I had been looking for a new vehicle and was running out of time to find one and had limited funds. I test drove a Mountaineer from Bohn's Family Auto. I wanted to get it checked at a local garage and I don't live in the area. I drove from almost 3 hours away. I wasn't really sure where to go so I googled garages in the area. I found Hostetler's on google and called and asked about them checking out the vehicle and they said sure anytime. I was able to test drive it and took it right to the garage and they put it up on the lift and checked it all out and said it was good. The mechanic that checked it out for me was very nice. I asked him if he would be willing to take a ride in it with me for a few minutes to listen and hear and see it run. He went with me and recommended it highly. They took good care of me as far as looking it over and being super friendly and answering questions. They were super nice to my daughter in law and my granddaughter while I was out driving it around. When I was all done I asked what I owed them and they didn't even charge me anything super nice. I ended up getting the vehicle and I love it. So thank you very much for all you did it won't be forgotten!!!

After a wheel bearing gave up on the Penna turnpike, my family and I were lucky to be a mile away from Dan and his crew. They got the part and were able to turn me around in a couple of hours, taking time to make sure everything worked before I completed my 300mile drive. me and my fiancée are on our way from NY to WA and our van had been giving us some trouble. we came to this place and Dan was super helpful, fitting us in what was clearly a busy day and still not rushing the job. he fixed our van as quickly as he could and his pricing was fair. i’m not really well versed in car speak at all but his explanations for what he was doing were still easy to understand and follow and he didn’t do anything without informing us first. i highly recommend this place for anyone passing through PA who might need service on their vehicles.

We got a tow after an accident that totaled our car. The driver was very nice. He let us bring our dog in the tow truck and wait there until our ride came (from 2 hours away.) We were having a very bad day and they made it better. They coordinated with our insurance company and stored the car until it could be picked up with no hassle. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

We were on a cross country drive and developed an oil leak. We happened to meet Dan at a parts place where we were buying oil, and he diagnosed and fixed our leak right away. Very reasonable- highly recommend!Service: Engine repair

When both the oil and engine lights came on while we were on the turnpike, I thought our trip was over. We stopped here and got great service. A part for our older car needed to be shipped which caused an extended stay, but Dan was very good to us. I've been able to get same day service here! Very polite and courteous. Dan is also very good with my two young kids while we are there, talking to them directly and explaining what he's doing to our car! Waiting room is nice with a flat screen TV and the kids love the fish tank. Honest and reliable, he diagnosed my problem quickly and fixed it with no issues. Highly recommend!!

Outstanding shop -- I was passing through, don't know the area, and had a breakdown with my Jeep in the middle of the night. Gambled on the Google reviews, and had the vehicle towed here. Assumed I had a bad alternator, but Daniel diagnosed the vehicle instead as having a bad engine ground. He took the time to find out the real problem, and didn't just throw parts at it. He went the extra mile to ensure it was taken care of quickly, and at a very reasonable price, so I could be back on my way. Can't recommend them enough.

I had an issue with an accidental part breakage on my vehicle from a previous visit, I called them and mentioned it and I got a full apology and a discount on my tire mounting as a sign of good faith. They were fast and I will certainly stop by again for my next alignment, the mechanics do a great job with customer satisfaction and care, and will resolve any issues at any opportunity. Would definitely recommend!

We broke down on the turnpike on our way to a wedding and were lucky enough to have Dan be the tow driver out insurance assigned us. He went out of his way to drop us off at a car rental agency, and then was able to fix the car and even ran in to the shop on a Sunday to get us the car back when we were driving home. Great service, he saved our weekend!

This looks like other reviews as I decided to write this. I was leaving Altoona, Pa and my battery light came on. I figured it was the alternator and immediately found an Advanced Auto. They verified my diagnosis and I asked for a recommendation to get it fixed immediately. This was on a Thursday after 4PM and I had my family packed just starting a 12 hour drive back home to Ga. The commercial rep immediately called Dan and explained our situation. He was about to close, but told us he would get it taken care of for us. Very quick and thorough work and got us back on the road in less than an hour. Very friendly and professional. For a stressful situation, he turned this into a pleasant stop. Thank you so much!

