We went here for a semi-private puppy pool party and couldn't have asked for a better experience! Gretchen and all of the staff are so kind and helpful. They made sure we had everything ready to go so the day of the event went smoothly. It was gross weather and the people who booked after us cancelled, so they let us stay an extra hour for free! Very lovely people and awesome facility!

We have been using Lucky Paws for over 12 years (2 different dogs) for boarding, grooming and daycare and I cannot speak highly enough about them in all three areas. The staff and facilities are unparalleled. I am super picky with the places I use when it comes to my dog. He is a part of our family after-all! Unlike dog daycares that just pen your dog in a small gravel-bottomed exposure, Lucky Paws has beautiful, clean and and large indoor and outdoor play yards (with grass!) that also includes a huge swimming pool! (Huge bonus in the summer.) The day care is very well staffed and they actually play with your dogs. Animals coming into their daycare are well vetted which gives me peace of mind that my dog will always be safe and surrounded by healthy and happy dogs. I love the groomers, especially Michelle. She is so good with my dog and does a great job with his haircuts. She is one of the nicest people and my little mini doodle loves her! As for boarding, it is the only place I will consider. Beyond being clean and well maintained they offer a lot of a la carte options that let you customize your pet's stay. I love this flexibility. The staff are all great and you can tell that they all put the animals first. Love, love, love this place! I cannot recommend it enough.

10 out of 10 LOVED this place and my dogs loved it as well!! We went for play time outside in the pool and my dogs had a blast. They check vet records so you know your dog is safe around the other dogs and have a complete enclosed play area. It's only $10 a dog for the whole day!

My dog, Mason absolutely loves attending Day Care at Lucky Paws! He really enjoys swimming in the summer months. They treat him will and go above and beyond to assure his visit is always positive. Mason and I highly recommend!

Have used Lucky Paws for boarding, daycare and training. It is spacious, very clean and well staffed with outstanding employees! Their strict vaccine/fecal policy is greatly appreciated to keep all dogs safe. And the daycare policy of carefully vetting each dog before they are accepted gives me peace of mind. My black lab, Skylar, loves visiting! Have to give a shout out to Kirsten, the hotel manager for her skill and attentiveness to each dog and the Lucky Paws owner, Gretchen, for running such an outstanding pet care facility! When she became the owner in 2014, she said in an interview that the dogs come first. Rest assured, she walks the walk.

I took my nervous dog with severe separation anxiety to lucky paws for daycare as I am no longer a remote worker and am required to be in office 3 days a week. Staff was so friendly and helpful on the phone. Very nice people. Also they were so sweet to my boy Manny. Everyone loved him there and I can tell they genuinely enjoy being around the dogs in their care. I can’t wait for manny to have a fun place to go to socialize and play. Other daycares in this area are just a small dark concrete room and a vey tiny area of fake grass. Lucky paws has a beautiful facility and outdoor park with acres of land. I can’t wait for the summer months so Manny can play in the pool. It looks amazing!! They get 5 stars from me, only downside is I do wish they had cameras but I believe the reason they don’t is because like I said they have acres of land with nowhere to really put cameras so it makes complete sense. I would say they are the best in the area. Trust me when I say I have done so much research on daycares and have already tried a couple. Where I send my dog is of utmost importance. My dog is my life and my light and he is what keeps me going. I feel at peace sending him to lucky paws and I know he will have fun and socialize. Thank you lucky paws for making me feel at peace while being away from my dog. I will be a repeat customer that sends my dog 3 days a week. I also would love to try some of their trainings and agility classes.

I really can't say enough great things about Lucky Paws. My wife and I adopted our dog, Dante, as we first moved to the area. We happened to live only a mile down the road, so trying it out was logical. Boy am I glad we did! They literally have it all - HUGE outside area with a seasonal incline pool, a separated astro turf section for when the weather is nice, but the outdoor area is muddy/closed for the winter, and even a huge indoor area for when it's just too damn cold outside! Wait though, there's more! They even have a groomer, boarding, training sessions, you name it! I think the greatest thing they had though, which wouldn't be normally mentioned, is a great community. You see the same people throughout the year and the same dogs. Dante had his own wolf pack to roll with every time we were there and the company shared amongst the humans was great! Luxury like this costs something, but I found the $175 price tag for the year to be more than reasonable. You get what you pay for! It took us moving to Virginia to finally realize how good we had it at Lucky Paws, which is what finally prompted me to sing their praise in this review. So with that said...Gracie, Inca, Remi, Rugby, Meg, Saida, Sophie, and whoever else I may have missed. Dante misses you guys!

Love talking our husky malamute mix here for the pool in summer. One a kind place! The pool is pretty big and the park even larger. Always seems to be a healthy load of tennis balls floating in the pool too.

