As I read through these reviews, it seems like this store has had problems with expired products for quite some time. How have they not come up with a plan of action to correct this issue is beyond me. I was just there today and I picked up to go cups of cream cheese fruit dip from the produce section. Trusting a normal grocery store who should be doing their dudiligance to have proper products on the shelf, I wouldn't think I would have to check dates. I get home, put the groceries away and sit down and start to eat this with my fruit and it just tasted off, really bad, so I check the date and low and behold the best by date was JAN 13th 24! The amount you pay for these products at this store you would think they could make sure the products are fresh... I will not be returning.

The store is always clean. The people that work in the deli are so kind and helpful. All the staff are very helpful. Also want to thank the young man that makes the fresh sushi in the morning.

Not a good place to work. They don’t give lunch breaks. Old manager lied to me about giving me full time and a raise, I got neither, just more responsibilities. Good coworkers though!

This store is clean and well maintained. Selections are good. Prices aren't always the best, except for Giant brand which is competitive with other stores. Staff has always been helpful and friendly. Overall I highly recommend this store.

This giant should have vegetable sushi. Overall it has a good selection but I feel that they do not consider their vegetarian customers. However other than this I was happy prices are reasonable the store seems nice

Worst giant in the whole berks county area, the Giant Direct is horrible. They do not care for the customers and their employees there. Destiny, the head of direct, is very disrespectful and not helpful at all. I have had many bad experiences there and will never be returning to this Giant again.

Store is always clean. It is my opinion that Giant sells a better selection of Fresh Fruits and vegetables than it's competitors. Giant always has the product (s), that I stopped to get. No substitutions. Shelves are always fully stocked. Customer service, no matter if it is the start of the day or end of the day, the customer service at this store is superb as I always see these young faces smiling and wanting to be of assistance. Prices are very competitive as well with Giant winning on some products and other stores selling the same price for a little less than Giant Food Stores. If you are in Kutztown visiting, over at the University, just a half mile away, you should definitely drop in at this store and grab up some fresh fruit.

The Kutztown Giant is close to my house & never crowded. They pretty much always have what I need. I've been doing more in store shopping lately. I'm happy to see they've added delivery to my address.

Just stopped to get help at customer service and the lady wouldn't help me because she said they closed at 6:00. I said it 5:30 and she rudely said well, we're closing at 6:00 and continued to text on her cell phone.

Nice big grocery. Prices are really not bad compared to others. Gas points on purchases is what puts it over the top for me. Can really save a lot on gas. Checkout lines are of course the downside. Never enough open lanes and slow moving.

Wonderful shopping experience. The employees at the deli were extremely helpful and patient as I was trying to decide what to order. They also offered samples to my daughter of the the items I bought.

I have usually had great luck buying from this store until Friday. I bought a pork roast intended for dinner on Saturday night. When the package was opened, the smell coming off that pork roast would have gagged maggots. My wife and I were definitely gagging. Food is expensive enough. We don't need to buy stuff that is rancid. I threw it in the trash. I wasn't even going to let the cats eat it. 🤢

Weird robot thing is creepy. Nice to offer discounts to the kids, what about the locals, the people who support you all year and are often elderly? Internet is often down to run specialized cards for the disabled or needy making my job as a caretaker a real pain. So we take care of the kids while screwing over the elderly veterans and the disabled. Okay....And if you call, the bubbly headed kids working seem to be completely clueless. And managers.Suggestion, if your machinery is down again today, like it was yesterday, and three times last week, maybe you should put a note on the door, not the register, in BLACK INK. Not light light grey and pink. People actually have other things to do with their time other than to shop for total inability to check out, over and over and over and over.. I don't do that, I'm smart enough to check at customer service via phone, preferably, if someone actually answers, so I don't have to waste my gas and time driving there, but you know... Somebody has to answer the phone....so I don't waste my time, but I've watched people walk away from shopping carts in sheer frustration at the checkout line, leaving everything right there...