I would recommend this shop to anyone. I had a brake line blow out going to a buddy's camp on a Friday evening. Since being couple hours from home I couldn't just have it towed and deal with it later. I took it here on a Saturday, and they fixed the brake lines eventhough it meant he would have to finish the work on a Sunday, when they were closed. That's a stand up shop that went the extra mile when he didn't have to. Also they do great work too. Thanks again I really appreciate you helping me out.

This guy is awesome!! He saved us on New Year’s Day. The alternator on our truck went out. He found the part and replaced it the same day. He also told me what was making the noise that I thought was the engine. It turned out it was a broken bolt on the exhaust manifold. I live in Indiana and I am seriously considering loading up another vehicle I am having problems with and driving the 300 miles to have him fix it.

I took a 2005 Rendevous to him needing spark plugs & wires. Knew this was needed and told him. However, was also having an overheating issue and told him this as well. Had an appointment and dropped it off early in the morning. When I called to see if it was ready, he said he did replace the plugs & wires but did not have time to check the overheating issue. This made me uneasy. I mean, wouldn't you check that first? Next day took the car to another mechanic to check the overheating issue. Took him 5 minutes to find the problem and basically, the entire coolant system needs replaced. As this vehicle is 13 yrs old and has over 200k miles, I never would have done the plugs & wires if I had known this. The other mechanic also showed me how it was easy to see the corrosion on hoses that he would have had to move to do the spark plugs. I feel like this was either complete incompetence or he flat out stole $300 from me knowing I wouldn't have done any work on the vehicle if I'd known it needed an entire cooling system. Neither is a good look.

i was having engine troubles in the afternoon/evening while passing through town on a road trip. mechanic/owner gave me his time to help diagnose the issue and figure out what was going on and set me up with an appointment repair the very next morning and then explained to me the problem and how he fixed it, very awesome shop and everyone there was super nice, and a great price too! six stars!

Daniel was a lifesaver today!!! My vehicals' alternator decided it didn't want to work anymore as we were driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Breezwood. He was not only able to pick us up with his tow truck but after explaining to him over the phone what my issue was he pretty much knew the culprit. With having that said, he picked up an alternator before the auto parts store closed as this was all occurring late on a Saturday. He towed my vehical along with us back to his shop where he made it OURS to hang out in and watch tv and play with his very friendly cat while he executed all necessary repairs. Daniel was an extremely nice and caring guy and not to mention very competent in his mechanical skills/abilities. In closing, I'd like to say if anyone out there ever finds them selves in a predicament such as myself yesterday evening with regard to being stranded on the side of the highway then I surely hope Mr. Dan is the one dispatched to your aid 👍🏻

While traveling on a Saturday from VA to Canada, our alternator went out. Thankfully, it happened near Everett, PA and Hostetler garage! We called the number and Daniel (the owner) immediately answered although they were actually supposed to be closed. We told him we were in a bind and runnin’ behind! 😁. He generously helped us out, found an alternator, went and picked it up and met us at his shop. What a great guy and go getter! If you want to go to an honest shop with hard working and knowledgeable people...this is your place!!

Looks n sounds alot like Jax Tellers garage, in Bloody Run, Pennsylvania...he also takes care of Winston Tree Service vehicles, Opie appreciates that...We recently visited and discovered Jax has expanded the shop and garage, with an awesome new building. Got a new set of tires at a great price, installed !( Abel prefers to work for Opies tree service , cause he likes climbing trees...but he's an up rising star mechanic just the same ! )10-8Stopped by to get battery in F-150 replaced- went to Foodliner for a couple donuts, and when we got back it was done ! Abel was not there today....
