Now they have a self service register when the employees stock shelves. Makes no sense. One employee stocking candy and line to self serv was long. Since I have to do your job can I get half your paycheck? Sometimes only one employee working. Crazy!!

I actually used to avoid this Dollar General the past year or so because the employees that had recently started to work there were rude and made me uncomfortable when I checked out (not just me as my friend also said she witnessed this as well when I told her). It actually made me start going to Emmitsburg Dollar General instead. I tried going again within the past few months and the two employees now (no sign of the other ones) were amazing! The gentleman, I don’t know his name, is very nice and when I checkout he engages in some polite conversation and is personable. The woman, I don’t know her name either, maybe Kathy I believe? Also very personable and actually helped me when I went to checkout by showing me to a better product on sale I didn’t even see before and was exactly what I’d wanted. I hope that this Dollar General has raised the pay and gives benefits now because these are the kind of sales clerks they need and these two definitely deserve it! They go above and beyond.

This Fairfield Dollar General seems to be the default go-to for general things needed since the gas station next door shut down. It used to be spotlessly clean inside. It's not absolutely horrible (like I've seen in other similar stores) but it seems something changed the past year or two. There used to be a very hard-working and helpful female that worked there, she was amazing, the manager perhaps. When she was working there, the place was spotless and everything seemed to be as it should. If she was still working there now, I doubt anyone would have anything negative to say about the store.

Both the associate and manager were very rude to me. I asked the associate to put their mask on when they checked me out and they rudely said their mask being on their chin was fine. The manager was no help and was also wearing their mask incorrectly. Dollar General requires masks in their store and yet their own associates refused to follow protocol in a global pandemic where it is mandated by the state to wear masks. These associates could literally be responsible for deaths in our community. They are rude, lack professionalism, and, most of all, lack simple compassion for their customers.

Convenient for when you run out of something (like diapers). Cashier that helped me was particularly friendly and I appreciated her being so nice

Not a very good dollar general. The cashiers are nice. The AM store manager Shannon is very rude and has unprofessional language at times. I have been going to this store forever. May be time to find another store. I know many people who do not come to this store just because of her. Dollar General needs to find a better store manager before I start going back there. Unreal!!!

If you have to go to the dollar general go to the one in 22 the one in town by the campus is very dirty and smelly and the people that work there stand right at the front door and smoke . That is very disrespectful for people that don't smoke . When we have to go to that one we can not take our youngest because the cigarette smoke makes her very sick . They should really be made to clean the store and not smoke at the front door . And there are always people having out in front of the store even the people that work there hang out with people out front and they all smoke. So would I recommend this store NO not unless you really need something and the other dollar general on 22 is closed

This place is always a mess. The only reason I stop here is because I need something quick and don't feel like driving 20 minutes to the next town. Some of the employees are friendly, and some not. There is an older lady with short gray hair who, more often than not, acts like it's a hassle to be there. I cringe when I walk in and see her there. I think I'm going to start going to the BRS Dollar General.

It's ya normal, small town, dollar general layout. But the staff are super helpful and generous! I have NEVER had a bad experience there! Always friendly and polite.

The Dollar General is a great place to pick up last minute items, bread, milk, sodas, snacks and other items. Staff is friendly and helpful!

Managers and staff at Fairfield, PA store refuse to wear masks or wear them by not covering the nose. When asked you are told "I am six feet away from you" Corporate policy is to wear masks at all times with few exceptions. Beware is you go to this location.

Place is in shambles. Boxes blocking isles, it honestly looks horrible. Floors are dirty, product not pulled forward. This is Everytime not just when truck is delivering.

Disappointed that only 1 of 3 staff were wearing face masks and I heard 1 tell a customer that they didn't need to wear one while in the store. I did find 2 of the 3 items which I needed.
