I took my two golden retriever puppies both 1 years old to get groomed. When I went to pick them up the owner I believed approached me. Saying how horrible my one was. How she needed serious training and socialization. I was shocked and so upset. We taken both to training(paid a lot of money for) They both passed with flying colors. We take them everywhere with us! The one who was “so terrible” took trips to nursing homes. I was so upset I contacted my trainer and he recommend maybe first trying a new groomer. So we did… the new groomer said they were both amazing and she couldn’t believe they would say that…… so we just left it alone. BUT then we started daycare and the staff commented on how well behaved they are and how well they listen.. They couldn’t believe that the groomer said that as well…. So I think the problem is not my dog… its the place. I seen multiple reviews like this. So I needed to tell my experience. I’m glad I had this experience because I would have never found the amazing groomer and daycare I have now! I 100% don’t recommended based off my experience. Boarding situation not great (dark basement like area with concrete floors etc)We stopped grooming there as well because everytime we went it was “oh we found a flea on the dogs, but we got it off for you.”Every. Single. Appointment.And we never had fleas ever in our home or on the dogs. Try somewhere more sanitary first.

Our Airedale terrier was groomed there on May 6, 2022. When we picked him up the groomer stated he was growling at her so she muzzled him. Therefore she couldn’t do his face. We were surprised because no one has ever told us this before. Everyone always says how loving he is and gives tons of kisses during grooming. She also stated she at least got to do his nails which was a false statement due to the fact we just had them done at the vet the May 4, the Wednesday prior to his grooming appointment. Once we got Charlie home he was licking like crazy under his belly and all around his privates. Finally my husband and I looked, to our shock it was all open sores which looked like burns. After him licking all evening and into the morning with no relief we took him back to our vet. East suburban animal hospital. They stated that he not only had an infection due to dirty clippers he also had burns probably due to the fact the shears were over heated or hot. He was put on meds for both. No wonder he was growling when they were cutting him. Sad they would allow that to happen to an animal. Obviously he was letting them know they were hurting him. It is exactly a month later to the day, he is healing however he is scared from the burns around his belly and privates. I tell everyone how our dog was treated during grooming not to mention lying regarding trimming his nails. Here is the best picture as of today a month later. He still will not let us touch him there at all. Still using ointment on him. Never ever would I take Charlie there again!

They kept my dog alive but the fat old woman was rude when I scheduled AND when I picked up because I couldn't time travel and be there before their ridiculous 12 PM closing time (picked up at 12:50). She lost a customer today.

I am so glad I brought my dog here. My parents dropped him off and there was a little confusion but the women working were so understanding. They cut my dogs hair exactly the way I hoped they would after we spoke. He was so soft and smelled so good. I can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you have a dog that may need a little more attention and special care like mine (he has hip problems and can sometimes be very protective of it).

Carwens is not BBB accredited for grooming, they are also under new management— my dog has been groomed there in the past with no problems, I was not told they were under new management or that prices also jumped.My dog was severely burned by the groomers shears. his private areas are still unhealed and it’s been almost a month after. Had to take him to the vet and get antibiotics for the infection this had caused.My dog is trained, and the groomer said they had to mussel him due to him getting “mean” and to find out it was because they were hurting him is infuriating.. he has scarring and is still in pain due to their uncleanliness and negligence.NEVER TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!

I was EXTREMELY pleased by how well our puppy was treated! And their pricing is outstanding!! I will continue to return there for my fur baby every time I need boarding! I would recommend this place to every dog owner around! Thank you for treating my pooch so well!! Oh, almost forgot, they also have plenty of room to play, big fenced in yard! So happy that I found this place!

My husband and I have used Carwen's for many years and we have only experienced positive grooming and boarding for our Shepherd's and 5 cats. I can definitely say they do a great job!!

This kennel is under new ownership. Midge is not running it any longer. I am very concerned. My sister and I boarded our dogs here last week due to vacation. Perfectly healthy, all shots up to date. We picked up our dogs, mine dog was not feeling well for a few days. Now, both dogs have runny noses, and are sneezing/coughing. We feel confident it is kennel cough. Neither dog has ever had this in the past, ever. When we picked our dogs up there were dog feces on the floor of the kennel inside run. They had feces all over their beds which were so bad they needed to be thrown away. Both dogs are house trained, and haven’t had accidents for years.We have called & they claim no one else has called in with an issue… the kennel was packed when we dropped off/picked up. I will never board my dog here again. I wish I would have been made aware the kennel was under new ownership. We have never had an issue in the past with this kennel until now.

We had taken our dog to get groomed several times, but missed one appointment due to a scheduling conflict. They said they could fit him in the next week, I dropped him off and was told they were busy so it may take a little longer, about 2 hours. I said I was off and could bring him back, but they said they would fit him in. I waited 2.5 hours and called to check on my dog, they said he would be done in a half an hour. I left and went to pick him up, when I got there I was told he still wasn’t finished. He still had to get his face and nails done and he cried very hard in front of me. I didn’t care for the way the lady was speaking to my dog, when she knew I was there (can’t imagine how it sounded when I wasn’t there). I will be honest my dog struggles with getting his face and paws done and I’m sure was very anxious after being left in a cage for 3 hours, he was there for 4 hours! I would not recommend this place, unless you prefer a long wait time.

They are very friendly and try to accommodate when they have a full house. They have indoor/outdoor runs for the pooch. We usually schedule a bath on pickup and she always comes home smelling nice with a soft coat and trim claws.

Jay is fantastic! She's professional and always makes my dogs look beautiful! We've used her kennel facilities when going on vacation; our dogs were taken care of just like they were at home!

These ladies are amazing with my deaf dog. He willingly goes to see them for grooming. He has skin issues and other allergies and they are wonderful to him. He loves them and they obviously love what they do and their clients.

My dog, Duke (a Berner)had a blast there. He is a puppy, a rather large puppy, and he was allowed to run and play with some Goldens that were there for daycare as well as another puppy. I had him bathed before picking him up and he looked great which was also at a great price. I would take him there again

5 stars is great but how do you know I really love this place? I bring my dog. I told my mom to bring her dog. I told my brother to bring his dogs. Both of them.Bring your dogs. They're good people, and the groomer place isn't bad either.

Carwens always does a good job taking care of our dog. He's been there several times for boarding and grooming. You can tell they genuinely care for your pet.

Try going in to pick up your dog before they call you. Went early and was horrified to hear her yelling at my dog while grooming her. Screaming at her to hold still and not move her leg. Then as soon as she knew I was there she went back to being "oh, you're a wonderful little dog." Do not take your pet here!!!!!

We went there for our golden retriever for the first time. As most reluctant to try a new place but came recommended. The ladies there welcomed our Golden with kindness and we're very experienced with the overall grooming. I would highly recommend this place.
