Purchased 4 new tires and paid for lifetime alignment of the vehicle in February 2022, August 2023 had an inspection done and requested alignment checked. Fast forward to February 2024 when I did a tire rotation at home, saw how worn the tires were on the inside after only 2 years, checked the receipt from August 2023. When I brought up that I requested the alignment be checked, I was told they don't just check it when its requested because the techs don't get paid for that, you have to request an alignment be done for them to look at it, not just an alignment check. Then had to pay for my alignment because they cant find records of me ever getting the 4 tires there or the lifetime alignment in February 2022. Come to find out from a former employee afterwards that Pep Boys quite often deletes records from their system. Ive already contacted corporate to see if they can find the records that this location somehow doesn't have in their system any longer.Ive attached photos of the 2 tires that were worn due to them not checking the alignment like I requested in August 2023, and now expect me to pay to replace them because they somehow cant find the records of an almost $1,000 statement for tires and lifetime alignment.Update ... After a few days I got a call that they found my work order where I paid for lifetime alignment of the vehicle, and they refunded what I paid for the alignment, but saying for the tire warranty it only had roadside, however I don't recall the specifics when I bought the tires, I do remember being told about pro-rated replacement cost based on a percentage if the tread is worn down faster than usual, but don't have that on record apparently anywhere. So I am up-ing it from a 1 to a 3 for now.

Slow as humanly possible , rude. I brought in Company car for an inspection. Even made an appointment for 11am drop the car off at 1030am. I come by at 1pm to check on the car still wasn’t worked on. Still parked in the same spot. Wonder why I had an attitude. I didn’t get car out til 4… I would have went to jiffy lube for all this. Look at oil change sticker buddy wrote thanks on date of service for what? This a company car. So if we go over the six month mark how we suppose to know unprofessional

Worst customer service!! Made an appointment for 8:30 am, appointment was accepted. The appointment was for a state inspection. Upon arrival I was told it would take 2 hours, instead of being told they were behind and it would be 2 hours before they could even start my car. I sat in the waiting area with no updates thinking my car was being serviced until I watched an employee walk past me with my insurance card and registration to go out and start my car at 11:10am. Wasted my whole morning and I am still here at 1:04 pm as I write this review. If it had been made clear from check in what to expect, I would have taken my car elsewhere. This is completely unacceptable for a state inspection that should have only taken an hour. This is the Pep Boys on Jonestown Road in Harrisburg, Pa.Update: the Manager handled the situation well. I appreciate him listening and understanding my frustration.

Stopped in to get a FREE brake inspection because I knew I needed front brakes. I told the technician I was interested in the standard brake service, which was $169.99. I told him this as soon as I got there. So he took my car back, and after sitting on the waiting area for nearly 2 hours, the tech came beck with an estimate for over $725. First thing they did was disregard what I initially wanted and changed the package from standard to premium which was $279.99 then they added electrical diagnosis for $60, also they said I needed new rotors just because there was a slight bit of rust on them which is easy to remove but instead they wanted to charge me another $259 for new ones. Then tax and labor took the total to over $700. I said thanks, but no thanks.

I had purchased tires on-line using a buy 3 get one free Black Friday deal. I made an appointment, but unfortunately when it came time to actually get the tires I was told they were out of stock. I was disappointed because I really wanted the tires I had picked. But the store manager graciously agreed to match the price I was planning on paying on a better set of tires. I got better tires than I had planned on getting and received a great deal on them. You cannot get better service than that!

I work @ AutoZone and I personally deal with these guys often a couple times a week. Very thorough, pocket friendly, always communicate any issues that may arise in a timely manner and at this point I wouldn't go anywhere else. These days it is tough to find people that do excellent work along with being done in a timely fashion so I would recommend these guys to family/friends and I would 100% bring my personal vehicle to this location. Ask for Chuck he is a heck of a guy and so is the rest of the crew down there. Very professional.

Dropped my car off for my appointment at 2, they said the evap diagnostic would take awhile because they have to smoke it but never said it would take them a while to get to my car. Supposedly the tech was going to leave at 5 (even though the store closes at 7) no one called me so at 6 I had to call them. First they lied and said someone was looking at it right now and nothing was wrong with it and then caught their lie . Ended up picking up my car, wasted two Ubers because nothing got done. You shouldn’t accept appointments if you cant service that same day smh.

