Had a Henry Rifle fail on me less than a year of ownership right before deer season. Lisa, the manager worked with me and the supplier instead not having a rifle for the coming season was able to swap a gun on the floor so I was able to have something to use. Very courteous and appreciated!

Stopped here to kill some time while passing through town. Wow! It just keeps going. It doesn't look like much from outside but it's a first class outdoor store inside. It's worth your time.

Staff member was so rude I was appalled. A man was in front of me in line with 2 young boys and woman at register rudely asked him when he was third in line “what do YOU want ?” Like she was annoyed or knew him negatively although the man seemed so shocked that he was being spoken to in that manner The man indicated he was there for a fishing license, he had no merchandise in his hands. Her sarcastic response “well…. you’re going to have to wait, it’s going to be a while “ such a nasty tone, I was felt bad for the man that his apparent grandkids witnessed this.I promptly put the items (over $300 worth) back and walked out. I will shop elsewhere regardless of the drive .

I have a camp in the area. I bring my friends here all the time to look around and imagine what we all want but are too broke to buy. The store has everything you need and then some. The guns are amazing, although I don't need another one ;) The Zombie Apocalypse would be quashed here and couldn't stand a chance!! All jokes aside, the store has all your hunting, fishing, bait and feed needs, as well as some good munchies.YEEHAW!!!!

Came to look at guns for Christmas. The staff up stairs was awful. Too busy chit chatting with each other to acknowledge us. Walked passed them numerous times all be ignored. Even stood at the counter waiting and they wouldn’t even get off their butts to offer to let us look at any guns. We’ve business here for years but can’t say that I’ll be back after than experience.

Huge variety of hunting equipment and fishing supplies. Guns, ammo, reloading, archery, fishing and more all in one location. It also has a large amount of feed for your animals. Did I tell you about the great selection of knives on hand too! I stop at this place every time I go by and there are so many things I want there! Plan on spending sometime here to see both floors. Great place and highly recommended.

Selection was good, prices were average, customer service was atrocious. I was buying my gun and my background check came back he wrote the number down and then went to help another customer instead of ringing me up and sending me on my way. 15 mins later he comes back to look at the gun to get the box from the back. He again, waits on another customer. Another 15 mins later he goes into the back and comes out 20 mins later with the box. Almost an hour wait for something that should have taken 10 mins at most. It was not a busy day there.

This place is absolute garbage. The employees treated me like I was beneath them, and as if they truly did not want my business. I don't usually write reviews, about anything really, but I have not been so offended by what should have been a simple retail experience, in my life.Besides the enduring some of the rudest and worst customer service ever, this place has a terrible selection, and ridiculous prices. I would highly recommend anyone who's thinking about going to this store, to think twice. There are many other establishments in the venango area and surrounding towns that provide every product and service that this place does, and I'm willing to bet you won't leave those other places steaming mad.Seriously Mauers, get it together.

Don't shop here.I try to buy local but sometimes local stores are local for a reason: the stock is overpriced, the customer service is comically bad, and the management is downright disdainful of it's customers. Great value tends to expand, and Maurer's can't match the value of bigger chains.If you can purchase your product anywhere else, I would recommend it, even if the item is small and inexpensive. Call it headache management. And if you are making a large purchase in which you need any help deciding what product is best for you, it is worth the trip to a more established store. This place is clearly not interested in hiring employees with the kind of expertise to help customers.

Definitely have a lot of inventory and the prices are rather high. If you go for firearms or anything related to them, you better already know exactly what you want, how it works, and where it is in the store because the staff knows almost nothing about what they sell. They are trained on the cash register and that’s about it...

Did business awhile back and wasn't happy about it. Went back about a month ago giving maures the benefit of the doubt of a 2and chance. Lesson learned I'll never go back a 3rd time for anything..Based off my personal experience I will take my $ else where and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone else to do the same.High prices, shotty work, and poor customer service.That being said I hope everyone moves onto a real business to buy their next firearm unlike this corner store.

Workers are very disrespectful and rude. The only reason I bought a gun here was because I had a down payment on another I wasn't able to afford in the long run. I spent $100 more dollars on a gun than it's normally priced anywhere else. When I noticed the gun was extremely overpriced I brought this up to the management and they acted entirely oblivious even after I showed them on the gun manufacturers website. And they just continued to get even more annoying through the purchasing process. Overall the this experience was absolutely terrible if you're going to buy a gun go somewhere else trust me. As for me I'll never go back to that garbage store again!

I really like Maurer's. It's an interesting place to look around, and I've dealt with buying and trading some items a few times. They've always treated me well. My daughter loves looking at all the taxidermy on the walls.

Very shady gun shop. Despite having a massive selection, the guns are insanely overpriced. I’ve never before in my life seen guns prices so much higher than MSRP. And these aren’t anything out of the ordinary, I’m taking SIG, Glock and S&W. Guns you can find at any gun shop on America. The only reason you would buy a gun here is if you actually enjoy wasting money. Please do yourself a favor and visit any other shop. Staff looked completely uninterested in helping and from hearing a few conversations did not seem to be very knowledgeable about the products they were selling. One of the men working behind the counter upstairs looked very uninviting. Downstairs wasn’t much either. Not really a big deal since it’s a rural store, but it’s nothing to go out of the way for. On a side not, this is the first place I’ve ever seen charge more for fishing rods ( just about everything really) than the field and stream store in cranberry near Pittsburgh. Overall I wouldn’t waste my time or money at this store. Can’t speak for the deli as I haven’t gotten anything from it. Lots of knives, so that’s cool. Not big into knives though so I wouldn’t know if the prices are fair and the brands are quality.

Went there today to get a Ruger 9mm takedown gun. Everyone was very nice, very helpful! I was in and out without a problem. I will be back to buy my guns here! Dealt with other places to buy guns and they act like they are doing YOU a favor! Great Customer Service!!! Love my new gun!!!

Well, they had what i needed ,but i had to send my son in to get it! I'm disabled and cannot walk up all the stairs to get to the gun and archery Department. He needs to figure something out to take care of his disabled patrons! Mr, Maurer is a really nice guy and i would live to give him more business but until he can accommodate people like myself. I cant give him more than 2 stars!!

This is a terribly managed local business. Customer service is pitiful and most items are overpriced. For an ancient business that refuses to conform to modern consumer demands, they amazingly accept credit cards but, do not expect to return an item for a refund. All you'll get is a gift certificate for store credit.Here's a quick story from a separate encounter with the inept staff. The owner lied to me about dog food. Of all things one could possibly lie about. Dog food. I would stop at Maurer's to pick up Taste of the Wild dog food occasionally. My last time in (it will literally be my last) I noticed they didn't have any TotW on the shelves and inquired with the Assistant Manager (owner's girlfried from what I understand) if they still stocked it. She had no idea and went to ask the owner. She came back and relayed to me that they no longer carry it because Taste of the Wild ceased distribution to the northern states. Interestingly enough, I can still purchase it at the local Tractor Supply.Shop here at your own risk. You've been warned.

A very nice store for the out door enthusiast. From clothing, to fishing , hunting , and animal/pet food. Upstairs is an archery, and gun and ammunition section. Lots of hunting equipment to choose from. Reloading supplies for shotgun and rifle. Scopes, range finders knives, ect. Currently having a broad selection of various ammunition available. Friendly yet knowledgeable, and honest sales people.Stop in and look around. Never know what might strike your fancy.

You can't get an employees to stop talking to each other long enough to even say "hi". And if you can manage to get someone to help you, you find out their prices are off the charts.I started shopping here over 20 years ago. Now? I will go out of my way to go somewhere else. Shame their service has gone so far down hill.
