The presidents course was in nice shape. Very challenging and tight. Nice design with appropriately placed hazards. Many bunkers had standing water in them. $66 at 240PM this time of year is a little much especially with the pace of play. We weren’t able to get the full round in. There needs to be better managing of the golfers on the course by the marshal.

I've played this course multiple times over the past 4 years and in late March 2024. The staff is friendly and takes pride in the course. However, the value has deteriorated in my opinion. The Presidential course doesn't drain well and it's often cart path only. They'll charge holiday rates even when the course is not fully usable. For example, bunkers not prepped and no rakes, restrooms and snack shop closed at the turn, tee boxes under maintenance without notice, and cart paths are in poor shape. The course is still fun and challenging for a mid-handicap player, but there are better options in the area for a similar or lower price.

Played the presidential course, it was in fantastic shape. A fun 18 to play, course knowledge is a must as your tee shot on the course is more important than most. It's an easy course to walk. It's not a legendary course by any means but definitely one you can play everyday and never get bored due to the many different shots that you have the option to hit. Staff was very helpful and nice

I stopped by for an introductory visit being that will be assigned to that location for future projects. However the weather didn't do this place any justice and I hope that when Spring and Summer roll around I can get a much prettier view of the course and its surroundings.

If I could, I would give this course a minus review. We went today on Monday August 14; 2023.The only good thing I can say about this course was there were hardly any golfers on the course. When we arrived we were greeted by a sign stating cart paths only. When I asked the pro shop if we would get a discount because of this he replied that we would not and that the course is under new ownership. The course was a complete mess, we had to navigate broken tree limbs and leaves everywhere, and the course was so dam wet.And the senior green fees rate was a ridiculous $45.I will never go back to this course again. Go to Lederach and play a very well kept course for $35.

I normally do not like to make negative reviews but after spending 4 hours on the coarse, waiting at every hole and only getting through 12 holes this past Sunday for a 9:25 tee time was an absolute disgrace. I brought up the concern of slow play at the turn and questioned if any rangers were available after the 12th hole and found out they do not have Rangers this year. If you cannot control the pace of play do not take as many tee times.

The ambassador course has potential, but needs a lot of work. Overall the greens rolled fairly true, but poor drainage, infrequent and/or wrong yardage markers, and the general sloppy conditions made this a difficult 18 to enjoy. I would not recommend playing this course the day after rain.

First time playing here and I was very impressed. The course was pretty tight. We played the ambassador course it was definitely good value for the money in my opinion. I would definitely play here again. The only drawback was the lack of direction as to how to get to the next home, it was a little confusing to navigate. Aside from that it was awesome.

Presidential course was great. Unfortunately people were playing multiple balls/shots so my round took over 4 and a half hours and I was playing by myself. So a little more attention to groups would be beneficial.

Course wasn't too bad would give more stars if not for the pro shop employee. Was on a personal call when I arrived and showed no acknowledgement. after he was done the call still no greeting so I started with a "hi how's it going". after I paid walked out to rows of golf carts with no keys and nobody around. got my bag out the car and came back still nobody around. I then noticed a container full of golf cart keys. so I walked back into the pro shop. this time the guy was talking with the female running the snack bar counter. I stood there and this dude again no acknowledgement just finished his whole story. after just stares at me so once again I start the conversation and ask if I just take any cart. he replied with see the starter. I said im sorry what. just repeated himself in a stern tone. I replied with I didn't see anyone out there. so I walked back out just to stand there for 7 minutes until two young employees come walking from around the corner. she apologized and I was on my way. course was okay not it the greatest shape but wasn't terrible. finished my round and pulled up behind a line of carts next to the practice green. the extremely rude guy from the pro shop from earlier in a stern voice tells me the carts go around on the other side. at this point I'm like dude I'm not your employee but instead just said oh okay and whip it over the the other side behind another row of carts. I guess that was wrong too because as I'm gathering my belongings this dude hops into the cart and starts moving it as im still removing my items from the cart. will not recommend visiting this course and will tell others of how rude they treat the clients. suprised this guy even has a job there. especially at the front counter.

Nice course, in good shape. This course, The Ambassador, though not a premiere course, was pleasant, close, challenging enough, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I just hope I play better when I return.

