Update: Followed the advice of Lieu Jones and tried North Huntingdon. It is so much better. It is way bigger, something this location can't help much, but it is also better stocked and cleaner. Perhaps Penny Lane will improve with the coming changes, but for now I'll drive the extra 3 miles.Loses orders, rude and dismissive employees, rude and dismissive manager even when 2 incidents on 2 occasions are pointed out. Felt like Anna thought I was fishing for a gift card, but I don't want gift cards or sorries. I just want to be able to spend my money without a bunch of drama or issues and every time I have them, there is a risk I will take my business to the plethora options that may not provide an unpleasant experience. As if the experience wasn't bad enough the automatic door closed on me as I left. Sad this could have all been resolved by Anna being a little more empathetic and simply stating they would monitor employee/customer interactions and review systems to ensure orders aren't lost. Instead she made me feel like she thought I was making up stories.

Update: 10/16/2022They have a great selection of apples, grapes and all thing Fall!!+++++++This Giant Eagle was a great experience with all the produce, meats, deli and all the vast choices!!! We will be back for the foreseeable future!!!

it's not a bad place. some items are way overpriced, and some are good deals. like when they sell pepsi 2 liters 4 for $5.you can't beat that anywhere. Scozio's has always been like this, ever since they were in Jeannette as Shop n Save. what I didn't like was the workers complaining loudly about have to work there on New Years Day. I get it, it's a holiday. but you work for food service. if you want holiday's off, I would suggest a new profession. she complained they based the store being open on foot traffic from years before. yes, that is how this works. save your complaints for the breakroom.

I had always had good experiences at different Giant Eagles for cakes, so I chose that route for our wedding cake and it was one of the best choices we made for our wedding! The bakery staff (I had talked to the same older woman a few times) very kindly provided me with everything I needed to know about ordering a wedding cake and seemed genuinely happy to help. Since it wasn't a small business bakery, it was a relief to not have to call months beforehand to order. I wanted a very plain sheet cake that fed about 120 people and had our last name on it. I think I stressed them out since that was all I wanted, because I received a call the week before about my cake and design lol. The cake tasted great, our guests agreed and looked perfect! Better than I had imagined. I will definitely choose this Giant Eagle for any event when I'm in need of a cake :)

I was shopping here the other day, and noticed the emergency exit is blocked by a display on a pallet. I brought it to the attention of an employee that emergency exits are not supposed to be blocked, and they just said they've told that to their boss, but nothing has been done to fix it. Hope they finally get around to fixing it soon.The layout of this particular giant eagle is a little confusing, and it is a bit more expensive than Walmart. Overall though, it's a decent grocery store with friendly staff.

Everytime I shop there, I need a electric cart have a bad ankle. The carts never hold a charge long enough to complete my order. Usually go to other stores to shop.

I think it’s a great place to go to because it’s close it’s an amazing experience every one is nice even the managers as well you get in and out and you get great foods to look at you get talk to people if you know them. The store is very clean it’s shiny all around they do a nice job doing that. Give the managers some credit they brought this store to life and they did a nice job doing that very very good give All of them credit because they do a nice job keeping the store clean produce do a nice job every one does a nice job there and also customer service to make sure everyone is on time and making sure everyone wears there uniforms. It’s a very nice store foods are nicely stocked everything is. That’s why I think giant Eagle is a very great place to be in because just is. Giant Eagle is everything you want.

I guess I have to continue to give this store my business out of lack of other options basically. It surely isn’t for the customer service or convenience on a consumers end. I had a question about 1 of 3 packs of meat that were all packed on the same day, within minutes of each other, based on what the label had said. Two of the three packages were marked for sale, the third package was not hard, even though it was packaged at the same time. Upon checking out, the cashier stated to me “if it is not mark, then it must not be on sale”. I then stated to her, that the other packages were marked and were within the same date and time, but she repeated exactly the same line to me. After a bagger took the package from the cashier and went over to customer service, it seemed like none of the young adults could make a decision on if the package of meat should be on sale or not, and of course that department was on break. So I left without my extra package of meat - only to call in a little later to find out that I should have received the discount.And I am not sure that I deserved an attitude or to be hung up on when calling the store 35 min to close on a holiday. I was simply calling to ask do we were aware…but being in retail and the service industry in the past , I try not to stop in businesses within closing hours. I might just think twice about stopping or calling here though the next time I need anything.

I was a very loyal customer to a different grocery store until visiting this new Giant store. It is super clean and the entire staff is so helpful and friendly. This is my new "go to" grocery store! I highly recommend you shop here.

I’ve been using this store since the Murrysville one is closed for remodeling. It has all the same items and has the added benefit of being privately owned and not a corporate store. It’s clean, the staff is nice and it has a good selection without being too big

This place has went down hill. Treating customers like criminals. The cart cleaner yanked a cart from my wife's hands the other day. So unprofessional. We have been spending our hard earned money elsewhere now. The shopping experience is less stressful and the other stores appreciate us more.

