We recently bought a German Sheppard from the Hazleton location and he is doing great! The whole process was very easy and quick!! It was very clear that Drako was socialized and played with people & dogs as he is great with both! He is the perfect addition to our family and we are so happy with him!!

Purchased a Havamalt from Brookside Pups (Scranton Location) and she is amazing. However the staff is rude, inconsiderate and they treat you like you are an “idiot”!After purchasing our Havamalt, we decided that we were going to get Zoe a friend to help with her separation anxiety which is natural for the breed. They have a Maltese at their Williamsport location that was priced at $2200. Which was way too high of a price for the quality of the Maltese that they were trying to sell. I had purchased two prior Maltese from different breeders; The first one was a teacup Maltese with multiple champion bloodlines on her Pedegree which we paid $900 for her. The second had no champion bloodlines but we paid $1100 for her. In no way is Brookside pups Maltese worth $2200!I asked them if they would be willing to sell that puppy at a reduced price and they replied back with an email stating: “Ok!” I then replied back that we would be headed out there the following day to purchase the puppy and was replied back with an email stating the price is $2,200 (I was also told by the sales rep at the Scranton location when we purchased our Havamalt, that they don’t discount their puppies) proving that their previous email stating “OK” was nothing more than a sarcastic and arrogant reply.I would recommend to anyone and everyone thinking about purchasing from Brookside pups to avoid them like the Ebola or Covid plagues! They refuse to say who the breeders are that they are purchasing from; which anyone buying from a reputable location with reputable breeders supplying them would give you that information! (**Edit 10-26-21: I asked for this information when we purchased our Havamalt at their Scranton location!)As many other reviews have said the staff is extremely rude!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!Edit 10-26-21: In response to Brookside’s arrogant reply below, I have decided to disclose the emails publicly so all can see for themselves since as the owner says; “I’m lying”… As I warned them, I don’t take kindly to being treated like I’m an idiot!Simply view screenshots of our emails below in the photos to see the TRUTH for yourselves!

Had an amazing experience at Brookside Pups in Hazleton. The staff was great. I was finally able to adopt my Siberian Husky. Thank you so much for everything. We named him Psych. He is great. Didnt take long for all of us to fall in love with him.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DIDOn, January 17th of 2021 my girlfriend and I decided it was time to add to our family. After doing research on places to get a puppy, we chose brookside because they had pretty good reviews. We had our eye on an Australian Shepherd, who we named Jax. So we took the ride from Easton all the way to Hazleton to bring Jax home. The employee at the pet store was very nice and she let us play with Jax for a good bit of time before we bought him. Everything seemed to be perfect up until Wednesday, January 20th. Wednesday Jax started to vomit up everything he ingested. We kept him on the same food from the pet store and even the same feeding schedule. He had loose stool all week but we just assumed that it was from his nerves of being in a new environment. Wednesday Jax refused to eat anything and over the night going into Thursday his vomit developed a color to it so we rushed him to our vet. The vet took Jax in immediately. Little did we know at the time, but that was going to be Jax's last day at our home. Jax was diagnosed with Parvo, a pretty potent disease commonly found in puppies. The vet explained to us that it takes about 3-14 days for the dog to show symptoms to basically assure us it was no fault of our own. Once Saturday hit Jax still did not show any signs of improvement. Our vet recommended we take him to a 24/7 animal hospital so that he could get more intense care over the weekend since they are closed on Sunday. So that is what we did. Meanwhile we reached out to the store and the manager called my girlfriend. At first she seemed really sympathetic and told us to keep her updated, but as the vet bills grew she distanced herself more and more. Tuesday morning we got a call at about 430 am telling us Jax became septic overnight. It was the very last thing we wanted to hear. At this point, Jax spent more nights in Vet care than he did home with us. Parvo is a very contagious disease and the Friday after he went in we did a 8 hour clean at our house to make sure it was safe for when Jax could return home. To our horror, Jax never did return home. Tuesday, January 26th our beloved Jax passed away. We were living in a nightmare. We chose Brookside because of their positive reviews, we paid $2,500 for what they promised as per their website as a "Happy, healthy puppy". However this was not the case. Due to the lemon law in Pa, they had to reimburse us the price of the dog. However they have refused to do anything more. The best the owner said she could do for us is give us his brother for free. But at this point, I do not trust them, nor the breeder they do business with. We did a little digging and it turns out Jax came from Missouri. The owner gave us a bs sob story over the phone how she pleaded with her husband that they only way she would ever get into this industry was if they used reputable breeders and not puppies from a puppy mill. However this place in Missouri is a puppy mill. The kennel group that the "breeder" claimed to be apart of said they never heard of the guy. How is it that we were able to find that information out with one phone call and they couldn't? They weren't even able to provide the USDA breeder license numbers for breeder himself. The lady admitted to us that they normally get their dogs from places in the Northeast but due to the shortage of puppies from covid, they had to branch out. She said that "this guy just fell through the cracks". To me, that is unacceptable. We have now made plenty of phone calls to groups like the Humane Society, the Better Business Bureau, USDA and The Attorney General. One of the wardens who does inspections at Brookside Pups stated that if it was up to him he would have shut them down years ago.. I want to make this point clear, this review is not for me. This is for you. Please do not make the same mistake my girlfriend and I did and do business with these people. They do not care about you, or the animals they are selling you. Seeing Jax the way he was towards the end was absolutely heart breaking. RIP Buddy

