They have been our vet since day one for our now 15 year old female lab and we couldn't be in better hands, they got her in for an emergency and they performed the surgery, and literally saved her life and nursed her back to perfect health in record time the entire staff are amazing people who truly care about the animals ❤️❤❤ we don't have kiddos until so our pups are our lives and we will do anything for them and the staff treat the animals as if it was one of their own and thats hard to find ❤️ ❤❤

I don't know that I've ever had anyone at this location treat my pet(s) poorly or even talk about them in a "lesser than" manner. They may be a little pricey, but I've been to "bargain" vets before (not in the same area as this vet). I believe, to some degree, you get what you pay for.

I had an emergency with my cat and onto of other emergencies, they managed to squeeze me in. They genuinely care. The vet gave me all of my options and was so gentle with me in my situation. They have one of the toughest jobs on the planet. Telling people their animals are sick but it was done with such grace and concern. Thank you so much for what you did for me!

Had all 3 of my cats there for checkups. Both Dr. Myer and Dr. Shirey we’re very helpful and cared a lot about our animals. Unfortunately one of my kittens ended up passing away, the staff there is very friendly and helpful with the loss of our kitten and the aftercare. I will continue to use this vet as long as they are in business.

Our pooch was sick but we didn't realize just how sick until the wonderful staff here ran tests & checked him out from tip to tail. We found out he was very ill & wasn't going to be with us long. All of the wonderful women we encountered here that day made the news we got a little easier to take. I will happily take any of our other 5 pooches here for treatment. Thank you ladies for your care & concern... Also for bandaging up my sister's boo-boo while we were there too. ❤️

If I was able to give a big fat ZERO !!!! I would cause 1 is even to good for the vet Jessie!!!! My sweet little dog is 15 yrs old and is having teeth problems I had her on a a antibodiic several months ago an I used one refill an one was remaining...I called at 815 am to get it refilled an Secretary says oh sure I don't see a problem with it at all an doctor..but doctor isn't in yet ill call you back either way so you know!!! I waited all day by my phone for call to hurry over an start my little dog on medicine to ease her pain ...no call still at 4 pm so I called to see what was going on an why I wasn't called back well Secretary never even put into notes I needed to refill the medication...an never returned my call !!! So un caring people there..I said I'll take her somewhere else !!! She just OKAY!!!!! It's all about money there!!!!! Not about animals an their pain !! Cus they wanted me to pay 400 dollars to just refill a prescription!!! I'm glad I didn't go back anyway that Jessie man was so uncaring with my dog the first time!!!! Wanted 980 dollars to pull her teeth !!! Well sorry doc I don't make your money!!!! All about money there!!!!!!

In his 11 years, my dog has paid many visits to the Elk County Veterinary Clinic, some scheduled and some emergency visits. Everyone is always so kind and gentle with him especially when he is nervous. Dr. Meyer and Dr. Shirey and all of the techs are always so great with him. Being a small town they know him by name when be comes in and remember his little quirks.They have always found time to squeeze him in for an emergency visit no matter how busy they are and I appreciate the peace of mind that I have knowing that when he needs help there is a team of people that will care for him the way they do here. Thank you all for everything that you do!

Let me start off by saying that planning an appointment is hard. I work day shift and had to take a half day for our cat's appointment for vaccines. However it was my fault that i scheduled for later in the day and now I had to bring my rambunctious children along to our cat's appointment. I was a little stressed as now I had to drag a scared kitty and my three crazy children along. The receptionist, I think her name was Amber or Amanda, was very friendly and so was her helper, Rooster. My kids immediately acted like how I asked them not to and wanted to pet the dog. The lady behind the counter asked if it was okay and I said it was. She apologized that they were running a bit behind and brought the dog over. This guy is a BIG boy and towered over my youngest child but he was well behaved as they went over the moon petting him. Amber/Amanda guided us into the cat waiting room until they were ready for us. While we waited, my children were fascinated by the turtles in the waiting area. Heath was our tech and he helped make my experience less stressful as well. He was great with our cat and answered every question my children had for him. Dr Shirey was amazing as well. For running behind, I felt my visit was not rushed and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I will definitely be coming back for all our pets.

We had our first visit to this clinic with Dr. Shirey and an absolutely wonderful male vet tech who's name I can not recall at the moment.Our Veterinary Behaviorist had recommended a male vet if available since our rescue has a huge distrust of women. When I called the clinic to make an inquiry and explain our situation I was greeted very pleasantly, listened to, and they asked a few questions showing they were also concerned with our pets comfort and everyone's safety.The visit itself could not have been a better experience both for my husband and I and our dog. All of the staff were so great at following our request to ignore our pup(she's super cute so that's no easy task) and give her space. Both the vet tech and Dr Shirey were also great with her and answered all of our questions and I never once felt that we were being rushed for them to bring in the next patient. They even had a skilled tech on hand to do the back leg blood draw for us. We have never left a vet visit with this particular dog that was so low stress and cooperative.I have personally owned dogs for well over a decade a lived in different places throughout PA and I will say that I feel the prices charged by the clinic were very fair and reasonable.

I called this vet wanting a small fish hook taken out of my cat's mouth. They wanted me to bring my cat in and keep her there over night when I told them I couldn't bring her in until after 3pm. This would have cost me an additional $50 on top of what they had already planned on charging me which was somewhere between $200 and $300. I found another vet who was happy to do it and his price was nothing more than a good review on his page, so I was happy to do it. It literally took him seconds to do what these people wanted to charge a small fortune for. I have done business with this vet in the past and I have never left there without paying a small fortune. I am now changing vets. It was quite a drive to get to him but it was definitely worth it!