Gretchen and her staff at Lucky Paws are absolutely the best! We have a dog that has anxiety issues and they go way out of their way for her to allow her to have a happy carefree experience .Highly recommend Lucky Paws to everyone.

These bad pugs love doggie daycare and staying at the pet hotel when their humans are busy! They start howling with delight when we come up the driveway. After a day of play at Doggie daycare, they come home happy and exhausted :)

I can only speak for the pool in public dog park, and it turned out to be great. I was able to do everything online for the submission of my dogs records along with my request for the date and time. They were very responsive online. And everything was pretty seamless once I arrived. The grounds also looked pretty well-kept. This was a nice stop over from our long road trip. I think it’s a great place for pups who like to swim and run around in the grass.

I have boarded my dog and had her groomed for 8 years at Lucky Paws. I wouldn’t take her anywhere else. Michele does an excellent job grooming and it is evident she cares for the dogs. The boarding staff (Kirsten and staff) couldn’t do more to make my dog comfortable and to make me feel at ease when she is there. They care for her as if she were their dog. They know her quirks and make sure she feels at home during her stay. Again, I wouldn’t take my little gal anywhere else. Congratulations on a talented, caring staff. Linda

I left this 5 Star review a few years ago. I've been going to them consistently ever since I moved here in 2018. Let me tell you why:My dog(Pomeranian Mix) is 14 and has been through a LIFE! I'm super protective of my little guy and was nervous when I realized I was going to have to board him for the first time ever in 2018. I searched and found Lucky Paws and it's been a love love love relationship ever since.My dog is a very picky eater and has been known to go on a hunger strike. The staff at LP are very upfront and transparent about everything that happens and everything he eats and does while he's there. I will get pictures and video of his day and they will call and give me updates. I know that Gretchen has nothing but love in her heart for all animals and her staff are right there next to her. There is no one else I would trust with my sweet old man. I will always recommend them.

I bring my lab, Denver, and he has a grand time! I like that they are careful about being sure all dogs have their shots and are well mannered. I’ve met many great pups and their owners. The pool is perfect for the dogs and they have a blast and allPlay together. We like the agility posts too! Denver can do them all!

I picked my dog up today after a week of boarding. At pick up the told me my dog had an eye irritation maybe an allergy that they noticed just that morning. Note it was only 8:30 am. I took her to the vet four hours later and she had abrasions across her cornea which I was told is more serious the longer it is left untreated. The vet thought maybe dust or dirt in her eye. I wonder how long her eye had been scratched and after reading the other reviews don’t trust that it happened this morning. A pet owner should be notified immediately when something happens. We have started treatment but I don’t know yet if her eye will be okay. Beautiful facility but poor staff decision making and lack of transparency.

Let me just say: I’ve never had a need for doggy daycare or boarding – until my rescue German Shepherd came along, who happens to have separation anxiety.It was difficult to find a facility that had knowledgeable staff. Phone call after phone call was made and even tried a few daycare’s. It seemed impossible to find a facility that understands dog behavior.Finally – Lucky Paws Pet Resort. We began daycare. The staff picked up on Maverick being overwhelmed by all the dogs. Gretchen was made aware of our situation and reached out. We decided to try “day boarding” (who knew there was such a thing).Mav was introduced to a few dogs at a time, in a controlled environment and on leashes.Wow – what a difference it has made in his quality of life. He’s such a happy dog now.He gets to see his human and doggy friends when he goes to “playcare”Thank you ALL for making us feel so welcomed!

I had a great overall experience there yesterday with my dog Franklin. He loved the agility setup indoors, the adjoining outdoor space with a fun cave like underground tunnel and pretty much everything about the space. This was our first experience with an indoor dog play area which can be rented by the hour for private play sessions and we loved it. After a week of yucky weather and being cooped up it was worth the drive to give him a good play session.The owner is professional and promptly returned my call and provided the space on short notice. It was immaculately clean. The screening process did require a recent fecal exam which I don't recall being required at other doggie day care/boarding facilities, but I like the extra measure of safety this provides. I was unable to bring my other dog because I haven't had to do a fecal exam on her recently but I understand and appreciate the policy. Just letting any future guests know to make sure to have that.The only thing I might recommend is putting a softer astroturf type surface in part of the indoor play area. My dog struggled a little getting used to the hard floor surface, but adjusted rather quickly and it wasn't a big issue.I can't vouch for the boarding and day care but would consider using them. It seems like they take a more individualized approach than other facilities which would be a real bonus when boarding.I look forward to using the outdoor dog pool and play area in warmer weather.

I had to board my shy cat for 12 days and was worried about how he would respond. He refused to eat so Kirsten and team went way above and beyond to get him to eat. They went to the store to try new foods, tried placing the food in different areas, tried mixing dry food with water, and built him a blanket fort to hide in. Kirsten kept me updated and asked for feeding suggestions. I appreciated all of the updates and everything they did to make him comfortable during his long stay. They also have the best cat facility and the most caring staff! I also loved that they are in the building with grooming services so there is typically less noise than other boarding facilities that keep dogs and cats in the same building.