A clean well-run store that feels more local than a corporate giant (pun intended). Some of the staff is typical of what you find in a college town. But, the Giant Direct staff is awesome!

I am a big believer in praising those who deserve it. I manage a local small business and came in today to purchase drinks for our shop. I had a buggy full of big bulky drinks and the self check out was really hating me! Jayden was a life saver! He came over and patiently helped everytime the self check out froze due to so many [skip bagging] options I needed. I shop here weekly and have lived here for 3yrs. Today was they day that your employee Jayden was so impressive it called for a review. Thank you Jayden! Customer service is a difficult job but your going above and beyond. Best of luck!

Very grateful for the student discount even though they decreased it from 10 to 5%, regardless thankful for any discount at all! Clean store with a nice selection of groceries! Always go here to grocery shop :)

Crystal at customer service!! Phenomenal!!! My client I’m assisting came in to go grocery shopping last night to go shopping and her food stamps card wouldn’t go through. They put her shopping order in a fridge in the back to store it for her. She went home tried to call and get everything situated. I assisted her to the store today and we went right to customer service and spoke to a man, she wanted to check her balance to make sure it would work. And it didn’t. Her card kept saying incorrect pin. Crystal, took it upon herself to call the number on the card and after several attempts got through to someone and was given instructions and got everything done correctly and reset her pin. She didn’t stop trying until she got it done! I’ve never experienced such wonderful customer service!! Shout out to Crystal!!!! You helped make this woman’s week if not month!!!!

My experiences with giant direct always go well. Easy to order, most time slots are open for for day if you order early in the morning or the night before. I always have the nicest workers who bring out the groceries. They care about placement of the item, they bag them and put them I the car very gentle and organized! I will Definitely keep using Giant and Giant direct!Quiet and clean inside the store. Friendly casheirs

Bought expired snack cakes, Entenmann's and Hostess. Bathrooms in back looked like they weren't done that day, or before (cleaning guy went in when we finished though).Checking out takes a literal half an hour: the track travesty. Why is the line for self checkouts so long? Because they're system is so bugged, it could open an entomology farm.The bagging area has a scale. Walmart implements it fine (while not perfect). Giant... Doesn't have some items registered, so worker needs to get it. Remove a bag? "Please put item back in bagging area", even though we're spending $100+. Not everything fits in 4 bags!For every problem (1/5 rings) you have to wait for help from a guy who has 5 other registers. They need to at least have TWO workers: the line was 6+ people long!Edit: tried previously emailing Giant. No response a week later.

I love this place so much. Like to the point my friends make fun of me about it. Every time I used to come back to my apartment, my old neighbors would ask me if I was coming back from Giant again. And most of the time they were right. Is this normal? Is it okay to enjoy going to the grocery store so much? I mean food is the way to my heart so it make sense I guess. Also by grocery store standards the dudes bathroom is incredible. It’s come in clutch for me so many times. Never had any issues with customer service, and the store is arraigned logically. The only things I struggle to find is vinegar (I can never remember if it’s classified as a condiment or a baking need) and for whatever reason food coloring is impossible for me to find.

I was told to avoid getting in a rude workers line named Jaden but every other one was packed with people and I’m not one for using self checkout, but darn it I don’t see how this smart mouthed and hateful millennial has a job working with people. Jaden made faces and sighed multiple times especially when I had multiple bottles of coke a cola which weren’t just for me, they were for my entire household yet she decided to comment “someone really loves their coke”. Kids now a days have no respect. She should not be workin at giant ruinin peoples days with her snarky comments

Weis offers better gas points.*EDIT*How many/much food/products do y'all just throw away?You (not you reading this, I mean "The System" man)...how much do y'all throw away? Shelves all stocked, flush full with every version of everything...even with the so called "supply chain issues", so much is ready to be sold.And a lot of it goes past the expiration date.Do y'all even empty the stuff into the ground?Do you bother to separate the food from the plastic?Or does it all go into a landfill?

Exceptional except for the fact that two checkout registers decided to stop working and I needed to go to a third one to finish. None of them were self-checkout ones by the way !
