We stopped, unloaded the kids from the car, got in line, waited for 5 minutes before we saw the sign 'cash only'. Didn't have enough cash on us, so back in the car we went and gave Debbie Lee's our business. Can't believe that in 2023, they don't take cards or mobile payments. I realize it is their right, but they are losing customers and sales.

If I could leave no stars I would. Ordered food from food truck (which great food kudos to Ash & Kris food truck), fiance and I wanted ice-cream after our food and saw a picnic bench with no one around, thinking it'd be a great place to eat and then get ice-cream. Older lady came out yelling at the both of us as she is smoking a cigarette and on her cell phone, telling us that we cannot sit or eat there since it's a place of business. Will not be attempting to get ice-cream from this place. Unprofessional and inconsiderate.

Boyfriend and I went here and they don’t accept card, so we went to the car to get cash and she slammed the door in my boyfriends face. Also no dogs allowed. Rude customer service. Candy store across street has ice cream with polite owners!

Bought food from a food truck walking distance from here. Went to sit down at the little picnic table for intension for getting ice cream afterwords on a nice Saturday afternoon. Lady came out smoking cigarette and on her cell phone, yelling at me and my fiancé stating that we cannot sit there, that this was a place of business. Very rude and ignorant.

Horrible experience. This place is dirty and dilapidated. No one else was around on a Tuesday afternoon. We are a family with a toddler and a dog. The parking lot is bordered by the sidewalk on two sides, and we were not planning on staying, yet the first thing we were rudely told was “ You can’t have that dog here!” Will never stop again.

Ice cream is just ok, but you are not allowed to try anything before buying. And although there is outdoor seating (and no one else was around) my dog was not at all welcome. I will not be returning.

Usually I give places the benefit of the doubt but I went twice and both times extremely disappointed. First time I got a hot fudge banana split. There was maybe a scoop and a half of vanilla ice cream and mostly whipped cream. For what I paid it was pitiful. Then today I go and get a handpack chocolate milkshake. It wasn't thick or anything. Paid $8 for ice cold chocolate milk and again pitiful.

This place is great! They got thee best ice cream around! And a huge selection, of varieties!! I been going here since I was a little boy after my baseball games, when I was six till now and im 40! The women who owns it is a sweetheart and she runs it by herself! The best ice cream, you can sit right there at a table outside and eat your ice cream!

I love this place! If you are like me and love real hard ice cream and think soft serve and frozen custard are gross then you want to come here. If you like soft serve they have it. But the real attraction is the many flavours of ice cream like apple pie and banana cream pie among others. The service is competant and brisk. I also like the fact that they strongly discourage people from seating children on the outside tables. A big WIN in my view. They have bench seating so there is no reason to seat your children on the table. Unless of course your just a disgusting person who likes to leave leaky diaper remains on the tables so no one else can sit there.

Decent Ice cream, however the lady waiting on us was rude not to mention all the Do-Not do signs everywhere. No dogs or pets allowed so if you're like me and enjoy taking your dog with you, it might be best to pick another ice cream place

Had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Lou when I went for the first time last week and met his wife Dee yesterday when I went for seconds. I love not only their amazing ice cream but the variety of flavors and the antique feeling of the place. You order in one window then pick up in the other. There are some picnic tables next to it but if it’s too busy then you’re better off eating it in your vehicle like I did. When you go please be patient it takes some time to receive your order, but understandably so as they are in their golden years. Almost forgot, CASH only. Can’t wait to go back! 😋

This is a staple in Evans City. The ice cream is amazing. I have seen some say the owners are not very nice and I will admit when I first moved here and went there I started to believe it, but now I realize that's not the case and they are a lovely couple who work very hard to keep their store going. I give them many props for sticking to it and keep on opening each spring when the economy is undesirable for most mom and pop shops. Like previous reviewer said, be understanding. Keep shopping local and keep awesome places like this going!

My husband and I just moved into the area and were excited to try Zimmerman's Ice Cream tonight after dinner. The ice cream is good, but their customer service is awful. The woman who took our order was very short with us, and when she was handing me my cone it was dropped on the counter in the transfer. It happens, that didn't upset us. But she shut the window really quickly, and when I asked about getting it replaced, she opened the window back up, said "give me that" and very aggressively swiped it out of my hand, clearly annoyed. She got me another, thankfully. I made a comment to her that she is being rude, and she just said "well I have other customers waiting." 2 other people had just arrived, so it was no big line. I wish she had taken care of us as eagerly as she seemed to get to the next people. I was hoping for a friendly small town ice cream shop, but it was not an enjoyable experience. This could have all been handled much better without issue. I'd sooner drive to Debbie Lee, King Kones, Bruster's, or Dairy Queen in the future. I felt that us being customers was really a burden to them and we were treated very poorly. I'll go somewhere else to look for a smile.

Great footlong hot dog and ice cream. Hot dogs are made to order, so they take about 10 minutes, but they're fried and the buns are toasted. We enjoyed the time to relax, but some may not be so patient. We stopped on our way back from Lake Arthur, and felt like we went back in time!

Good ice cream but they're dog nazis. Most ice cream places allow you to bring your dog. Hell, brusters even gives your dog free ice cream. Not this place. Even tho it's an outdoor shop, they will not allow you to stand at their window with your dog. So if you stop here while walking Fido, you'll be asked to leave. Yes they will forfeit business just cause you brought your pup.Edit: There are now signs all around this place written in sharpie. From no pets to "sit at tables not on" VERY unprofessional. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I'm very offended by the "no pets state law" signs. I feel like they single out pet owners by doing this. If there was another ice cream shop in Evans City, this place would go out of business FAST. Especially if the place advertised its self as pet friendly like brusters

We couldn't even get ice cream bc our kids couldn't handle to incredibly slow service? They served two people in 20 minutes? Not sure how it could take someone that long to scoop ice cream? Maybe just a bad night but not sure we will go again unless our kids aren't with us

Milk shake was a cup of milk, when we tried to tell the older woman, she practicality scolded us and threw it away. No offer to fix the issue and it was a $5 milkshake