We took my husbands car in to get looked at as the check engine light had popped on and off. The car had been running fine, but pepboys came back with an estimate of roughly $4,000 worth of repairs. We don’t know a ton about cars, but we knew that if what they said needed replaced actually needed replaced the car would have been driving poorly, and for a decent amount of time. So we took it for a second opinion. The second opinion came back at a $226 estimate. Huge difference! They’ve certainly lost our business.

Was at the store for a state inspection. The whole process went pretty well until I had seen the work that they completed. They stated my bumper needed to be reattached to pass state inspection. For context, structurally the bumper was attached but the sides where it attaches to the fenders where not. This hadn't bothered me much but I was fine paying for the half hour of labor for them to reattach it... until I found out what that actually meant. After the inspection I went out to get my vehicle to find that the "reattachment" had included exclusively duct tape for the repair. I went in an talked to the manager. He tried to explain it away saying "this was the only way your car would pass inspection without drilling holes in it." When i brought up the fact that anyone could have done the same job in a couple minutes he said, "Well then you should have done it yourself." He made no attempt to make up for the blatant overcharging of labor for this job. I hope this is a one of a kind case, but it makes you seriously question the integrity of the employees working here.

The Pep Boys on Jonestown Road Harrisburg was very slow and took incredibly long. I made an appointment for 11 am and I was told it would be at least an hour and half, so I waited in the lobby. It turned out to be 3 hours, if I was aware it would take around 3 hours and that they were behind on their appointments. I would of left and came back. They also did not give me updates unless I walked up to the front desk and asked for them, so I was sitting there with no knowledge of how much longer. Overall, I had a poor experience at this location and would not recommend.

Horrible service extremely slow. I had 11 AM appointment. I got there at 10:40am. Over the phone the day before when I make the appointment, they said it would be approximately two hours for my car to be inspected and have new tires put in. But when I dropped off the car this morning, the lady behind the counter told me it would be about three hours. I said OK. Now 2 P.m. I called to see the status of my vehicle and she told me they’re just bringing it into the garage now to start doing what they have to do. That is complete nonsense. I really just felt like going to pick up my car at that moment, but I really need to get the inspection immediately we just moved into the area.

Pep boys took great care of us. Nicole took the time to speak to and address my wife directly recognizing it was her car not mine. This is not always the case at a car service center and we both appreciated that. Cole took the time to walk out to the car with us at the end and show us a feature on the car that was new to us. Pep boys earned our return business.

I came in to the jonestown road store half an hour before close with an emergency. Jeff was not only able to help but found me a great deal on a tire. I wAs in and out in no time and good to go.I seriously can't say enough about the experience! Thank you.

Kind of sad I couldn't give this place 0 stars. Went through a program of benefits from where I work and bought a set of tires for a very good price. I used Tire Buyer website and then chose this Pep Boys for installation, since it seemed to be the most reasonably priced. When I called the day prior to my appointment, this Pep Boys service center "didn't know" I was supposed to be there that day. So the bad experience started. Pep Boys service center did get my car that day in, but much later than initially agreed upon. There was the option to pay for the installation fee up front through the Tire Buyer website, so I did that. The mechanic from Pep Boys seemed annoyed with this when I told him I had paid up front and couldn't figure out how to enter the service request on the computer. To which I told him to not get annoyed with me since this is a contract they have with Tire Buyer, if anything they should be annoyed with Tire Buyer and not me. Then I needed new TPMS sensors as well, so I bought my own set, since I've had bad experience before with this being overcharged at another service center. I have the new set of sensors to the mechanic, (who was already annoyed about the fact that I was getting a great deal on tires and installation) immediately said, "well!, we really can't guarantee these sensors to work with your vehicle". To which I replied, "man, just please do your best". Picked up the vehicle and I asked, "so you guys were able to program the sensors?", to which the technician replied, "yeah, I think so. Nobody said anything about them not working". So I trusted him and left. To our surprise we were getting the dreaded message on the dashboard that said sensors were faulty. Luckily, I have a friend who I knew owns a TMPS sensors reprogramming tool. I borrowed it and it took me a whopping 10 minutes to program the sensors and now everything is working like a charm. Pep Boys of Jonestown Rd, Harrisburg, my advice is, if you don't like doing business with Tire Buyer, just don't have your shop available for installation for Tire Buyer . And advice for any customers who may consider this place, they have terrible customer service and gauge people for the same tires you can find online. Go somewhere else.