The pets who get to come to Lucky Paws really are lucky! The owners and staff are friendly and professional and the facility is beautiful and clean. Our dog has stayed there several times and we've also used their grooming services. We've very happy that when we bring her home she hasn't picked up any bad habits from other dogs (that's happened at other boarding places) and she's very relaxed after having a lot of fun there! The cat area is also really cool! We recommend Lucky Paws to our friends all the time. It's a great place to take your furry best friend!

Our energetic one-year old puppy absolutely loves the wonderful dog park at Lucky Paws! While she spends a good deal of time in the well-maintained, expansive pool, she also adores the lovely grassy area, complete with plenty of fun equipment (agility and other). She has made so many great canine friends this summer, and we have enjoyed the company of their devoted owners. The staff is terrific – so friendly and helpful!

I actually love Lucky Paws. The staff is all delightful to work with, very helpful, and I really trust that my dog will be safe there. While I never want to leave my dog anywhere, I've personally visited more than 10 nearby kennels, and I do think Lucky Paws is the best of them.My two less-than-great experiences were:1. My dog was fully vaccinated, but she came home from the kennel with Kennel Cough. There's no 100% guaranteed vaccine against this, and I really can't blame Lucky Paws for this. But it's difficult to disassociate this negative experience.2. Two times I've had my rough collie groomed there at the end of boarding so she returns home clean, and the result was frankly terrible. I mean, she was clean and stuff, but the hair trimming looked shockingly bad. The first time (over a year ago), my dog's "pants" were butchered. This most recent time her belly was completely shaved and long straggly pieces were left. She looked like she had the mange or some disease. Both times I had to take her elsewhere to get the grooming fixed. Admittedly, collies may not be the easiest dogs to groom, but I'm now not sure what to do: One one hand I don't want her groomed there anymore, but on the other hand I want her clean when she comes home. It makes me want to find somewhere else to board my dog so she can come home groomed nicely.Let me re-iterate that the people and facilities at Lucky Paws are great, and I greatly appreciate their attention to the most important job of keeping my dog safe. So, big thanks for that.

We send our two dogs Chevy & Finley to daycare. The staff is exceptional, especially Caleb. We can tell how much they care about our dogs! Our dogs run to the car anytime we say “daycare”. They are so excited to go and come back exhausted. Cannot recommend Lucky Paws enough!!!!

First let me say, that we love this place and so does our dog Fiona! The activities are awesome, the pool is awesome and so is the grooming. I had a very bad experience the other day when I called to date a grooming for our dog. The person who answered the phone was so rude and curt I was speechless! First she rudely told me my dogs vaccines were outdated and I tried to tell her (she kept talking over me) that her yearly date isn't until the 15th and the vet wouldn't take us until then. I agree - no problem - I'll wait until she is up to date. Then she said 'you owe $25 because you missed 2 appointments'! I was stunned. I am a very date book oriented person. I always have been. I look forward to her grooming appointments. I am a much more responsible person! I told her that it was impossible and before I could say anymore, she said, you'll have to talk to the mgr. I was so offended at her tone and felt as if I was being scolded!!! First, if I missed the first appointments, when I called for the second appointment, why wasn't I told about missing the first!!!!!?? I remember cancelling our last appointment so there has to be some mix up or confusion. It seems there are many people who complain about the rudeness of this place. In my experience, I've never felt that. Everyone has always been so nice and welcoming. They do 'push' the day care, but we have no need for it. As I said, I'm a very responsible person, always had the needed paperwork etc that they've asked for. I LIVE by my datebook so there's no way possible I missed TWO appointments and I so always looked forward to her grooming appointments. This is just so sad.

Best place for dogs. Both the indoor and outdoor dog park are great, my dog loves them. She won't leave when we are at either! The place is squeaky clean. I have boarded there several times and everything has gone well. The boarding and grooming are a little pricey for me especially if you add cuddle and play time. But, most kennels in the area are comparable. I am getting ready to start obedience here in a few weeks. I have a 74 pound pit/mix. They welcome all breeds

I took my 4 year old “attached “ Golden Retriever for his First over night stay anywhere at the Pet Hotel and Spa but 9 nights and 10 days . I was so nervous needless to say. The entire staff kept in touch with me keeping me informed of how he was doing . When he got home I can only say he looked great . He was Happy, healthy , and he was in a safe and very comfortable environment like home . I am very happy I chose them to care for my dog while I was gone . We have used daycare, salon, and the pool many times and all the services I can say have been great . Thank you to the entire staff for taking care of him while I was gone .
