens finish their chores and make appropriate offerings to Freja, I like to treat them to something sweet. The noughts of dough and "cupped cakes" of chocolate are particular favorites of my gels, and you would be wise not to come between them and their treats, lest you lose a hand!Parking: Friday morning's street cleaning begins at 6 AM, and the local cops will literally step over a dying man in order to give you a ticket.

go!The Cottage Bakery & Cafe truly is a gem in the local area. From a diverse array of treats ranging from cheesecake and muffins to sandwiches and cookies, every item I ordered was a delightful surprise. The breakfast sandwich was particularly outstanding; with bread that has the undeniable touch of being house-made and meats and cheeses that explode with flavor. Although they could be a tad more generous with the eggs, it's a minor oversight for what was an overall exceptional dish. While I had the slight misfortune of getting to the bakery later in the day, causing some of the baked goods to have sat for a bit, they were still out of this world in taste and texture. I can only imagine how divine they would be fresh out of the oven. If you've been contemplating a visit, consider this your sign: Don't think, just go and treat your taste buds!

Chocolate Chip Cookie- really big and reasonably priced. Crispy and deliciousChocolate cupcake w/peanut butter icing- very creamy icing, tasted like actual peanut butter, and an add bonus you could tell it was homemadeFruit tarts- the shell is so light and good. Pastry cream isn’t to sweet and has fresh fruits.

We attended the opening today. There was quite the line, but the staff were handling it amazingly. The baked goods were awesome. The brisket breakfast sandwich hit the spot. We are so excited to finally have a bakery in Kutztown.

I am so excited about this spot opening up! The owner is so sweet and the baked goods are amazing! Also, the prices are very affordable for how good the product is. I went on opening day so they didn’t have everything made yet, but I will definitely going back to try more!

It’s ok for takeout but it’s not comfortable for eating in as they leave the front door open so that a chilly wind blows right through. The response if you tell them it’s cold is that the temperature is just perfect in the kitchen.
