This place is really great. The collection of items is very impressive. These guys have civil war bullets, swords, uniforms, paintings and more. They also have a ton of Confederate bills as well. The people that work there are friendly and knowledgeable.

My first purchase from here was when I was in my teens. I have been purchasing items here ever since and I am 49 now.I can honestly say I have never had a negative experience online, on the phone or in store.with them.I hope to continue purchasing from here for many years to come.

Awesome store! It's like a museum where you can buy the exhibits, so much history in one spot! From original muskets from 1808, to German Stalhelms, and everything in between, you'll find something for every history buff in this down-right amazing place! Will definitely be back!!!

I live in Texas, but I always check there on line store. I have been buying and selling antique Military items with them for over 20+ years. Very pleased with. Thank you and Mary Christmas

I recently purchased an M1 Garand from the Horse Soldier, and they were very helpful in holding my rifle until NYS. finally approved my permit, (4 months), and when I was ready The Horse Soldier was there for me. No fuss and everything went smoothly

Best darn place to buy deal or just to get some knowledge on Civil War militaria. Quality and original militaria found here. I recommend this place whole heartedly.

Waited for them to be open while we were in town. No one asked if they could help us and I was specifically looking for info on the 6th Pa Cavalry because my great great grandfather was with them. Very disappointed.

I was seeking information about two flintlock pistols. He helped me with both information and value. Nice store inside

Just as good as a museum! Was last here 22 years ago when I was 14 and this place stuck on my mind. Recently stopped back and wish I had more time and money to spend here. Definitely worth a stop! Skip some of the same tourist shops and stop here.

Great shop. Went looking for a very specific item and they had just what I wanted. The staff are very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Huge selection of antique firearms, bayonets, and other artifacts. Pretty fair prices on some uncommon finds. History buffs, be prepared to spend some time here, history and story telling abound!

Picked up a WW1 artillery fuse today. Not the first thing I've bought there and surely not the last. I always have a good time and good experience.

Rented the upstairs apartment for our family trip. Very clean, everything you could think of and more. Paper towels, clean linens and towels/washrags. Dish soap, Laundry detergent and fabric softener provided. Washer and dryer included as well. TP well stocked, all dishes, cups, silverware, and cookware supplied. Very clean. Loft upstairs with a pullout and airbed. Kids loved the loft! One queen sized bedroom with closet, other bedroom is 2 twins I believe. "master room" has tv in it. Tv up in loft as well. Totally love it and will be using again!

This was a wonderful and fascinating place to shop. A lot of antiques from the Civil war, including sabers and guns. The staff was very nice. We picked up a couple pieces of bullets, a Confederate hat and a few other things. It is a very interesting place, and I would recommend atleast a look even if you don't want to buy anything.

If you like old guns and weaponry, I can't recommend a better and wider selection in the town of Gettysburg.

Very unprofessional. Made a two hour round trip to see something that was wrongly described. When I arrived they were very pleasant. When I looked at the item it was worthless, rifling was completely pitted!!!!!! A total waste of time. When I brought this to their attention they shrugged their shoulders and said it was on the seller from New York. No sir it is not!!! It’s on you guys to inspect the items you are selling and check the description is accurate. Beware of them.

Absolutely outstanding establishment. I've been to Gettysburg many times but this was my first trip to The Horse Soldier. It will become a must on my trips from now on. Have your money ready because you will find something here for your collection. Nice and friendly staff. Looking forward to next years trip.

This place was AWESOME! My husband is a history buff, especially when it comes to battles, and we both love antiques! There was so much to see!! The staff was friendly and if we are ever in Gettysburg in the future, we will definitely visit them again!

This is one of those places where I make it a point to stop by and go inside whenever I'm in town visiting. I have been here numerous times over the years and I truly enjoy just spending the time looking at all the items they have to offer. I particularly like the section with all the muskets and swords. Always a neat little place to visit. Just make sure you park where you should park while visiting Gettysburg. Parking may sometimes be challenging so plan ahead.

I love antiques and I get taken from time to time. Meaning I pay to much for an item. But I bought 3 items here and got a real bargain on all 3. Choose carefully and you can find great deals here. There are thousands of items so take your time. The staff are SUPER friendly. Absolutely the best store in Gettysburg hands down.

I have always enjoyed shopping there during my Gettysburg visits. Good place for a collector to spend some time in town. Prices are slightly higher than other dealers, however items are usually well vetted and bought with confidence.

They purchased an old musket from us and offered a fair assessment and price. Done all by correspondence. Would love to stop by and meet in person one day.

They have 2 of my all time favorite guns. An m1 garand and a m1 carbine. Lots of guns. Lots of knives and lots of historic items. Pretty cool place

These folks have some really good relics for sale but seriously need to work on their customer service skills. I had 5k in my pocket ready to spend on artillery but the woman that was working the front was not very pleasant to deal with. I had inquired about speaking to the owner in regards to looking for a specific and rare shell but instead of asking him to come speak with me I got the eye roll and she called him on the phone and told him the exact opposite of what I asked her. I bought one shell but would have bought more if things would have worked out different. Attitude is everything, i would give it another chance but if I were to walk in and she is working ill walk back out and go spend my money with the compition down the street again. The compitition got the cash for that day

Just learned they are closed Sunday and Monday, was hoping to shop there when we got in town. My husband will be disappointed! I know shops need their days off too, but people are out on weekends and the 3 day weekend is great for visitors... OH well

This place is more of a museum than a store. I say this because there is so much history and they have a vast assortment of just about everything you can think of related to the Civil War. You can easily spend an hour in this store. Staff is always very friendly. Store is located right on Steinwehr Ave.

Pretty much a very well designed museum with price tags. Massive amount of nearly every category of historic artifacts with major emphasis on Civil War (which is my preference) non intrusive staff, but ready available and knowledgeable if needed

The store has an amazing collection of civil war artifacts (and some other items from different eras). Their prices are reasonable and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely recommend checking this place out!
