After staying up until 1:00 A.M. today (researching hiking shoes online) I went to sleep exhausted. I had read so many reviews on so many different brands. I realized that some sites were filtering customers’ negative reviews and were not always presenting the truth about the products they were selling. I pressed on in my search for the ideal hiking shoe.As my eyelids grew heavy I zeroed in on the Oboz Sawtooth X Low (in Eucalyptus Green). I had read about the company’s practice to plant a tree for every pair of Oboz sold and that impressed me. However, after having located my hiking shoe of choice I began to look for it in my size. It was nowhere to be found on the digital landscape. Crazy.Today, some twelve hours later I walked into Trail Creek Outfitters in Glen Eagle Square totally clueless as to the brands of shoes they stocked. I walked right up to a display where I immediately pulled my hiking shoe of choice down off the shelf (in utter amazement)! What’s more, Pete (best salesperson ever) was right there to help me find my size. He had the shoe in two sizes that fit my feet, and I left the bricks and mortar store elated with the pair that fit my feet the best.Couple of other special touches offered as part of the Trail Creek service scenario…the staff have clean hiking socks you can use when trying on your hiking shoes and a mini rocky slab for experimenting with your shoes on rocky terrain.The staff at Trail Creek are professional, and they really know the products they sell. They can be trusted to only sell you a shoe that fits your feet. And they will measure your feet when asked.

Such a great place to poke my head in every few months. Rotating stock and killer selection. I'm always being introduced to brands I've not heard of/touched/tried on. Always worth the visit!

Very kind female employee called to let my friend know she left her wallet at the store. I called back shortly after to ask if I could come pick it up and the employee already was home. She was so nice to come back to the store to meet me so I could grab it because we needed it in the morning before the store would open again. I appreciated her compassion going the extra mile to help us on a very difficult day.

I always try to buy things from local businesses for obvious reasons, but sometimes, instance like this really make me question my decision. I bought a Patagonia down jacket from this store on Dec 28, 2022 and about a month later I found out that the same jacket was on sale with the price reduced by more than $100. I contacted Patagonia and they told me to contact the store instead. I called the store and was told to speak to the owner during the weekdays.The owner asked if I have worn the Jacket. I had, so I said yes. Then he said they don't do price adjustments on worn items. That rule doesn't seem practical because when people buy items they use it. But that's fine. What concerned me is along the lines he says, "This is not a rental store....." and "We'd have no items in the store if we were to refund everyone who bought from us.......". If you don't do adjustments, that's fine. But I don't think it was necessary to make those remarks. Not a pleasant experience for me at least.

Avoid this place at all costs if you’re someone of color. The clothes are amazing but the atmosphere is extremely unwelcoming. My mom and I walked in to shop and when the woman went to the bathroom, the first thing the older white male said to her was “are you alright”. My mom and I were the only ones in the store. After I had tried on my dress and went to purchase, the same white man decided to stand at the register with the sales associate which made myself and my mom very uncomfortable.That being said, you should never judge a book my it’s color. Do better Trail Creek.Follow up:I had a refreshing conversation with Mr. Ed Camelli today regarding the review above. He helped tend to my concerns and did not diminish my views and feelings towards the situation yesterday. While speaking, what stuck with me is when he said "I cannot say I can fully relate to what you're going through but I can empathize and try my best for this store to do better".Very progressive, very welcoming and I could hear that Ed was genuine. Thank you Ed for the reassuring conversation.

Great brands to select from. The store is layer out great with plenty of space. Pricing is fair but I don't ever remember any sales. I could be mistaken. Service and attentiveness would greatly increase sale here. The seven or eight times I have been here it was like flagging down a cab on 5 th Ave. The door was lock during open hours on my last visit. Looked like they had a sales meeting going on inside. Still if you wanted quality outdoor clothing this place is a must check out. Till next time.

