This is the Dollar General I dread going to. The only reason I went in today was to see if they had something all the others were out of. As soon as you get to the door it hits you, the most god awful stench. It was like a cat box that no one scooped or a sewage pit. I guess it does well because of the college being close but I seriously wanted to gag. I’ll stick to the other D.G.s

Wow, what a mess! No bags for groceries, self checkout only, and whomever the older lady there is (I'm assuming the manager) is less than friendly. While we did get our goods, it was painful to do so. I wish we'd have stopped at the FamilyDolar up the road instead.

The store is always a complete mess. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for a while because they were having staffing issues. But it’s ridiculous. They never have anything. It is filthy. It smells bad. I won’t be returning to this store.

PROS: The place was clean and the worker there was very nice.CONS: A lot of the merchandise wasn't restocked and this is NOT a dollar store. Most stuff was way over a dollar. The guy was also slow which caused a line and the place is located far from the center of townOVERALL: I wouldn't come here to get something with the impression that it's a dollar store. You're better off at a cvs

Employees are always nice and friendly willing to help if needed. Clean store but since remodel I absolutely hate the store lay out. unless it's something I always get and know where to find what I need, we literally have to look/ search every aisle to find other things. All the kids toys, tables, or good toys kids would want are all on top shelves with no prices and only cheap junk cheap toys are down in little part of an aisle.

Amber Johnson store manager supposedly called the general manager regarding a return of products purchased at another dollar general. Amber argued and refused to accept the return because they don’t take returns from other stores. She then went to the back to get the 800 and proceeded to play a recording that I should exit the building and stop arguing with employees or else the police would be on the way. We were not rude or irate ! Simply just wanted to return an item that was defective. Truly rude and ghetto behavior. When speaking with general manager on the phone regarding return product the general manager refused to give their name. This whole situation occurred because I wasn’t’ African American . Truly spineless behavior. no need to waste money at an establishment such as this. Unprofessional at the very least . Amber was on the phone when I entered and acted like she was closed when an African American male entered she opened her line and proceeded to ignore me and my return. Amber Johnson was just rude from the start.

It smelled in their like dirty kitty litter, but they had what I needed, and I didn't wait too long in line. The cashier was extremely pleasant. The store could use further updating, however.

They always have what I'm looking for and staff is nice and helpful. I just wish the store didn't look so run down. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 10 years, but I know that's not true because I've seen the staff cleaning and reorganizing the store. I realize it's a older shopping center, but you're representing "Gettysburg" and "Dollar General " IN A TOURIST TOWN. PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY SEE THIS STORE . NOT A GREAT IMPRESSION !!!! OBVIOUSLY, DOLLAR GENERAL DOESN'T CARE !!! This is a busy store. I know DG CAN AFFORD TO RE-DO THIS STORE !!!

This is the first remodeledDollar General in our area!It had been looking pretty shabby, until their new remodel. Now, when you walk in, it definitely feels like competition is revving up against Wal-Mart!Prices are like every otherDollar General, the inventory is fairly good, they are still adding items every week.

Recently remodeled in 2018. What you would expect from a Dollar General. Seems clean, and well organized. Staff is very limited, but that is with any store of this chain. Can get busy at times, and parking can sometimes be difficult. Located in a shopping center.

This particular store is always a pain. They are constantly going through staff and it shows. There are always new people who don't know how to use the register and then they must quit before they figure it out and move on to the next person. The store is dirty and disorganized. Half of the time, their store is only accepted cash and the other half of the time, they don't have enough cash in the drawer to even break a twenty. We have basically just given up trying to go here and drive a little further out of town to go to any of store than this.

Dollar General is a nice store, But.... Then again not really. They have snacks, cosmetics, pet food, home (decorations and lights and more..), seasonal decorations, candy, personal products, makeup, clothes, cards (birthday, get well, thank you, and also holidays.. They also sell gift cards), health, and more.. But whenever you walk into to store it looks decent but cluttered and if you go near the back, There is usually clothes, glitter, or something else like pillows on the floor😫

Used to shop here frequently however I will no longer support this place. The cashier was rude and also staff takes clearance items and places them in the back so they can buy them later on, which Dollar General does not allow. Save yourself and go to another DG where the employees are nice and don't try to cheat customers.

Before this place was remodeled it was very outdated and I was pleasantly surprised to see the new setup once it was redone. I only stopped in to grab small things here and there because I live in the neighborhood but, I'm sure people go there to shop for things that I don't pick up. The staff is a mixture of friendly and reserved characters.

The new renovations at DG make it a nicer shopping experience, especially for quick drop-ins. Items are easier to find with more room to navigate through aisles. An automatic door would be nice upgrade for those who need that accommodation and even for those trying to manuever a shopping cart through the door.

This Dollar General has been in downtown Gettysburg since my elementary school days (20 some odd years) so naturally it has begun to slightly show it's age, but it has been taken care of over the years. Sometimes the store is slightly disorganized, mainly due to heavy customer traffic and shortage of employees, however, the employees are great at their job. Always willing to assist you, and very rarely do you find yourself waiting in a line. If there is an item I know I can find at the Dollar General, I am quick to choose it over Wal-Mart's prices and hustle and bustle any day.

getting better. this DG was the dumpiest DG in adams county a few months back (even worse than the one by weis market in york) the look and feel has changed signifigantly since the remodel this summer. will stop in more often

When they run out of a item..one would think they will have more when there truck arrives..well not this store sometimes u wait up to a month...took them 3 weeks to put sugar back on the shelf..it's not the managers fault..they don't do inventory..it's head quarters that do..they go by what the store sells by the registers..it's programed to head quarters...

Not neat or orderly but cluttered and aisles are tight and the parking lot is not only difficult to navigate but inattentive drivers will hit you if you are not watching them carefully as I've nearly had an auto accident at the shopping center there on a few occasions.

The corporate chain has my loyalty but this location is a disaster. Staff is rude, store is dirty and recent renovation is a joke.
