Passed this place many time and finally decided to give it a go. The sweet potato fries were amazing! They had an amazing crunch to them combined with the corn salsa and other toppings made it an amazing appetizer that I would come back for. I had the Mango Thai Curry which was so flavorful yet had a little kick to it but not overbearing. Definitely going to have to come back and try more of their variety of dishes on the menu some time!Major kudos to the waiter also. She brought a water dish out for my fiancée guide dog to have something to drink while we ate.

Update: stopped in for dinner and got a chance to try the new year’s menu, down right perfect. The courses were delivered promptly, in well timed succession. The flavors built and built, to the point where the steak stole the show. I like rare and this didn’t disappoint, melt in your mouth delicious. Susan came and said hi, she’s very cool and obviously good at the business. I’m excited that she’s planning an “At the Farm” offering as a dining experience that truly brings you to the farm table. So happy!I was bummed the dairy bar closed in Berlin, but this more than makes up for it. The food options are awesome and delicious. The desserts are delicious as well. I recommend the Greek nachos with impossible meat, the pork belly is really well made, and the farro bowl is on point. The apple crisp is one of the best we’ve had in a long time. The smoked beets were special as well!

Lovely little surprise of a place. The decor is very home grown and understated, but there are cute squirrel salt and pepper shakers and ornithological placemats, and the food really speaks for itself. Such great curries and fish dishes that are hard to get around here. And the root beer floats are amazing. Wonderful homemade ice cream.

The food is unique and the most delicious things I never would have thought of. The staff is vibrant. The dishes, wall art, glassware, and even the salt and pepper shakers are super eclectic. My boyfriend got the cheesesteak Mac’n’cheese. It was amazing. The soup 🍜 of the day was fabulous. I don’t remember what it was called, but it was everything. The Loaded Sweet potato fries are also highly recommended. I got a coffee and grasshopper shake. Read the shake menu I added. Then look at the pic. They all come out like that, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in a sundae cup

What an amazing place in a completely unexpected locale! My wife and I are plant-based, and we were both gobsmacked with the menu ~ so much like you would find somewhere on the West Coast. So many choices..it was difficult to decide. Very inspired food served in a quirky, fun environment.If we lived closer, we'd be dining here on a regular basis. It is definitely worth going out of your way to experience the Fat Squirrel!Vegetarian options: Tofu can be subbed for the protein on anything...

Wow!!! Was told by a friend that we had to check out The Fat Squirrel Restaurant... Her recommendation was spot on!!Our entire dinner was amazing - from the glazed pork belly appetizer, to our entrees (spicy & smokey beef lo mein and the NYE special, shrimp, scallops & cheesy grits), to a decadent milkshake - Good Morning Beautiful (coffee milkshake rimmed glass with cinnamon toast crunch cereal, topped with a maple glazed donut & Pop Tart).Again... WOW!! We will DEFINITELY be back!! Check. Them. Out. 🐿️😋💕

Food and service is always excellent. Alex is always friendly and upbeat. We have never been less than impressed with anything we have gotten from here. An impressive variety of things on the menu. The milkshakes are great. It is worth the 40+ minute drive to come out here. This is quite the gem that I am very happy we found. The food and service keep bringing us back.

Absolutely amazing! The waiter had a fantastic personality and was exceptionaly attentive. The food was beyond belief!! We stumbled upon this traveling for work.prices were amazing for the food. Don't let the curb appeal fool you. This place has phenomenal food! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The chef even makes time to come out and ask if your meal was to your liking.. Top quality service and food. I would highly recommend!

I had the opportunity to enjoy their Blueberry, brie, basil grilled cheese Sandwich at the Sunday Market in Cambria City and to say it was amazing is an understatement! The favors melded together so well! I would definitely recommend it if you ever see it! Sue was very personable & I can't wait to visit their actual restaurant.

We went for the desserts. This place recently changed hands and is busier now than it was before. They have a nice selection of sandwiches and entrees. I liked the root beer float but you used to get it with Stewart's root beer. Now you need to ask for that specially.

I never see onion soup on the menu and not order it so when I say they have some of the best onion soup I've ever had, it really is saying something. The steak medallions were perfectly cooked and everything was delicious. Can't wait to come again

Absolutely amazing service and incredible food here!! We chose this restaurant because of how many vegan options they have in a part of PA that seems to be a vegan food desert. The server, staff, and chefs were incredibly accommodating with my pickiness and made me the best tacos I’ve ever had! The decor inside is so great, too, especially the different salt and pepper shakers on every table! This place is an absolute GEM and anyone around the Johnstown area needs to come for a meal!Dietary restrictions: So many options for vegans (& vegetarians)!

A serendipitous stop on our way home from a weekend trip. The food was awesome; and there were many other menu items I saw that I would’ve liked to try. Super friendly servers. We had the miso ramen-ish w/ pork, the okonomiyaki, and the mushroom toast. Loved the black velvet chai cake if you’re looking for a nice dessert with balanced flavors (I liked that it’s not excessively sweet).

Hidden gem alert!! Awesome menu, stellar service, delicious food. This place reminded us of something we would have found while living in SA TX, not nestled up in the mountains in rural PA- but we're so glad it's here. Will definitely be back to try everything on the menu and you should check it out too!!
