Used their neuter clinic for two cats. You fill in a form when you reserve your appointment so they already have details when you arrive for dropoff. You say when they last ate and if they've had any medications in the past 24hrs. That's it! Drop off at i, pick up at 11 with detailed aftercare instructions. The boys were fine and ready to play that evening.Thank you, Adams County SPCA, for all the good work you do.

Oh my goodness, congratulations! What an achievement! For the first time since 1973, your shelter has no dogs! What ever you did, please share with other animal shelters. This just brought so much joy to myself. A job exceptionally well done. I’m so glad these loving dogs found I’m hoping loving homes and a very happy ending for both. YAY!

Spot on, ACSPCA takes great care of the animals in their care and ensure that animals are not put up for adoption until they are ready. Great place great staff!! We have adopted 3 dogs from ACSPCA and all three are outstanding pets and members of our family.

This place is wonderful. I picked up my dog that ran away. The staff was very kind and helpful. You can really tell they care about animals. It was very clean and a safe environment.

After a short telephone interaction with a staff member, while I was attempting to support and donate my personal time I was met with a very defensive and rude interaction. Absolutely uncalled for to have such an interaction with the public trying to assist. I whole heartedly encourage all members of the public to visit the York County SPCA.

Ver nicely run animal shelter- rescue in Adams County. Very friendly staff. Good care, nice rural setting, I like that it really has to be a place you are intentionally trying to get to- off the beaten path, nice barn area for larger animals.

I wish I knew who i just got off the phone with on February 22, 2024 at 1pm but of course I could tell it was a typical old aged boomer with no compassion. Horrible, horrible customer service with an attitude. All i was asking for was the documentation for my cats vaccinations and neutering proof. Didn’t know that was such a big deal or problem to ask for that?????? Super weird, and am not happy about it. Put your bad days on your cheating husband, not a happy customer.

These people care very much about the animals in their care. We initially went here after putting in an application and being approved for the adoption of a two year old female dog. After giving this dog and our current make some time to interact with each other and us it became apparent this wouldn't be a good fit. We looked at several other dogs and found one that was a good match all around. The staff was patient and cared about our needs and that of our existing dog as well as all the animals in their care. All the animals we met had great temperaments, were clean and healthy. The kennels and meeting areas as well as the grounds and runs. We're very grateful for everything the staff at ACSPCA did for us and can't recommend them enough.

They say low cost but most clinics do these basic services for 5-20 less. Example Gettysburg animal hospital charges 70 for a male cat. My dog was 100.Not sure what low cost means here

I highly recommend adopting here! Everyone was very nice and answered all questions. Process was very smooth they made the paperwork a breeze! They got back to my messages really quick too. Prices are very reasonable and they take great care of the animals. Place was very clean and friendly. On top of all of that they sent us home with food, toys and a bed! I cannot recommend them enough! We are so thankful to have been able to adopt Pippi here from Adams County SPCA.😀

We had a kitten living under our house. She was scared but super sweet once she was brave enough to come out. I could hold her and pet her. It was going to be really cold so we decided to take her in to get her a home. She rode in the car in the cat carrier fine. They took her back only to say she wasn't friendly at all and they'd have to put her down. She was scared and scratched the lady when she put her hands in the carrier. I was not happy with that answer and brought her back home. We tried finding her a home with friends only to decide to keep her. We took her to the vet where she didn't once claw, hiss, or bite. She was wonderful. She loves all the petting she can get, rubs up against you, and just purrs away. The vets office couldn't believe that the spca said they'd put her down. Maybe they should take more then 2 minutes to evaluate a cat or dog and let them calm down 1st. Look at these pics...not friendly at all smh.

I will come back for sure to adopt a dog again me and my family recently adopted a dog name caster aka Gable. Such a wonderful addition to the family he goes everywhere with us. Adam spca staff are wonderful. They got back to us right away and was super helpful. If I can give them 10 star ⭐️ I would. Thank you so much.

We need a human officer in adams county , that is knowledgeable about houses as well as dogs and cats. We used to have one, what happened we seem to be going backwards.

The Staff had me pre-approved to adopt but were careful that I didn't get a dog that may have been a problem for a Senior and Senior dog. They really know the animals at their shelter. And checked with our Vet while pre approving. Their adoption rates are very fair.

I really enjoyed my experience here when I adopted my pet through them. Unfortunately, I was not greeted with the same kindness when I had taken a client there for some one on one time with dogs/cats. They seemed annoyed and like we weren't important because we were not there to adopt an animal. I am truly disappointed in the staffs behavior. Also disappointed in one of the staff members that did not look like she worked there. Her hair was very unkempt and she seems to treat the building more like a sleepover at her friends house. I had lived in gburg for years and had actually volunteered at the adams county spca about 15-20 years ago. If this is how I get treated at the spca, especially one I had volunteered at, I don't think I want to give any of my business to them anymore. Also when I adopted my pet, they had no knowledge about reptiles and so I had to change my pets diet because they let crickets in the tank and didn't remove them. He is scared of crickets (thankfully, there are other options) maybe educate staff about all pet care including exotic animals please.

Nice people. They took care of our indoor / outdoor cats very well while they were getting spayed and neutered. Something I wished they would have had on their website was the information for the extra fees for common things like pregnancy, lactation, flea treatment, etc. We found out that if a cat is pregnant it is an extra $30 and flea treatment is $20. These prices are fantastic especially for people who are trying to keep the cat population under control!

They've cleaned this place up quite a bit. However, there should be more pictures of adoptable pets. There are never but a couple dogs, and never any cats. That is how you get people through the door...cute pictures! The older lady at the front desk(Tonya I think) is incredibly RUDE, as well. I feel they are too quick to deem animals "unadoptable" and therefor worthy of death. I feel sad for those that were euthanized for just being confused and scared.

I had a dog that passed away from cancer my vet told me when I got another male dog not to get him fixed because males get prostate cancer. My new male was an Emotional Support dog so I decided to not get him fixed. My Esd passed away 2/2023 from old age had him for 13years. So I am looking for another dog. Adam's SPCA denied me because I didnt get my ESD fixed.