I ordered a sling bag online and received confirmation that they had it in stock and availablefor pick up at this location. I got a call the next morning saying the bag was out of stock in black but they had ot in another color. Disappointed , but figured these things happen and perhaps their system wasn't updated. I said I'd come by to check out the color. When I got there i was told that they had the bag but that before I could get there to pick it up, someone came in and bought it. Huh? How does that happen? So nobody puts aside the item that i paid for and sells it to another. Whats the point? Its like making a reservation and then they give it away. Not only did I not get an apology but he tried to sell me a bag that cost $20 more. If these guys truly cared, they would have offered me the more expensive item at the price of the one I bought online. Never dealing with them again

I love this store! The employees are always so friendly and the dogs make our visit every time! I was recently in store looking for a pair of Blundstone boots that were sold out everywhere else. I almost bought them on Amazon and then I randomly thought of this store. I’m so glad I checked because they had the exact ones in stock that I was looking for and I’d sure as heck rather give my money to TCO than Amazon! As always I found a couple other items when I was there that I hadn’t been looking for :)

Heard about this place from a dear friend of mine, so I decided to check them out today. The interior was great but the staffs were not the friendliest. Not a single person greeted me or cared enough to acknowledge me. I mean sure, maybe they did not see me. But this one male staff walked by me at least 5 times and pretended not to see me every single time. I tried to get some of the staff’s attention but every single one of them ignored me. This is the store for you if you like being intentionally ignored. Great outdoor gear though.

Great local shop for outdoor clothing. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Very good selection, some unique items. Not inexpensive, but a reasonable value if you want help making a selection that meets your needs. If I had shipped during a sale, it probably would have been 5 stars!

This store is huge. They've recently expanded and there are a ton of selections to choose from. I dont think I've ever seen this many types of jackets in one place.Also their customer service is very good. I needed help finding a type of jacket in a specific color and a store worker was running all over this place looking for me. They will also look in the back room for extras and can even ship a jacket to you for really cheap.Amazing store. Definitely a must if you need great outdoor clothes that will last.

Been buying products from these guys for years without a single problem. They actually care about the goods they sell. Not sure about the reviewer below me but "big box" stores don't have any of the clothes these guys stock. I'm going out on a limb and say the one person who gave this company a bad review is very hard to please. Feel free shopping here with confidence. Best brands and their services in store is second to no one. Thanks a ton Trail Creek!

Trail Creek Outfitters has earned my loyalty over the last few years. They have expanded their space and it's packed with adventure clothing and gear. The sales and giveaways are AMAZING. I'm thankful to have this cool store so close to home.

I walked around the store getting the "feel" of my new North Face waterproof no lace womens boots. Found a turquoise mock turtle neck and excellent wool socks. Ready for Canada!!! Cool staff dudes!

So glad to see this place open again...truly missed it. Best selection of clothing and gear I’ve ever seen but the staff is what makes this place my favorite...they’re truly among the nicest people I’ve ever met...always go out of there way for me. I went in yesterday...didn’t need anything...just wanted to buy something to support them...I was greeted by the owner who went out of his way to thank me for coming in. I’ll be back again soon.

Won’t honor Christmas Present return.. can’t believe I was unable to exchange an expensive shirt only a matter of days after Christmas. Reason was the purchaser didn’t have a rewards account!?! Receipt was lost as normally happens with presents and store didn’t allow an exchange and now I’m SOL. Very, very poor experience.

Great selection of outdoor apparel. They carry alot of great brands I can't find anywhere else. We visit the shop in Kennett often but of course they have a smaller selection. They don't always have what i am looking for but the large shop does.

Was looking for a snowboarding jacket. Luckily there was one in consignment that fit me. Was helped by multiple people in the store for this who were so nice and honest.

Not sure this could be considered an outfitter. In my opinion this is more of an outdoor clothing store for yuppies. I asked if there were any packs on sale and the store clerk looked at my like I had two heads. Not an abundance of outdoor gear but if your looking for the latest Patagonia vest and North face pants to wear while out shopping in your Mercedes this is your place. If your looking to gear up for the next 10 day section hike you may want to find an REI.
