We don't have these where we live in North Carolina and it's too bad. It's a large store with a lot of everything. We wanted to pick up some yuengling beer and they had 4 different types in stock. Pretty much the same for other beers as well. Lots of registers open and nice clean aisles.

when it comes to freshness, cleanness, and being friendly, it is great. However, the prices, hmm, I have to drive out to get most of my food too pricey for me.. also, they changed up the store. I'm lost. I have multiple sclerosis, and my brain was on fires. Also, I met other elders who were going through the same feeling of loss . I still love the store..🌹

I've been shopping here for years and was never asked to leave a review, but here goes. It's a nice store, lots of variety, plus a Chinese restaurant, and you can buy beer and wine here. Biggest drawback is not enough cashiers, but that seems to be the norm these days. I hate self-checkout if I have more than a few items, because there's not enough room, so I usually end up waiting in a cashier's line way longer than I used to. Honestly, I don't shop here a whole lot for that reason alone.

I'm in the middle of the Hanover and the Gettysburg store. I prefer the Gettysburg location. Their produce is much better than anywhere in the area, most of the time. And far better than the Hanover store. Most items are in stock and they have a large selection. Although, I would really like to see bulk food items in the bins come back to all of the stores. They are doing improvements and starting to look very nice.

And this is why I always use self checkout so I don’t have to deal with people! Went to check out at giant tonight, as I walked to the cashier, they proceeded to walk away from the register, needed to buy a gift card or I wouldn’t have went to a cashier, the young man who was bagging waited a few seconds for the cashier, who didn’t return and started to try to help me. The head person came running and reprimanded him in front of me that he can’t run the register and then ask me what I wanted, and said he can’t run a register. Well I don’t know that, felt so bad for the young man who was only trying to help me since no one else seemed too, for the cashier to return and was told by the head person “you need to watch your lane.” The cashier looked at me like I did something wrong to which I said you walked away the moment I walked in your line, proceeded to give me the deer in the head lights look and I said at least he tried to help me. Got my receipt and said THANK YOU to the young man that attempted to help me. Never again, self checkout all the time, only person to yell at is myself if it doesn’t go correctly. My heart broke for the poor guy, I know he felt horrible for getting corrected in front of the customer. Supervisor needs some help also, you don’t embarrass an employee in front of a customer!

Will give 4 stars because I genuinely love the place. Went in there recently and a young lady named April said that the light was going off at self check out, which when I looked up, it wasn't. She then proceeded to go through my bags to ensure that I scanned everything in my bag. I was furious behind it but chose to just go to the store manager about it. He's actually a really sweet guy and took care of the situation. Other than that, it's a great store and I enjoy going there

The picture attached speaks for itself. I would say that I am shocked or surprised by this, but this was only one of the many times I have been to the Gettysburg Giant in the last year that I have seen or bought expired food or rotten seafood / produce. I would not bother leaving a review as it normally is a waste of my time, however; given that Giant is one of the only grocery stores that residents of Gettysburg have available to them, something needs to be done about this store’s incompetence.

On Friday night's there is 1 lane open to check out. Ppl are lining up back the aisle. They been moving everything around. Can't find nothing have to go up and down every aisle.

Waited close to 45 minutes for 3 items In the deli. There was maybe 3-4 people in front of me and they all got one item each. I'm not sure what took so long but they seemed to have more conversation then work going on. The line grew but no one seemed to care or to slightly go faster. On top of that ever since i could remember the one kiosk doesnt work properly and the text message your supposed to recieve when your order is done never happens either. I'd go somewhere else but there's not much of an option in gettysburg.

This place can never keep anything in stock. They always have skids in the aisles. In the evening they pile empty boxes up in the organic section, and you can't get to what you need. The bathroom doesn't have paper towels. This is a horrible store. If you want to visit one of the other stores nearby, you'd better park somewhere else because Giant covers the sidewalk with carts. My wife and I had to walk where people drive because of all the carts. The only thing I like about this store is the option to scan your own groceries as you shop, with a portable scanner. Scan all your groceries as you shop, then pay when you're done.

Deli does not have the prices per pound on a lot of the deli meats. Boar's Head Oven Roasted Turkey Breast was $14.49 per pound at the register. So 2.21 pounds was $32.02. I now know why not many people were at the deli counter and shopping in the prepackaged deli style meat section. I know Boar's Head is a premium brand, but WOW. I can't afford to pay these prices, so I won't be doing much shopping there again.

Don't expect customer service at this poorly managed store. While the store is filled with Giant employee shoppers, the customers that actually go to the store to purchase groceries should be prepared for bottom of the barrel service. A few weeks ago, there was a long line at one cashier-staffed checkout with no bagger help. We had a large purchase but that didn't matter. Meanwhile, there were plenty of Giant employees walking around the store. There seems to be a total lack of managerial oversight. This evening was the last straw. I will be shopping elsewhere.

I dread going here but of course Gettysburg has limited options. The produce is always rotten and I've had to get in a habit of cutting everything open before eating even if it looks fine on the outside, it's usually disgusting on the inside. The robot is always in the way and honestly serves no purpose. It's also laid out horribly, produce and refrigerated items should all be in the same general area but here they are on opposite sides of the store. There is no good flow of sections to make shopping a breeze. Also I have no idea who manages the hot bar but it's probably better just not to have one if shoppers can't event tell what the food is supposed to be it's that disgusting looking

I've got to say I'm really annoyed after this experience. I went in for two items. There was no express lane open. There were people checking out large carts in the self-checkout area and one person just standing there being helpful as needed but not letting people know when there were spots free to check out. The self-checkout was very hard to engage the touch screen buttons and kept malfunctioning. I don't come to the store to do the job of the employees. Why don't you hire someone to run the express lane? I won't come here again because I'll go somewhere where actual humans work.

I'm not sure if they recently renovated but none of the aisle signs matched what was in the actual aisles. It took me so much longer to get my shopping done. And ZERO frozen vegetables. ??

Getting worse and worse at this store. It's beautiful, with great selection, but the prices are getting absurd - much higher when compared to neighboring stores. And I'm soooo tired of only one or two checkouts, forcing people to sel-checkout. I won't do it.
