Been here several times. The location is beautiful - 5/5. Food is above average, but not quite the quality that it seems the staff believes it to be. And every single trip, without fail, has offered the worst service I've ever experienced. Plan for 3 hours or more per meal for 2, for your beverage glasses to sit empty, and to wonder if you should just leave while waiting 30+ minutes for your check. Very beautiful property though.

We had our wedding at Green Gables May 27, 2023 and couldn't have been happier with our experience! Teresa was incredible from the time we reached out about scheduling a tour up until the end of our reception! Not one single detail was missed and our day was absolutely perfect!!! The venue is absolutely gorgeous, the food is delicious (& there are so many options to choose from), & the service was second to none! We have returned twice since the wedding for dinner and Teresa always remembers us and greets us like we are part of the family! I HIGHLY recommend Green Gables and assure you that Teresa works so hard to make everything special and as low stress as possible!!!

We held my daughter's wedding at Green Gables this past weekend. Perfection! Teresa was wonderful from the moment the venue was selected through to the following day when we picked up our items. It is a gorgeous location to hold a reception. The outdoor patio was perfect for the cocktail hour. The Tuscany Room offered the perfect romantic setting for the dinner and dancing. Thank you Teresa!

We had our wedding at Green Gables as a last minute venue and it was better than what my first choice would have been. They were extremely accommodating with my decorations and helped incorporate them into my wedding. They created amazing floral centerpieces using the vessels I provided. Green Gables staff ensured the day ran smoothly by decorating, conducting the rehearsal, and day of. They quickly responded to all my questions. We were able to stay, have our wedding guests stay, have our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all on site. All the guests were asking how I found this hidden gem! It is such a beautiful venue with excellent staff.

We celebrated our wedding at Green Gables in October. Our guests were definitely wowed with the venue! Food was fantastic (just not sure where the leftovers went. As there was food not eaten and none was sent home with us), bar service was on point, and Teresa definitely kept things moving! I think my only complaint would be I wish we could have had the ceremony earlier than 5 to give more time for pictures and dancing after dinner.

One of my favorite places!! Back story: I am from the Lehigh Valley area. In a series of unfortunate events, I had to travel to the Latrobe area. I booked at Green Gables just for an affordable place to stay. Once I got to Green Gables, my spirits lit up! The views in and around the restaurant are unforgettable! After only a few minutes of walking around the grounds, I knew I didn't want to have a wedding unless it was at the Green Gables. Long story short, I invited our families for a stay and wedding. I could not have imagined my wedding day going any better! Teresa & staff, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so happy I have stumbled upon your establishment & I cannot wait to revisit not only for the warm comfy rooms, but the delicious food and homey welcome!!

Always a great experience. Beautiful old rustic style restaurant, event center, and summer theater. Very cozy with several fireplaces, hand hewn beams and large windows providing natural light. Interesting history of the place too so be sure to grab a flyer at the door or ask the owner Theresa who always seems to be helping somewhere. I've been there for a really nice wedding and for a Thanksgiving buffet. The food is excellently prepared by a team of very capable chefs. This place is not cheap, but it provides an excellent value with the bonus of a wonderful atmosphere.

Recently attended my sisters wedding here. The venue is beautiful but the woman that was there to “help” us was extremely rude and just pushed us to hurry up because we were not meeting the time line they had. Even though we started the ceremony a few minutes late we then had to sit for over an hour for food. Why did we need to rush? Over all the event was very nice but she defiantly needs to work on her people skills

Such a Rare gem! Shabby/Chic, Rustic, Cozy, Heavy on the shabby and heavy on the chic. The walking gardens and swans were so relaxing. The chef was incredible (presentation temperature flavor) Quirky, luxuriously shabby decor. LOVE IT! A bit pricey but worth it. After dinner the cheese cake was the best I have ever had. Very firm and not too sweet, perfect! They are between Alcohol license, so BYOB. You cannot pass this up. Very unique! $85 for two, no appetizer, no drinks. We were here 17 years ago and loved it all over again! We will be back!

Worse holiday buffet EVER. We were at the table several minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Then we asked the bus girl if we could juat go to the buffet. The wqotreas came to our table about 15 minutes after we were seated. I could foefive all that, but the food was SO BAD! The sweet potatoea were burnt and stone cold. The white potatos were lukewarm and bland. I hate brussel spouts so I didn't try them, but the vege medley (broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots) were cooked to mush and floating in liquid. The chicken breast was too dry to eat. The ham was ok. The only thing on the carving station was over cooked lamb. Other than a couple of salads, that was it. Dessert was just mediocre. Frozen coconut cream pie, dry chocolate bunt cakes, and some bizarre chocolate pudding and mini marshmallow concoction. This is the only holiday buffet that has ever left me hungry. There were three of us and it was 124 dollars and we all left there unsatisfied. We should have gone to Dennys or literally ANYWHERE ELSE.

This place is a beautiful, quirky, and charming find. A leftover from an era when car travel meant narrow roads and slow meals prepared with personal touches and unique flavors. We found it online while looking for a place to share a romantic evening near Somerset. What a find! One thing that surprised us was the miso dip accompanying the garlic shrimp that tasted like a lighter fluffier ricotta cheese sauce. The pork shoulder was slightly sweet and avoided the over-bright acidity of some braised pork dishes. And the wine list was complete without being pretentious or overly expensive. From our secluded table, we looked out on a mossy pond and were able to observe frogs, fish, and dragon flies finishing their day. In the other room, a wedding party danced into the night without disturbing us, even as we were able to see the groom dance with his mom. After dinner, we took a long stroll around the grounds to watch the fireflies peek out of the darkness. All in all, a perfect date night dinner.

I love the look and feel of this beautiful old building. It does have the smell of an old building - my husband says it's "woodsy". Id call it something else, but I still enjoyed the atmosphere. The menu is very creative and the food was delicious! Our server was terrific. I was sorry to hear that the playhouse is no longer next door. We didn't know that they were BYOB, but our server took very good care of us, and we were very grateful for that!

Came here on a Friday night for a special occasion with my SO. It was my first time, but not his. Service was great, ambient was perfect, portion sizes were worth their prices, and not to mention the unique and flavorful spices utilized on the dishes. LOVE this fine dining place, and am looking forward to returning to try out other dishes on the menu!

Don't expect to get the extensive list of drinks or food listed on their website. We went there on July 9th 2023 and the waitress informed us it was BYOB!! So we ordered iced tea for four people that they made using one tea bag!! The limited menu included a steak dinner for $44.00 and after the watered down tea and rolls the waitress informed us they only had one steak!! They charged us $12.00 for tea and rolls!! The waitress said yes we need to update our website!! Do you think?? That is false advertising!! We will never go back!!

Amazing atmosphere combined with rich food and a commanding wine list makes this destination restaurant a must visit. I mention the atmosphere first because WOW. The grounds are beautiful and kept immaculate. The inside is no different with an upscale rustic feel that will make you want to nap after your meal by their enormous fireplace. We celebrated our 5th anniversary with Green Gables. Our meal was delicious and filling. Our hostess was lovely and courteous. Our waitress was attentive and had a great personality. We will be returning very soon, and perhaps, for every anniversary. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

My husband and I were staying in the area for the weekend and were INCREDIBLY pleased with our experience! It was like being in a movie… a gorgeous roaring fireplace, no one else was in the dining area when we arrived, our server was helpful and kind, the food was delicious from start to finish. Try the tartare and the scallops, the steak too; you won’t be disappointed. Will absolutely be back if we’re ever in the area!
