I love animals and have had quite a few, I get my son's snake, rats from there and it's all good, if anything I enjoy looking at the various pets they have but the cages and floor dont look cleaned daily , I understand how messy pets can be but it's part of the responsibility . The hours frustrate me at times but once you get to know the owners it's a pleasant experience, very friendly and interesting! Always a cool experience, check out the tortoise in the window room!!!

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and readily answering any questions you may have. The store contains most everything one would need for their pets. They have an extensive aquarium layout with plenty of cold water and tropical fish. I've purchased fish there on a few occasions, having better luck with the quality more recently. I definitely will keep coming back. The drawback includes operating hours. There have been a few occasions the owner/workers have not shown at the advertised opening times. I wonder why small business pet stores are always crammed with supplies, too. It's not a deal breaker, but it's definitely an inconvenience. Overall, I recommend this business. Pet shops smell like pet shops. Why would that surprise people?

I have been going here for over a year now and I love going there. They answer all my questions. They help me in a reasonable time frame with in 2 or 3 minutes but as soon as you walk in the door they let you know they will be right with you. They are very friendly family ran business. I don't like going anywhere else for my animal supplies. I love this place they get a 4 from me keep up the wonderful work

Love the atmosphere in this little store and the employees really do their best to make sure each and every customer gets taken care of not just on a business level but also on a personal level. The woman who always assists me seems to always remember all of the details about my pet, worries that I had abouther diet or environment, her temperament, ect. And shes never even seen my pet and did not sell her to me. She genuinely cares about her work and I love that about her and this store!! I dont travel to any other pet store for anything

My cousin (fromPittsburgh) and I (from NJ) were visiting my sister in Ford City stopped in for some fish medication,What an impressive store this is. The help was above and beyond excellent. I recommend driving out of the way if you want knowledgeable help and healthy quality pets of just about anything you can imagine. Very very refreshing!!! Thank you.

absolutely love this place! always get treated amazingly this has been my go-to place for years and it will be for many more. owner and all the staff are very well educated! today i took my dog in, and i believe it was the owner i’m not 100% sure she asked me very nicely if my dog was okay with treats,i said yes and she gave her a treat,she loved it! then she showed me some more treats they had so i had to get my pups a bag! they were deff a hit! even our picky dog liked them and it’s rare finding a treat he likes. Oh and their prices are amazing may i add! I also recently got two gold barbs from there and they are doing excellent!

We have purchased a snake and a bunny from Oberst Pet Paradise. My son and I love our pets. They are healthy and doing great. The staff was super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. They are good about answering random questions when I call. I highly recommend them.

The absolute best! I would give 6 stars if I could. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. She helped me set up a filter system that finally keeps my yellow bellied slider's tank clean. I buy my frozen rats for my daughter's snake and they are always in good shape. I can't recommend this store enough.

I would never go back sold me a sick iguana took her to a guy that has been selling reptiles for many years his staff never seen anything like it. I was told I had her for 8 days that it was my fault. Was very upset that I gave her to the other reptile store to try and save her. He said I should have brought her back why so she would die they had no idea what they were doing in the first place. I now have a beautiful blue baby healthy as can be bought from Off the Hook in Ambridge pa. It's an amazing shop that knows what there doing with reptiles.

Not many places carry large bird food. They're very polite and courteous as well as very helpful. Pretty much always have any pet needs. Our cats, dogs, fish and birds are well taken care of with oberts.

I enjoy going there. They've got many different animals, supplies and foods for them. They've always been very helpful, caring and understand some of us just aren't experts and can lend their expertise to help. Plus, they're local! There aren't many animal stores around anymore.

Awesome place to shop! I always make sure I go there to purchase my bettas and other fish or snails. Love that the bettas are actually in large bowls and most in tanks, not just cramped in cups. You won't find the selection and quality of fish in a chain store.

I travelled almost 2 hrs to get there because I desperately needed fruitflies and they were the only store that had a producing culture.The girl I dealt with was so knowledgeable and I wound up leaving there with a ff media recipe but some isopods as well.If you have a vivarium and also happen to keep dart frogs, this place is great!!!I wasnt there to look at fuzzy animals or birds which they do have but the reptiles they have are all mostly living in established vivariums and they all look to be in excellent health.I really dont care what a pet store smells like as long as the creatures that live there are healthy and happy 😊

Melissa and her shop have been a great asset to our family, especially our ball python (who was actually purchased from her shop by her previous owners). Violet is a new type of pet for our family. We knew nothing of snakes and the care that they need. She has taught us so many wonderful things. We will not go anywhere else for our pet supplies!

Melissa (owner) is a great person! I go there for fish and if she doesn't have what I need, she can always order it in for me. And I haven't found anywhere that beats her prices on fish. Its great to have this store here!

The pet shop owner was very knowledgeable about our fish and helped save are cichlid from anchor worms. We also purchased a black moor from the shop, and she tested our tank water to give us information on the proper chemicals to use to control both ammonia and nitrates. Our fish have never been healthier would highly recommend!

I know pet shops are supposed to smell like pets but I don't think fish tanks or anything else has been cleaned for a really long time. I stopped in for small crickets and she gave me ones too big for my leopard gecko. Not stopping back anytime soon.

I don't know if they were the owners or employees, but whomever helped me purchase the parakeet and accessories I selected as a surprise for my daughter, they were very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the birds in their care, as well as endlessly patient with my probing questions about a sickly looking cockatiel that I obviously wasn't going to purchase. Very impressed and will be doing all my shopping for our new bird at Obersts in the future.

Like the convenience of the location. Employees are friendly. Prices seem to keep rising...Not enough dog and cat treat selections. They don't carry frozen mice for my snake so I still have to travel and it would be nice if they threw in a couple extra worms to replace the old ones they sell me that die in a day that I purchase for my gecko.

This place is to be under new management soon (as of 7-30-16).Perhaps the new owners will create a better environment in here.They do have a good amount of supplies for a non box store, although it seems like most of it has been on the shelf for a long time.

Love this pet store. Unique pet items, multiple species to choose from, and friendly service. They will give advice or help when needed. Cages are clean, animals are loved... my kind of animal lovers.

Since new ownership this place looks a lot better. It is organized and clean.They have a decent amount of items for a small shop. Prices are on the high side but that is to be expected. The workers are helpful and knowledgeable.
