We stopped at Petco at the Waterfront in Homestead, PA, to pick-up pet supplies. While I was shopping, my husband (a U. S. Veteran) came in because he had to use the restroom badly. He kindly asked the cashier to allow him to use their restroom, but she refused. He then explained to her that he really needed to use the restroom. Her response was to tell him that they are not a restaurant and are not required to supply a public bathroom. The bathroom was only for employees. He became agitated and said you are fixing to have a mess on your floor and she still refused. She threatened to call Security on him. Then another employee, (I guess he was the manager) told her to call Security and got into it with my husband. The manager told him he could go to the restroom in the parking lot, if he wanted, but not in their store. They called Security. My husband stood with Security and screamed my name, because he had to go to the restroom. I needed my pet supplies, so I went to checkout quickly. I asked the cashier why they wouldn’t be reasonable and open the bathroom for my husband. She raised her voice to me and shouted, “ He said he was going to pee on the floor!” I told her I heard that, so why wouldn’t they allow him use the restroom? She screamed to the manager, “I’m not dealing with this!” He told me to leave the store and refused my $130.00 sale. Can you believe this? They lost a large sale, simply because they were too ignorant to open their restroom for an elderly man who needed to go. The restrooms they use used to be open-to-the-public until COVID-19. How very inconsiderate. You should be ashamed of yourselves. All that drama, because a human being needed to use the restroom.Thank God Lowe’s knows how to treat their customers. They have a public restroom and decent customer service.

The manager of this store went way above and beyond to help us with a simple question about our dog. He took plenty of time and answered our questions expertly and advised products to help. Was refreshing to get this level of service by someone obviously passionate about what they do!

Disappointed in the communication from management to employee. I came in for a few aquarium supplies and requested a price match at the checkout. The employee was more than happy to match the price from the Petco app. When met by her manager, Amber the employee was belittled and treated with disrespect. I don’t expect anyone to be treated in such a manner especially during customer interaction.

We visit this Petco mostly for the aquarium department. One of the managers has a really good amount of knowledge about the fish, and she asked about our setup and other tank residents before we bought any fish. I appreciate that - I do a lot of research but not everybody has the time, so having a knowledgeable person available is great. The fish we have gotten have been healthy so far, with no ich or apparent bacterial issues. The tanks all appear clean and no dead fish or excessive debris. (They all share a water system so if one tank is bad, it can affect all of them.)One frustration is that sometimes they seem to be understaffed. Checkout lines can be long, and it did take a while for my husband to get someone to scoop up the fish for him on one visit. However, I suspect that's corporate staffing policy and not this store alone.

The general manager of this store, Luke Mikula, solved a major allergy problem in my beloved cat that two vet visits couldn't resolve. My cat was licking himself to death. He had developed many bald spots and sores. Luke with his vast knowledge of nutrition recommended a diet that worked. My cat isn't obsessively grooming any more and his hair is growing back. Before this I was a very infrequent customer of PETCO but now I'll do all or most of my shopping there. I also learned that veterinary medicine isn't that different than what is practiced in humans. They just keep pushing drugs for the most part. Unfortunate!

The product I wanted was out of stock. Petco emailed me when it was available. I ordered for pickup & the staff treated my dog & I very well. I wish there was a Petco closer. The Halloween hoodies from Bootique are very soft - the hood of an XL is a bit tight on a Pibble head, but he doesn't really need it on.

Thank Petco for being the only store in town that carries the food my dog eats. Let's face it only orders are great until the dog runs out of food before the order arrives. Petco saves the day in my house by offering a discount for online pickup orders! It's cheaper and faster!

DO NOT send your dog to Lucia for grooming. She cut off all my dog’s hair when we agreed to keep all of his hair on his head and face. It was by far the worse haircut my dog ever received. His haircut was nothing like what was asked for. Note, this review is not a reflection of the other groomers, ONLY Lucia.

This was my first experience taking both of my dogs to Petco to get groomed and Rayann at the grooming department made it the best experience ever!! Rayann did an amazing job on both of my dogs. It was the best haircut they ever had. Plus… she gave me great tips and info on switching my dogs to a different much more healthier dog food than I was using for my furry besties!! Thanks again Rayann!! We will definitely be back to see you :)

The grooming salon here is fantastic! They were really gentle with my puppy and he had a great experience for his first bath/haircut. Lucia did a wonderful job on his cut. We found a great length for his coat and he still feels so clean a week later.