We came here to check out a Husky puppy. We worked with Gina, who was nothing polite, informative and helpful! Zero (our new Husky) was well taken care of. We received him in great health and spirit! We would definitely recommend them to others. Which we already did on the drive home! 😅

We recently purchased a puppy at Brookside. We were told it was a male puppy. The paperwork stated male. The day we picked up the puppy I questioned the woman twice to ensure that it was a male. She insured me it was. Five days later we learned at its first vet visit, the dog is actually a female. We then called the store and were told by the person working she would call the owner and get back to us. About five minutes later she called back and told us “It was a mistake. You can bring the puppy back or keep it.” There was not even an apology. We have had our new puppy in our home for just about a week and they’re only solution after we have bonded, bought supplies, toys and took the dog to the vet is “bring it back.“ It’s not like we bought a microwave that isn’t working. I caution anyone who wishes to buy a puppy here. It is quite clear they don’t care enough to ensure that all of the information is correct before the sale even when you questioned it and can care even less once they have your money. We are trusting that the rest of the information including what shots the dog was given are correct. It is pretty sad when the owner won’t even call themselves and has no remorse whatsoever for their error.

This place was great! I walked in laye one afternoon on a whim and found EXACTLY what I was looking for. A small female chihuahua. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The price was reasonable considering how much other places were asking for the same breed. She came home with me immediately and fits perfectly within our family.

Brookside pups just a warning they sell dogs with genetic issues (as per 2 vets I saw they both said my dogs issue was genetic) when you notify them NOT to get your money back but to advise them not to purchase from that breeder the woman argues with you and sticks up for the back yard puppy mill breeders they use! It is funny that a woman that is obviously not a vet that runs a pet store calls 2 vets liers (lol who is educated here?) I know better then to buy from a place like this but I believe I was sent there to save this puppy. My dog will be facing pain which we are hoping to be able to control with medication for the rest of his life and at least 2 surgeries. I even contacted the ACA association and they are going to notify the breeder of this genetic issue. It did strike me odd that they have such a short term contract with finding out genetic issues its either 10 or 30 days when other places give a 1 year genetic issue guarantee. It is almost impossible to diagnose a genetic issue in that time frame. Just a warning buyer be aware if you want to invest $3,000 in dog dont make the same mistake I did use a real breeder not a backyard breeder do research ask for references and contact them. Thank you for reading I hope this will help at least one person.

Probably the worst "pet store" in all of existence. Would give 0 stars if I could. My boyfriend, Christopher Green, bought me a boxer puppy at their Hazelton location on January 15th, a few days later he became very lethargic and was consistently vomiting. I took him to the vet and she determined that he was underweight, very sick and had a congenital defect. She suggested I contact brookside to see where to go from there. The "manager" told us to return him that same day for a refund, and so he could be seen by their vet. Everything from this point on has been bad business and drama. The employee in the store took the puppy and locked us out when we attempted to call the manager for a receipt or something stating we returned him. All of our calls were ignored until we left the building. She called us back afterwards and told us it would be 10-14 days to process a refund(after claiming I "surrendered" him) It's been much longer than that and now they have told american first finance (financing company that they have a merchant account with) that we never returned the dog, and that he is still in our possession. So now we have a loan with no purpose that is still being paid on, because they feel the need to lie about solid facts. Very unprofessional for a so called business.

Recently bought my pup Husky from Brookeside pup and stuff in Bloom. Shes 4 months old and not potty trained. Shes afraid to go outside or up/down on stairs. Shes not crate trained. She needs alot of work. Despite that, we love her. However, I could have bought a husky pup for half the price I paid of 2600. I wish I would have researched better before going any buying her. Most husky pups are like 1500. Not happy with the price at all, but I bought her because I didnt know there were breeders around who have them. Also, Im glad to get her out of that box she lived in. I will say her fear of outisde makes me think they dont bring the pups outside.

