Received detailed service and attention to my pet needs. Easily tied up our salesperson for about two hours getting our rabbit and fish items taken care of. Our helper took the time to answer all questions and give us complete attention to detail and compressive care with our purchases. I could not ask for better service, patience and prices. 🤗

On Thursday March 14 2024 was out shopping and had to buy pee pads for my shihtzu. I don't know anything about them. This Petco at High Pointe had no one to help me. I walked the store twice. There was a cashier only. Not one other associate to be found. The cashier wasn't friendly. I then asked for manager. She was rude and abrupt. Her excuse was she was busy doing work????? What happened to customer service. All she had to say was we apologize and how can I help u. I'm the customer. I was rude n abrupt too and I'm normally caring kind and understanding. I worked retail over 20 years. And have never ever spoke to a customer as the cashier and manager did. I bought the pee pads and left. I will never shop Petco again. I wish I could speak to a District manager because I need to understand why a cashier and manager both spoke to me like that??? I give this store a -10. So disappointed and upset.

I want to thank the staff that was working tonight that helped me and my daughter set up a whole terrarium type of thing for hermit crabs she just got at the beach. The staff member was extremely educated on hermit crabs and was very very helpful and I cannot thank that person enough. I'm so sorry I didn't get his name but he was excellent and even the cashier was extremely nice and very helpful. For being so late at night and almost at closing time, they had the best attitudes. I highly recommend coming to this particular location. Kudos to these amazing people. Management needs to know about them!!

The young cashier was more interested in speaking to her friends that also were supposed to be um working in the store, but all three of them were just standing around talking, so she barely had time to really acknowledge me the customer and assist me with what I needed. I asked her if I could please use PayPal points for my order and she just looked at me and said you don’t have any which I know I did. She then looked at me and said oh well the systems down anyway so it’s not gonna apply it anyhow well which was it was the system down or did you look and I didn’t have any points , very poor customer service.

Came for curbside pick up order. After waiting for 20 minutes, went into the store to just get it. Looked like they only had like one person there as another customer was already at the checkout register and had to ring the bell twice to get somebody to come check them out. All this putting shareholders over anything else has to stop. Spend the money and hire & pay an adequate level of staff.

Groomers not willing to clip my dogs nails. My dog has been to several groomers who have all been able to cut my dog's nails, but I decided to try Petco for the first time today. Will not be coming back as they refused to cut her nails because she was nervously squirming on the table but not acting aggressive. Other groomers have been able to cut my dog's nails with some patience but these groomers were not willing to put in an effort and gave up after less than a minute.

I would not recommend this store this store has rude employees always on their phones and very disrespectful. I had a groomer named Emma and she should not be allowed to work there at all she does everything so wrong. I took my dog to get cleaned and when I got it back the ears were dirty just everything wrong. I would not book with that Emma girl or anybody there again. Petco owners if you are reading this you gotta fire that girl they wouldn’t even clip my dog nails. She was very disrespectful and had an attitude. I would say she’s one of the worst groomer in that store. Emma needs to get fired immediately and some of the others employees too cause that’s not acceptable.

Huge place and staff are friendly and helpful. They have a seevice center for pets for grooming etc., what caught my attention is they have this sweet treat stand that looks like your in a fancy bakery shop. Although most of their items I must say are expensive!

I'm giving 5 stars because of Rashad in aquatics. Beyond knowledgeable, helped me set up my sons tank. Had an answer plus some for every question I had. I'll be strictly using their aquatic section just for Rashad. Love!

Do not buy crickets here! First of all they never have enough (wonders how they feed their own reptiles). I prob lost 40$ over last 4 months in cricket deaths. These crickets do not live in their habitats as they die very quickly.Go to that fish place in Lancaster. 500 crickets for 20 dollars compared to like 150 at petco for 20. Plus they live a week and a half or longer with proper care.

So I come for the first time ever to Petco so they can give a shower to my baby boy and this lady Patricia make me wait at the register at least for 10 minutes and have to go and get some one to call her even she was looking at me several times once she get out with the worse attitude ever tell me the she can’t take my dog today because she can’t do him before her shift was over remind you the my appointment was at 6:45 and I got to the store at 6:30 I will ever step my self in another Petco ever again I will stay with Petsmart always never had this issues so think twice to leave you love one with this lady because her attitude with a person the can say something back I can’t imagine what pets go thru with her where no one see whats going on

The store is tiny and very poorly organized. The employees were nice but not doing work. I placed an online order that said it would be ready in an hour. I didn't get a ready notification so drove out there. I saw a total of four employees standing around talking up front. The store was quiet and only one other customer was there. After finding my dog's toy in an aisle that has only harnesses in it, I went up front and paid and left. There is no reason my item wasn't grabbed for pickup. There is also no reason it should be set (properly) in an aisle with harnesses. The available clean-up stations were nice. The store was well-stocked and generally clean.

The aquatics section was... dismal. A lot of dead fish, fish with clear parasites, a lot of neglect. I came here looking for some new shrimp but was heartbroken by the state of the tanks. It's not good. Rest of the store seemed fine but I'd steer clear of the aquatics section.

So they usually have everything that you need however sometimes you have to flag down someone or go looking for someone in order to get some of the things that you may need so that is a little tacky but highly understood with the unemployment rates soaring and a lot of businesses being understaffed so overall my experience usually goes well

I only purchase feeders and basic soils for amphibian care from here, so this review probably isn't helpful for non-amphibian owners.Overall, this location seems to regularly and frequently be out of coco-soil and insects, except for super worm cups and loose crickets in a big bin behind the register. Most prepackaged cricket containers are over 75% dead, sometimes 100%. Stacks upon stacks of stinking tubs will sit on the shelf for weeks sometimes, so it generally isn't worth looking through them. This is similar for dubia roaches and generally true for the islander roaches. Fruit fly colonies are usually absent, but the large tubs are nice when they are available. Hornworms are hit or miss. If you want super worms, though, there's always like 20+ tubs of them.The fridges are usually stocked to the brim with meal worm cups, which tend to be almost full of living worms. The calciworms are 0/5 in having a single one alive in my multiple attempts to get some. Wax worms are rare, but are similar to the calciworms, but occasionally you'll get a cup that has some alive in it. The earthworms are generally good, but check any containers that are over two weeks old because they are sometimes full of ice or dead worms.Medicines for amphibians are often missing. Supplements are generally stocked. UV bulbs and heat lamps are in great supply. Water bowls, moss, tank wraps, and fake plants are always available.As for the amphibians themselves, it's generally slim picking for anything besides tiny pacman frogs and elusive tomato frogs that I can't ever seem to spot even though their tanks have bugs in them. The very rare White's Tree Frog or Egyptian Toad will be available, but rarely more than once or twice a year.The cricket bin behind the register is great. Outside of delivery problems, it's always stocked and you can get dozens for a good price.

I placed an order online for pick-up in store. I picked up my items on Friday, 4/2/21 and continued to receive emails that I still needed to pick up my items. I received one final email saying to pick up my items or the order would be canceled and my money refunded. I called the store to let them know that I had already picked up my items. They were so thankful that I was honest that they told me next time I'm in the store to ask for Skyler and he would give me a discount. I'm very appreciative of their excellent customer service. Being honest pays off!