Before I head to the store to get ferret litter I ensure my point are added to my card. This visit was $10. I get to store cashier rings up litter and states $19.99. I ask if she added my points off since I scanned my petco card. Cashier stated no. I requested she do so and my order went from $19.99 to $6.41. This is NOT the first time the cashiers have failed to pull points and needed me to remind them. Please advise cashiers to ensure customers are utilizing their benefits (since they expire) so that THEY KEEP COMING BACK DUE TO GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Also, since I have the card I get a percentage off...cashier didnt even bother to check...smh...please retrain

Went to Petco with my new Rottweiler puppy and the staff was nothing short of amazing! Very helpful with any and all questions that I had, and everything was pretty easily accessible! I'll definitely be visiting there again soon to get new toys for my pup!

Poor fish inventory on a regular basis. I have traveled to the store at least four times in the last two months. Every time I go the variety of fish available is very poor.I have seen fish in the store which I could not purchase because the aquarium was just being setup. After the setup I returned to the store and the fish were not available.When I questioned the store employee if they would have more I was told they don't carry them. On the next visit still not available but a different employee said yes we do carry that variety the store employees can't even agree on what the store actually carries. I returned to the store and low and behold they had three different varieties I have been trying to purchase for months. Sooo... I can't buy them this time because a number of their tanks are being quarantined which is not the first I have experienced quarantined conditions at the Waterfront store. I have come to the conclusion that I will have to start doing business with Elmer's aquarium if I want healthy fish and reliable consistency in available product. Trip after trip at today's gas prices and the time spent traveling to Petco has become expensive and quite annoying to not being able to successfully shop at the Waterfront store.

We purchased 2 aquariums, supplies and over $100 worth of fish on Sunday. The fish died I contacted the store explaining the situation and that every fish we bought from them died where as the ones we purchased the same day and they are all still alive. I was told they would swap the fish because my 5 year old lost the receipt even though I paid with my debit card and have a record of the transaction. The service was poor from the beginning we had to keep looking for employees to assist us. Never again

Petco usually has what I’m looking for, shopping for two elderly ladycats.I love to look at the birds. There are always some sad conures that I want to take home but they are expensive and I’ve never owned a bird. I know it would outlive me and potentially be annoying at times but who isn’t? They deserve love.

I am very pleased with my experience at Petco with Dana J. We just love her. When I first scheduled for my puppy Bronny to get a grooming appointment, my friend suggested someone named Yvonne. But she was booked. So we got Dana, not knowing. I was so worried because I didn’t want anyone to hurt him or anything because he is a very anxious and energetic labradoodle.. He’s my baby! When I first met Dana, she listened to everything I wanted for Bronny and I explained how anxious and full of energy he was. At the age of 4 months when we started going in November 2022 and I couldn’t of ask for a better person for him. Dana does a wonderful job with him. Bronny gets the full works done. So I really appreciate her because I know he can be a handful. I called her a few Months ago and explained that he was getting neutered and I would want him groomed before getting the surgery. She adjusted her schedule to accommodate Bronny and I. I made her a shirt to show my appreciation. It says “ Best fluffin groomer ever. “ because she is. I had dogs in the past and some groomers will just fit you in when they can and just do what they have too. Dana is very caring, patient and does an amazing job at what she does. My Bronny loves her.Dana treats Bronny as if that is her fur baby. We are so excited to have a place not that far from our house and a person I can trust with my fur baby!

I've been going to this Petco for at least 5 years now, and every groomer that has taken care of my dog has been wonderful. I can remember most of them by name because of the care and attention they gave to my dog and I always know that she is in good hands.

I take my dogs to have their nails did. My dogs are old little fellows, both 15. The groomers are fabulous here. They get the job done and are empathetic to their elderly needs. Great experience. I have been going here for a long time.

I love this store and so does my dog Chloe! I love that I can bring her in and the employees are always so friendly! I’ve used their grooming services and they have pointed out coupons I can use to save money! They also have a fantastic kitty litter system which helps reduce plastic waste and it is cheaper than buying bulk even on Chewy! The groomer was even able to handle my Chloe when trimming nails (which Chloe doesn’t like one bit). Overall a fantastic store.

I hope this is posting for the specific location and not just Petco in general lol. The Petco Waterfront (PA) location is the best in the Pittsburgh area. Their fish are always healthy and happy, and they have the biggest selection of supplies at any store I've been to. They have the best variety of Bettas in their store and they always have such healthy fish. I wish every Petco location was like this. Pic is of my newest Betta I got from their store, a blue marble King betta. I looked EVERYWHERE for a King betta and the Waterfront/Homestead location was literally the ONLY store in Pittsburgh area that had them, plus other varieties of Betta other than the standard ones.