I have used Elk County Vet for the past 15 years. The staff is always nice and friendly. The facility is always clean and up to date. I have had to use after hours medical service and was highly pleased with the service and care. I am amazed at the time that the vets give you to inform you on medical treatment. I always have questions and they are always well answered. I have never felt rushed out the door. Thank you for providing great service close to home! A small town vet office with big city amenities.

Wonderful staff, who actually CARE about animals and will get you the lowest price. Everyone is so friendly and always looking to help you out any way they can. Our cat is a rescue that was abused and very skittish around everyone, but they made her feel so comfortable that she was purring up a storm! Best vet I've been to in ages, hands down

Excellent clinic and staff. Dr DeSantis an did an wonderful job treating our kittens infection and answered all of our questions. We usually see Dr Meyer who is incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable, and was very attentive to the specific needs of our previous geriatric kitty. We were touched by the personal sympathy card she sent after our cat passed away. Clinic is clean, friendly staff and techs, minimal wait times, and Dr Meyer always returned my phone calls promptly.

Jesse Shirey needs to learn that you never, ever talk to customers in the manner that he did. I was attempting to answer questions and give information faster because he is obviously losing his voice. He told me “If you don’t stop interrupting me, I can’t do this”. Excuse me? I have been running my own business for nearly 17 years dealing with the public. I would NEVER speak to a customer in this manner, even if I was losing my voice. Even if a million other reasons were provoking me. When I confronted him for speaking to me this way, he walked out of the room and refused to treat my dog. Hense, this review since he made no move to finish resolving our issue in person.A word of advice: Stay home when you’re too sick to do your job. Better yet, take a vacation and reevaluate if you’re even able to deal with customers in this setting. You might love animals but you obviously hate people. Unbelievable. You’re not above others just because you know more about animals. I’m fully able to understand and discuss the possibilities surrounding the dog issues. The change in his diet was relevant to what we were speaking about. Don’t dismiss me and tell me to stop interrupting. I was attempting to give information to be helpful. I could never imagine speaking to my customers in this way. Shocking.On another note, the male vet tech is a rare gem, a wonderful person. Such personality and genuine love of animals. He was the reason we continued to go there until now.One other thing, the prices are high.One last thing. I never mentioned this last year when it happened, but they also accidentally gave my dog an extra dose of a vaccine that he already had gotton.

My experiences with this clinic to date have all been very positive. The staff have all been very kind and knowledgeable in their positions. I have 2 cats that I take to them for care. One being a healthy female senior cat and the other a 8 1/2 year old male with urinary problems. Thanks to the staff, my kitties are as healthy as they can be and on a proper diet aiding in my males health. Thank You for all you do :-)

I can't say enough nice things about Elk County Veterinary Clinic! The vets and staff are wonderful - always pleasant and friendly, and they take the time to explain what is going on with your pet. I have been bringing my dogs and cats here for seven years, and I have never had a bad experience. You can ask as many questions as you need to, and they answer all of them patiently and thoroughly. They provide excellent care, from routine check-ups to surgeries. If you pet is ill, they will find out what is wrong and explain your options for treatment, so that you can make an informed decision. I can't imagine taking my pets anywhere else!

This vet saw our pupper after getting a dog bite on paw with no appointment. Waited approximately a half hour to be seen, which was expected as we were walk-ins with no prior history there, and were seen by the vet who was very knowledgeable and reassured us we made the right decision to have our dog seen there rather than waiting. Nice layout of office. Has separate sides for dogs and cats, so they don’t get out of hand.

I have been taking our furbabies here for almost 5 years now. Dr. John was the 1st veterinarian I saw and he was wonderful with our Lyla. Then Dr. Myers I hope I spelled it correctly was the 2nd veterinarian I saw for an emergency 1 1/2 years later with our Lyla. Well i can not Thank her enough for trying everything possible for our baby girl. She was diagnosed by Dr. John with congestive heart failure, mammary gland cancer and I will say that she held on for 2 1/2 years with meds and visits but this time her heart was so enlarged pushing on her trachea, she was struggling to breathe. Nothing could be done unless we had an oxygen tent at home for her like they had, we made that heart breaking decision and Dr. Myers was fantastic, so consoling. Lyla was 17. Then our Bella got weak and just not herself, called and got her right in. Dr. John stated her organs were shutting down so we made the decision to bring her home and well that night she passed in my moms arms. She was 20 and I believe missed her sissy. They are here with us in their Urns of course 🐶🐾 Today I had the pleasure of meeting Keith the vet tech and Dr. Shirley, they too were Great. I had to take my Paco for shots and my cat Taz had shots & bloodwork. I cannot say enough about how Great everyone there was. From Amber when I called, Bella the next call, the Vet Techs and of course The Veterinarians. You all really care about our animals and I feel went above and beyond when I lost my last two. I will never ever forget that. Thank you for being so caring and compassionate as thats what its all about, as our furbabies are family❤️ I will continue to recommended Elk County Veterinary Clinic🐾🐶🐈❤️ Thank you all😊❤️Linda Carpin

The only reason I gave them a 3 is because it was clean and bright. The clinical staff was pleasant but I found them incompetent.There were 2 files on my cat and the Vet was insisting there were 2 of the exact same cat at very small town ASPCA, with the same name no less. Then she couldn't determine several other things that a Vet should be able to solve.I'm off another Vet with still no word on what is going on there. I won't go again

There clinic is extremely clean. The entire staff is very caring of your concerns and they answer all your questions clearly. We took our cat Prince there to be neutered and we were able to pick him up the same day. Not only that but when we had a concern the next day they were able to get us in right away. They gave us an Elizabethan collar at no charge.I refuse to take my cats anywhere else. Every other vet I have been to never showed this much care towards my pet. I recommend this veterinary clinic to everyone of my friends and family.