Got a beautiful yorkie about 3 weeks ago from the Bloomsburg store, they said they had a healthy puppy guarantee . Took her to my vet for check up and her ears were badly infected. Someone clipped the hair inside her ears instead of pulling it. Also was positive for Guardia, they told me they were going to reimburse me but still waiting and no response. Get your puppy checked asap. Always take a stool sample on your first visit with vet.Update as of 6-18-2020.. puppy has developed a cough about 2 weeks ago, vet thought it was allergies, treated with Allegra and got worse. I then found another vet...it's kennel cough. Antibiotics given and when she's better we have to redo her puppy shots. Watch any puppy you buy from here, get them checked thoroughly

I adopted my puppy 12 days ago, when we got home after a little while we heard he had a raspy voice, then he had a cough we took him to the vet the next day since with COVID is so hard to get an appointment, when we took him they told us she had kennel cough, today is the 11 th day now he’s throwing up, she is sad he was playing these couple of days and we thought she was getting better. We are going to the vet again tomorrow. This place has not return the money for the antibiotics like they said they will if the dog is sick within 10 days and now we feel like this puppy has bigger problems. They haven’t even called, the antibiotics weren’t a lot of money but the problem is Not the money is the no interest from them this puppy can die and we are the one that lost in this situation, we are so upset we gave her ice to keep her hydrated till the morning, she throws that up also.I will update on what happens tomorrow but right now I regret ever making this purchase that was a lot of money thinking they were taking better care of there. Went into the store last week to purchase a pet, I was looking for male Boxer or German Shepherd. Once I entered the shop a girl came from out of the back and looked right at me, no hello, no may I help you, no anything, and went back into the back. I located a male German Shepherd and was very interested. I stood there for a while and the girl never came back out. I was the only one in the shop, I guess they did enough business for the day. There were about 4 or 5 puppies there with no one tending to them. If your not worried about finding them homes at least tend to them. That Shepherd cryed the whole time I was standing outside his box, I wanted to comfort him but the girl was to busy with whatever was keeping her in the back, so I left, heartbreaking! Will not be returning there, so sad.

I bought a Golden Retriever puppy from the Wilkes Barre Store some 4 years ago. Recently this beautiful boy was diagnosed with terminal leukemia. I reached out to the store only to inform them of the heartbreaking turn of events that occurred, only looking for a response and to warn them of possible future purchases from my terminally ill dog’s breeders. I have yet to receive a response. Additionally I understand that this form of Cancer can be caused by environmental issues, but the main source of this disease is genetic in nature....my intention is to inform the owner of this horrible outcome and educate potential dog owners of this tragedy. Make sure the breeders are respectable and do the research to find out if there is a history of disease in any of their litters. I was warned .... but fell in love with by boy...and now suffer the consequences...pray for us! God bless Beau!......In response to the owners review...I didn’t say I got my puppy from Hazleton...and there was store in Wilkes Barre that no longer exists...Wonder Why???...In speaking to the young man who ran the store he said that the store on the San Souci Highway in Wilkes Barre was part of the chain of Brookside Pets...Buyers beware...

It was great coming here and getting the dog that I've always wanted. The customer service was always kind, from anna keeping in contact with me about new arrivals, to Michael being so kind about sending photos of the dog the best he could once it arrived and lastly being taken care by lee and his rugrat shirt, he was very kind and sweet and even helped me put together the carrier. I appreciate the great customer service from you all.

Hi I bought my 3 month pug in nov 2020 from brookside puppy store in scranton pa when I brought her home her to tobyhanna pa she ended up sick for a few days. The pet store made us buy the food they was giving her in there store but she wouldn't eat it .neither would my other dogs so I just throw it out and gave her the food my other dogs eat she did well with that.. well she still was throwing for a couple days so I made a appt at my vet for a check up and he looked over her ran test on her everything came back good thank god.. so for a few days she ate boiled chicken and rice and she became much better.. But now shes 8months and doing great.. But I was debating if I should get another puppy or not..well that's my story and my experience with brookside was good

Purchased a puppy and found out he has horrible worms. I messaged these people multiple times, sent a copy of my initial vet bill, followed up and was promised a phone call from the manager multiple times and haven’t heard anything back. Yet they are posting new dogs everyday. Shows how much they actually care about the dogs... I’m not one to post reviews but I don’t recommend.