Had an accident with front end damage. Was towed to Pep Boys for evaluation on coolant leak. Technician could not open the hood to evaluate and I was told that it needed to go to a body shop. I was charged for evaluation, dye and shop supplies nonetheless.Follow up........I have been further informed that the analysis was performed from underneath while the vehicle was on a lift. Pep Boys did not attempt to open the hood and rightly so, as it would most likely not latch back down. If I could add more stars, this would be a 4 star review.My apologies for the negative review.

Pep Boys on Jonestown Rd Harrisburg PA is down right pathetic and disrespectful. I was quoted one price and when picking up car was billed $200 higher. The store manager laughed in my face when I asked for an explanation on the difference. The lady Nikki refused to take accountability for giving me one rate and charging another. I continued to ask for a breakdown and the police were called. They also put a remanufactured part In my car without asking or informing me and then said I should have known it wasn't new. I'm awaiting someone from corporate to contact me back

I’ve been referring my customers to Pep Boys for several years ONLY because Chuck in the service department is phenomenal to work with. However, they now have a woman in service that is EXTREMELY RUDE and lacks customer service skills.If my customers have to deal with her, I’ll definitely be sending them another direction.Update after getting vehicle back….. Your business did NOT fix the problem we brought the car in for 1500.00 later and now want to pass the buck as to rather you’ll fix it correctly or not. I’ll be addressing this directly with the CEO Scott Collette and if I get nowhere with him, it WILL become a legal matter. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER!!

I have been taking my cars to pep boys in Harrisburg for over 20 years. Never have I had a bad experience!!! Everyone there are top rate,and tell it like it is.. my truck is 20 years old,and running like a new one. Let them tell you what needs done,and your car, or truck will not let you down..

At first went to tire pro across the street to get a estimate for some damage done due to bad weather amd they wanted 1400 for extra work that was not needed. So went over to pepboys and it turns out they wanted half around 688 for the work. They also got it done within hours vs it would of been a week over at tire pro. Thank you.

They did an outstanding job!I had a TPS light come on, stopped twice, and put air in the tire. I knew it had to have more to correct the concern. I pulled in at 8am, Chuck took care of the two ladies before me and wrote up my work order. He said it'll take about an hour or so. The Tech took care of the valve stem replacement and balance of the tire and was out by 9am! Excellent job by everyone. I'd recommend them to everyone.

Manager was great but scheduled online 3 days prior for 1130am appt, which showed as 4pm to them even with the emailed confirmation when i showed up. Charged for items that were supposed to be removed or not charged at all. They did end up refunding, but overall not a great experience for my first experience with them.

They didn't have the tires I ordered online in stock, and Chuck called me and told me about another tire that is their most popular for trucks and to come in, and he'll show me. Great tire and a lot cheaper, too, than the ones I picked out. Service was excellent, and they had my new tires on my truck in no time.

Never,never will we take our car to the Pep Boys in Colonial Park , Harrisburg, PA again. We dropped our car off on Wed. night with the promise of our car being finished on Thursday. Thursday rolled along and they did not get our car finished. We were going on vacation in Hilton Head, SC. on Saturday. Pep Boys promised our car to be finished on Friday. It was not ready on Friday. We wanted to leave on Friday. We had no choice but to pick up our car, without being done, and find alternate transportation to Hilton Head. Assistant managers, Megan and Buddie, were unprofessional, rude, less than helpful, and very sarcastic about our situation and their lack of effort. Chuck, the service representative, was very helpful and understanding and seemed embarrassed by the behaviors of the management team. We were told the Regional Manager would telephone us, but he never did. When we picked up our unfished car, it was parked on the side of a public road, not Pep Boys property. We would not recommend Pep Boys to our worst enemies!!!!! We would like to rate them zero stars but there is no option for that.

Yo honestly don’t feel bad when you pop off at these guys. Took them 2 1/2 hours to return my car that they couldn’t complete the inspection on yet. How does it take that long to find out my emissions ain’t ready to be tested yet. If it weren’t for my prozac doing it’s thing I would’ve be told to leave for sure

The service at Pep Boys was top notch. My husband needed two new tires for his Dodge Ram Pickup Truck. They ordered them, got a great price for him and installed and turned them and balanced all the tires on the truck. Thank you for great service.

It’s very easy to go online and schedule an appointment. But I don’t understand the point of making an appointment if I’m then stuck waiting for almost 3 1/2 hours for a light bulb to be replaced.