I would recommend that if you live in the area you're better off taking the time to drive to the GE in North Huntington. Every time I go to the Penny Lane store, it seems as if the prices are never consistent with what they advertise. On top of that, it seems as if it takes a really long time to check out even when it's not busy. Not a fan of the customer service from the employees here either.

Pharmacy staff are tremendous. The rest of the store? Well this is NOT a corporate store but a franchised one. Prices are normal Giant Eagle. Overall the place could do with a clean. There ARE NO SELF CHECKOUTS. Those have been broken for 2-3 years and the checkouts are now just blocked with ugly shelves. Therefore if you only need a few things be prepared for some really long waits at peak times and for your frozen stuff to be bagged with non-frozen, bags to be massively overloaded, etc.

We have been shopping here for 20 years. No more! Our daughter in law worked here for years and checked us out every time. Our daughter now works there and has been checking us out. One of the supervisors, Carlene, decided that we are no longer to use our daughters check out lane no matter how long the lines are elsewhere. Today when I was in I confronted her about it from a different lane. She took my daughter my daughter of her register and took her in the back for a talk with the store manager! When I asked to speak to the manager the supervisor insisted on being there. She yelled at me, and continously put her finger in my face. She told me daughter is a liar. The manger stood there and allowed to yell at and belittle a customer. This supervisor has been giving my daughter a hard time since she started. For a little background...my daughter is very good at her job. They had her training new cashiers after 2 weeks there. They dont let you train till you are there 6 months. She doesn't skip work, she doesn't complain, she is a hard worker. She is working her way through college. This woman has no reason to treat her or us this way. The manager even admitted that there is no written rule against checking out your family. The other cashiers in the store today told us that they check out their family members all the time. This was a calculated attack on my daughter. There are plenty of other stores to shop at.

Limited selection of products compared to other Giant Eagle stores. There is never anyone at the seafood counter to help you. These are the 2 reasons that I prefer the Greensburg and Irwin locations. However, it is always clean and shelves are always stocked. They have a convenient location which is usually why I find myself there.

Very clean and friendly staff. The butcher is always willing to help when I need custom cut meats. Lisa is one that you can always find in the isles if you need help locating an item. No produce department is perfect when it comes to buying bagged items but the service counter always makes things right with replacement items.

If you are handicap and need one of the scooters this store isn't safe. I have always shopped here. Going with my father who has to use a walker I realized how unsafe this store is for accessing the scooters conveniently without risk of falling. I could barely get a scooter out for him to safely get into. They are sandwich together by the front entrance with barely any room to unplug one,sit in and then place your walker/cane in the basket. I did bring this to the managers attention. That this was a hazard for anyone handicap. Two weeks later there was no change to there set up. This will no longer be my local store if they can't do something that would cost them no money but just make a little more space for costumers to safely access the scooters.

The employees are genuinely nice and helpful. I asked if the had toothpicks to the employee stocking the shelves and he knew the exact place where they were at. Always a pleasure shopping at this Giant Eagle!

Tired of getting food products that are damaged. The bags of popsicles, the individual popsicles are always opened. The boxes of cream of wheat cereal, the boxes may be sealed but inside the packets are opened. Tired of people not giving a dam about the service they provide. My granddaughter ran into GE for me with my debit card, we have 2. She was using the pin for a different card, so my debit card didn't work and the cashier paid the bill with her own card! Who does that? The people at GE Penny Lane, that's who!

I just went in there to grab a couple things before taking my son to a movie. I grabbed a bottle of Zico Coconut water due to the fact it had a save $.75 off coupon hanging on the neck of the bottle. When I was cashing out the coupon would not scan do too it was expired in April this is June. I didn’t make a big deal about it the cashier actually called the supervisor over without asking me and said hey can you take this song it was on the botto I didn’t make a big deal about it the cashier actually called the supervisor over without asking me and said hey can you take this off the coupon was on the bottle? She replied no it is a couple weeks old and I said well you better go check yourself because they all have the same coupon it’s not my responsibility to check your inventory and coupons. Such a stupid thing to upset a customer over right? On top of that I forgot to give Advantage card which would have save me another four dollars or so due to the rebuttal over a $.75 coupon. Seriously I get hundreds of dollars to this grocery store quickly and they will take a $.75 coupon that’s on their own merchandise? I just want shop. So I hope and $.75 worth it lolAgain I understand a coupon stand it but it’s expired but for Pete’s sake’s just manually take it off when you’re wrong you’re wrong it’s the principle of the matter

This GE has a decent variety for the size of the store -- it's not like N. Huntingdon or Greensburg, gigantinormous. I actually find more variety in certain items HERE than in the bigger stores.The pharmacy staff is really friendly and they get to know you by sight AND by name. They even spend a minute or two just to chat - very relaxed. I'd MUCH rather that then have someone who acts angry that I'm at the counter.
