Highly recommend! We drove over an hour to board our dogs at Golden Wood based on the recommendation of our trainer. One of our dogs has some pretty severe anxiety, and their smaller facility with fully enclosed "stalls" made for a more relaxing environment than a typical boarding facility. The staff was extremely kind to us and was understanding and accommodating with all of Rigby's special quirks. Our anxious girl seemed to warm up to the staff quickly and we received updates every day! I've spent hours researching and worrying about the best solution for leaving our dogs when we're away, and am so grateful to GW for finally giving me some peace of mind.

I have had a very positive experience leaving my pets at the Goldenwood Georgetown location. I have two dogs - one of whom has exhibited dog aggression in the past. It is nice knowing that they can stay in a private room together and be kept separate from other dogs for their outdoors time. I've used them twice now (once for a weekend and once for 10 days) and both times my dogs seemed perfectly fine. In fact, I think they really enjoyed getting spoiled over there with all the treats and stuff you can add on. Just wish it was closer to Pittsburgh!

Updated review. The owners have changed as well as some of their policies and operating procedures. Which the new Owners have every right to do. Unfortunately the changes just didn’t work for us. Sad that things changed so drastically. This is one persons review other still may enjoy taking their dog there.Original post:We have used this kennel 3 or 4 times now and it has been wonderful! Chris, Ann and Carolyn are awesome! Our dog seems excited to get there, be there and the people taking care of him love him like we love him. Considering we drive over an hour to bring him here tells you that this place is totally worth it. Our Bo is a good dog and social. They match him perfectly to the dogs that they totally enjoy each other the whole time. He comes home happy. I think he is a little out of sorts in that he likes being there so much he doesn't know what to do with himself when he is home. That to me is a sign he is happy there.

I have taken my dogs here for quite some time. My current dog just stayed this past weekend and they always do a great job taking care of him! He received some extra cuddles and grooming while he was there. My daughter and I love getting pictures of him and updates from his stay! The new owners are just as amazing as the previous owners and I look forward to continuing to bring my pets here!

My experience here at Golden Wood Pet resort was extremely positive.I was looking for a place to have my dog groomed and also a place for her to stay in the future when we go on vacation. The fact that you can do both at the same place is wonderful.Setting up a grooming appointment was easy, they provided a confirmation text and phone call 2 days before as a reminder. I met with Denise, the dog groomer she was excited to meet Ruby. We talked in detail about what services were available and what my expectations were.Denise did a Fantastic job!!! I was so pleased with how she looked.I definitely recommend this place, I have been back 3 times now and wanted to share my experience with others.

Very pleased with the care our dogs received, however we were upset we had to pay the fee for baths per the company policy which we opted out of since we live on a farm. Besides the extra $70 fee, Goldenwood Georgetown is recommended.

This is the second summer that our dog Pluto vacationed at Paws Here Awhile while the rest of the family was on vacation. He really seems to enjoy his time on "his vacation." Both years he made new friends and from the pictures the staff sent us, you can tell he is having a blast! Take a look at the picture below. Pluto is having a great time playing tag with a new buddy. We love our dog and worried about putting him in a kennel while we were away. But I can tell you this is definitely a resort and not a kennel. He gets his own room with a bed and T.V. and his own private little patio to do his business whenever the urge strikes. The staff are very kind and you feel very comfortable leaving your best friend in their care. I highly recommend Paws Here Awhile Pet Resort as the place for your best friends vacation while you are on vacation.

Our dog Lizzy stayed at Golden Woods for 3 weeks and we couldn't be happier with her time there. Initially we were worried how she would react since she was a rescue we only had for 5 months. She had no problems and took to the staff and other dogs there very well. From the pictures I requested we could see she immediately was happy and at ease. She enjoyed running in the huge fenced & treed area. Also - for reasonable fees I got extra run/cuddle time & treats that are available. We will be bringing her back for our next vacation!

Our pups, Chief and Lucie, LOVE it here!!!! Although not often that our dogs do not get to travel with us, but when they can't, this is home away from home for them. I feel so comfortable knowing that Chief gets adequate time outside, and Lucie her snuggles. Both of our fur babies have no trouble eating here either, as it's just like home - scrambled eggs in the AM and PB toast snack in the afternoon! I cannot begin to say how important it is to my vacation knowing that my fur babies are well taken care of! I would recommend this resort 10 out of 10 times!

Our two Goldens stayed for a week and every day we would get pictures of them running, playing and splashing around in the pool. As everyone know sour pets are family and knowing that they were safe and having a great time meant the world to us. Thanks to the wonderful owners and assistants that made that possible. We highly recommend this pet resort!

Booked this location by accident but it was a happy accident lol (we previously booked Kota at the Aliquippa location earlier in the summer). We made a very last minute reservation (the night before our trip) and they were able to accommodate us very quickly. Our dog Kota enjoyed his stay and was happy to go and happy to leave. They even gave him a bath and trimmed his nails too! Great service all the way.

