We use hometown a lot. Great people working there to help also with anything but what has happened to the deli? Those guys are just plain rude!! Today is Sunday Sept 23. I went to the deli and some new to me guy walked up and stared at me. Never said a word! Opened his eyes like what do you want?? I said can’t smile or nothing? He never flinched and never said a word. Like he did not want to be there at all and huffed a little like I just ruined his day! He had short dark hair with a scruffy kind of face and eyes that just stared straight ahead like nobody was home. Why are they there.Last wk I asked for a pnd of ch. I got a half pnd. I said oh, I needed a pnd! That guy huffed like I interrupted him. I did tell him what I thought of him. It was not good but he acts dif now. I’ll just go to other stores as I don’t feel we need to be feeling like we are bothering anyone. We are spending OUR money.

Hometown grocery was very busy but the prices were fantastic. Have never been there before but we will go back there again we live in Altoona. Everyone was pleasant who worked there. Keep up the good work and a great pricing. It helps older folks like us be able to buy more and pay less.

My mom and I go to hometown on a regular basis . The whole entire staff couldn't be nicer and are very helpful when we need something . Hometown is a great store for my mom to go to because it's smaller than a regular grocery store. They have everything that the larger stores have and more. Pros: wide selection of food, processed, cold, and hot, as well as household items, most workers there are very nice and will help you find what you need.Cons: food and other items are overpriced, and one woman behind the deli counter can be incredibly standoffish with certain people.This would be a much better store just by lowering the price of food and other items. (And yes it was overpriced before Harris was president as well)

Best place to go for cheap, quality cuts of meat. I usually shop whats on sale and it's always good. They also have a great markdown section, I've got 3.50 protein bars for .50 a piece. Keep an eye out on what they have! My only issue is with the bagging. Not sure if management tells cashiers to minimize bag use, but my snacks and other ready to eat products shouldn't be smashed in laying against my raw meat purchases.

Went here today to get the special on pork tenderloin. The store was busy as a bee hive, but employees were ready for the challenge. The customers were all greeted and served with a smile and before long the line at the check out dwindled. I love that everyone is so polite and friendly here. Usually they also have great deals on various items every week. It's one of my regular stops for groceries. Keep up the good work!

I don't know what the problem is but the deli department seems to be lacking and I noticed some of the prime people who were there are no longer there bring her back you need her

Usually has what I need, however you will pay way more for items here than at Walmart or Aldi's. Some items are double the price even triple. Their produce is usually very icky. I'm not sure if they don't rotate stock or what, but I have seen so many rotten things. Do not buy meat and cheese from the cold case. It is usually past date or incorrectly labeled. Always have a deli clerk get it for you.

I like the employees, the service, the food ( especially the chicken) but the parking lot is always a little too crazy for me and if it was the closest store to me I could understand the appeal better. It does feel comfortable once you get in the store to shop if the tension from the parking lot has worn off.

For the area this grocery store could be considered quaint. Certainly has that small town feel. It is a tremendously convenient for quick shopping visits. There is plenty of selection, and they even carry some hard to find items other larger grocery stores in the area do not have. In reality this is just as large as any grocery was 20 years ago, but by today's standards it is smaller.

Generally good produce and really great deli, but fairly pricey for everything else. You've got to watch that they give you the same price as in the flyer. I've been burned a few times from that. This is a very small supermarket, so don't expect to find anything fancy.

It's a great market with a quaintness that shouldn't be under estimatedHas all the basics of a Big Supermarket but a Iess varity. Produce and meat departments are excellent. Well worth giving it a try you will be pleasantly surprised.

I love this store. Deli prices can't be beat. I usually find good buys. Employees are nice and helpful. I don't live that close to the store, but make special trips just to go here. (Hollidaysburg).
