Talk about service! The staff is extremely personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I dropped off a Nintendo Switch OLED a day ago and they've already repaired it. Prices on games and systems are great and they have a wide selection across all systems.

I live in a neighboring state and make the almost 1 1/2 ride out to this store every few months because this store is that great.They always have what I'm looking for at the time, their prices are more than fair, AND to top it off this has been the only place I can find that was CRITICAL in helping me rebuild my game guide library.15 out of 5 would recommend.

I love this store. The staff is super friendly and humorous. Lots and lots of selection! From consoles, games, accessories and more, classic Game Junkie is your one stop shop for everything gaming!I am currently getting a repair done. I will update that experience after it's finished.Edit: I was quoted 3 weeks for the repair and it was done in 3 days!! What?? The repair guy is amazing. He took extra caution to repair my girl in a safe way better thank I could ever do. Thank you!

Went to the store today to bring in my ps2 and Xbox controller to get repaired. I was met by a gentleman by the name of Frank Stanchek the owner of the store. He was pleasant and polite. Greeted everyone who walked into the store with a smile. Had a nice conversation with him while he took the time to clean my PS2. I will recommend anyone who is a gamer and loves not just retro but current games as well. I will be coming back to the shop to make all of my purchases.

I usually don't leave reviews but this establishment deserves more 5 star reviews. Over the years I had stopped in the Classic Game Junkie Glenside location to buy gifts for my brother. Always very fair prices on games and carry some rare gems there. It's even fun to just stop by to see what they had to remind of the good ole days of gaming. With the raising cost of living and prices I decided to sell off some of my game collection. I have had two interactions selling my games to them and both times were beyond great experiences. First time I sold the brunt of survival horror games for the PS2, such as the Fatal Frame Series, Rule of Rose, Siren and a few more. The older gentleman that works there is kind, welcoming and likes to crack jokes. I took his offer he made was more than fair snd what I had in mind. I left happy that day but a bit sad I sold the games but I'd rather have someone enjoy them than sitting in my shelf collecting dust. Last weekend I realized that why do I have these systems and games laying around? Always promised myself I'd go back and play the Silent Hill series. Never happened 5 years later. So I packed up my ps2 and the remaining of my collection with my old Gamecube with some games. Another trip to Game Junkie! Same older gentleman was working along with a younger lady. Again, a wonderful interaction. The young lady tested my two systems while multitasking helping other customers and finding the items they were looking for. She tested my equipment thoroughly and fast paced. The older gentleman looked at all my games while making friendly conversation with me. Showed me the retail price which then asked me what I was looking for. I named my price and we were on the same page. So I left once again a happy person. Overall this place is beyond great whatever your gaming needs are. Want some vintage games or consoles? They got. Want some Japanese games? Oh, they got it. You like gunpla? They got kits. Need repairs on systems? They do it. Need an old disc cleaned and shined up? They do it. And just want cash, or store credit for more new games? Then go to Classic Game Junkie! I really like this place even though I am not a true gamer anymore and use my PC mostly if I ever get the itch to game. But if I ever get back into actual console gaming Game Junkie is where I will go. It is so great such place exists ever since GameSpot bought every other chain store and then stopped selling old games/systems, what a dumb idea on their part. Now its just current systems/games and Funco Pops. Independent game stores like Classic Game Junkie is where it's at. So take a trip, sell a few games, buy games or just see what else they have it might shock you. Even if you're not a gamer anymore still go it might spark something inside you to try that old Nintendo game again. Thank you Classic Game Junkie! Five stars for the welcoming experience received. The owner welcomed EVERY single person that came in no matter who they were. That has not been my experience in life. I appreciate actually feeling welcomed and seeing someone that understands and cares about the value of that in everyone's lives.I will come back to purchase something again for that reason alone.They do, however, have an excellent stock of retro and "classic" games and gaming equipment. I observed them giving honest feedback to a customer about them fixing a gaming remote versus buying a new one elsewhere instead.They also have lots of classic memorabilia to purchase. The retro gaming music playing overhead is a nice touch.Overall, a clean, well-stocked, and friendly store!

I love Classic Game Junkie! Their inventory is impressive and as someone who collects both retro and current gen games, it’s great to have a go-to for all of my gaming needs. All of the employees are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. In particular, Frank (the owner) is always so warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to deliver a good experience. Recently, my partner and I came in with a question about a PS2 peripheral accessory (apparently a Japanese exclusive “guncon” controller) not knowing much about it, and Frank took the time out to take a look at it and test it out. We came away with so much more knowledge about it and it’s always so exciting to learn more and engage with others who are super passionate about games. Whether you are a game collector or just a game lover in general, you want to go to Classic Junkie. Thank you as always for the great experience at CGJ, Frank and team – you guys rock!

Frank seems to be a good man. He has a good selection in games, the staff were friendly.But his prices for trade in’s are atrocious.I would highly recommend going somewhere else to sell your games. I did,he was offering me around 1,700$ for my games. I went somewhere else and got 4,250$

An absolute gem for people like me, born 1999! They have all the games I grew up with here and boy is it an amazing feeling walking in each time. The nostalgia is unmatched! The price on everything, in my opinion is beyond fair. Make sure you take the time to visit, I looked for a store like this for over 3 months!

I was there getting a video game, and I was impressed with the selections. The cool thing that ultimately stood out would be the retro gaming display, and it's good for those who love to play some videogames. As far as my experience went, I thought it was excellent. To add, I describe Classic game junkie as a gamer's paradise. It definitely deserves some recognition and 5 stars and a 10/10. If you love videogames and anything retro, classic game junkie is the place to be.

Highly recommend to any real deal gamer or casual player, this is your spot! The vintage game boxes and advertisements are worth going alone, darn near a museum!

I don’t typically write reviews but this place deserves the recognition, not just the Glenside location but the Lansdale location as well.Staff is always very attentive, very knowledgeable on their games and repair services, and most importantly I believe they have some of the most reasonable prices for their games.There is retro stores that don’t even replace the batteries for GBA/GBC cartridges and put them up for sale above market value. Earlier this month I bought Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow and two Mystery Dungeon games for $200 something dollars which was extremely reasonable. Oh, and they also do trade-ins with better trade value than somewhere like GameStop or Best Buy lol.Try to come here at least once a month to check out both locations inventories for anything new and always leave with something and always very happy.The only thing I wish this business had was a way to see what games they had through an online inventory so I could buy the games through the website and pick them up or see what location had which because I’m 40 minutes away from each location. Not a big deal though since their responsive on social media.

Man, this place is packed with nostalgia! This little shop is full of decades of video game history. It's a bit cramped, but that is quickly forgotten as you become lost in memories while perusing the many systems, games, and other game related items. I took my 11 yr old son along, and even though they have newer games he could relate to, I think it's the parents that truly appreciate the essence of this place. And the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