Jaimi who grooms my mastiff is fantastic. She takes great care in providing specialized care in her grooming, thorough and kind, he looks great after every grooming. Excellent care and service. I take my mastiff for routine grooming about twice monthly and boarding 1-2 monthly. I have utilized both the Georgetown and Aliquippa locations.

My 130lb German Shepherd loves it here! The staff is always very nice and accommodating. The facility is clean and doesn't smell like urine or feces. He comes home & sleeps for days from having so much fun!

Jaimi did a great job in trimming my bunny's (mini rex) nails! Remi is such a sweetie but a devil when it comes to me trimming them. Jaimi was super patient with her and got all her nails trimmed nice and short! I will definitely be bringing Remi back again! Thank you so much. I highly recommend :)

Great facility, great staff! We love to travel, and have 2 golden retrievers that we love just as much. It's always hard to leave them behind, but ever since they started staying at Paws Here Awhile, we've felt more comfortable leaving knowing they were in good hands. The Pet Resort is a little more expensive than some other traditional kennels in the area - but it's SO worth it when you see their wonderful facility and the way that the trained staff treats your pets. This is definitely NOT a traditional kennel! We highly recommend Paws Here Awhile!

Clean and safe facilities with a lovely staff! I adopted my dog through them in January of 2020. And in December of 2020 she went back to stay over the the holidays. She had a great time and I didn't worry about her at all, which allowed me to have a great holiday. She will definitely be back to visit. I also love being able to pick her up fully groomed.

Golden Woods Pet Resort Georgetown PAWe boarded our cat Maddie here for 7 nights very recently and were not disappointed. The room was clean with a TV and fenced in area to sit outside safely. We did get updates and photos showing she was comfortable and given attention. This was/is our choice to board our Maddie with trust she will be cared for. We reside 3 hours away! I love Paws Here Awhile. They loves our pets like they are there own. My dogs and I just love our groomer Sam!!!! She is awesome. I love the beautiful Christmas gifts I got from her. We put our two dogs in a kennel for the first time. They stayed for 11 days. We emailed them twice while the dogs were there. They were very responsive and put our minds at ease. Very happy with the experience.

I can’t say enough good things about this Pet resort!!! It’s clean, friendly and my fur kids love it!!! The private rooms and patios for them are so adorable and comfy! My dogs come home as happy as they are when they go to stay at Paws Here Awhile!!! I can’t thank them enough for all they do to make my fur babies happy while we travel!! I boarded my cat "Max" at Paws Here Awhile Pet Resort for the first time in June of this year. Loved the beautiful room he was staying in. It has an outdoor fenced in area, which Max loved. The staff is just wonderful, so I was at ease leaving him at the facility. I knew they would take good care of him. I was joking with my friends, "I hope Max will want to come back home with me, when I am ready to pick him up." Well, lucky for me, he wanted to come back home. I highly recommend this place and I will board Max again at this facility soon!!!

This is the only place our dog stays! We adopted him as a puppy from the Paws Here Awhile Pet Resort too. We won’t take him anywhere else. The staff is very kind. The facility is very clean, and I feel at ease that our dog is well taken care of while he is way from home. It is his home away from home.

Had a negative experience with grooming. They cut my dog when grooming him and did not tell us. We found him bleeding a few days later and had to get prescription antibiotic wipes. When my wife confronted the owner he was anything but apologetic and did not offer any actions to correct the situation. We wish we could continue taking our dog here since family dogs have been coming for years but this situation has left us looking elsewhere.

Our three dogs have been enjoying their vacations for over 10 years at Paws Here Awhile Pet Resort. They get so excited when they realize they are going on vacation. One of our dogs' is blind and the owner and staff take wonderful care of her providing appropriate enrichment and medical care. Paws Here Awhile Pet Resort truly understand dogs and their needs and my dogs are very happy there. I enjoy my vacations so much more knowing my dogs are in such good hands. Highly recommended.

My wife and I live on a farm and we have 2 - 6 year old Shih Tzu’s. They are farm dogs, never leashed or collared, really never around any people, other than family.We met with Chris, one of the owners, a few days before our departure and he made us feel comfortable with leaving our dogs at his resort. We could sense his love for his profession and all his boarded pets.When we returned from our trip, Chris told us how he worked with Tosca and Bella to get them acclimated to the resort. Our pets had never spent a night away from home. Tosca was petrified they first few days. Chris spent extra time in the evenings with both our dogs getting them used to their surroundings.We will definitely use this resort again.Thanks Chis and Ann for taking such excellent care of our puppies ❤️❤️❤️

My Dusty is a reactive Dog and the Staff at Paws has been so amazing with him! I never worry that he will be ok. He is also groomed beautifully when he is picked up! My other dogs have stayed at Paws, too, what an AWESOME place for pets! Great Staff, with Sue, Sue 2, Carolyn and Sam!