The presidential course was in it's usual fine shape. A nice challenging set up. The employees are always helpful . Just a great place for our 8 players to leave some balls behind. Thanks

Played the presidential course. It's sort of a dog track none of the roughs are mowed at all and the greens have divots everywhere. If they actually put work into this course it could be a great track but $66 is way too much when you can play a pristine course like turtle creek or bellavista 5 mins away. I almost never give courses less than 4 or 5 stars but for the price this course is junk hopefully they clean it up.

Played here many times, most recently on Sunday 5/21. Their power was out due to a car accident, so they wrote down my card info and the fact that I was using the tee time golf pass discount. The next day I saw on my card they had charged me the full price for the foursome. I have called in multiple times and they always say it will be a few more days for the refund to process. It has now been over 2 weeks and I am still waiting for the extra $96 dollar charge to be reversed. Very frustrating experience

Played last Sunday after rain on Saturday. Course was way too wet and squishy with lots of tree branches down. Cart path only made it a long day which was understandable. The price you pay for March golf.

Went on the course’s website and reserved a 735am tee time for our twosome, receiving a confirmation email. When we arrived we were told they moved out time to 755am. When asked why, the pro Steve said “we don’t book twosomes.” When asked why we weren’t contacted, Steve answered “we didn’t have your email “(couldn’t be true since we received an email from them). While on the putting green, I noticed the people who took our 735am slot were two twosomes- meaning we were bumped for no reason at all.Steve explained that he was on tour for 42 years and played in two US Opens, proving that he believes those things give him permission to behave horribly wherever the mood hits him.I have never had a scheduled tee time moved on me, EVER! And I have never expressed my dissatisfaction so intensely with a single word of apology.Since this is how Steve treats customers, I’ll be golfing elsewhere.

Played on a Saturday recently. The course was in great condition when I played. The greens were fast and challenging. Nice staff. Only wished the pace of play was faster. Did not see any cart girls for snacks or drinks.

Shouldn’t be charging $75 for freshly aerated and sanded greens. It should have at least been discussed prior to tee off.

If you're a fan of terribly slow, painful play and no ranger then this course is all for you. Hickory valley has you covered! Look no further for an all out assault on your golfing experience and total loss of an afternoon than right here. The condition is not terrible, but the lack of respect for a decent pace of play is non existing at this course! 3, 4 holes open in front of those groups and no regard for pace of play, no ranger! For a total waste of time and money, Hickory valley has all your needs covered. New ownership take notice, but I guess the overflow from Gilbertsville closing makes your dismal attempt to care moot.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Played the Presidential. $51 for my partner. &40 for seniors. Nice layout but not worth $51. No food or snacks between the ninth and tenth holes. Bring your own food and drinks. For the price, you would think there would be sand in the traps. Not mud and water.

Very well run place. Everyone is super nice. Wasn’t crowded on a Saturday at 10am tee time. Cart person came 4x during our round. Well manicured. Will come back to play the ambassador course.

Early Sunday morning golf pace of play was excellent, conditions were fairly decent fairways and fringe were a little rough but greens were solid. Late summer, and minimal natural rain this year Is a little rough on local courses

Horrible course with terrible staff and greedy management. Highly recommend if you want to get stuck behind big crowds who take multiple shots and take 5 minutes on the Green.

My brother and i tried the course today and were very disappointed. Clumps of sod littered each fairway and the grass just outside the fairways was so high that finding an errant ball is impossible. This could be a very nice golf course if they took better care of it. The only positive thing i can say is the starter was very efficient. We don’t intend to go back there any time soon. There are too many other places that put this place to shame

Hickory Valley is one of those staple community golf clubs that has been around for years and years. Its small stature lends to its overall charm and appeal. Like many of Pennsylvania's courses, this too is tucked away from plain sight, but that quick windy road that leads up to the clubhouse allows the excitement to build before you hit the links.

We played the Ambassador course. It's a shot management style, meaning you need to pay attention to the fairway bends, tree lines and a few creeks. The greens were in very good shape. There was little to no roll on tee and fairway shots due to the amount of water on the course from the amount rain, resulting in higher scores. But we still had a great time. Nice note, the cart lady came around a few times, adding to our wonderful experience.

*Played the Presidential course. A really nice layout, and a fairly tough course. I just played on a day where there was a good amount of rain the previous night and I was pretty impressed with shape of the course. The greens must drain really well because they weren't swampy one bit. All in all a nice public course. Perhaps $5 or $10 over its worth.
