The staff are very friendly and caring. They really listen to you when you talk. Had to walk my mom's cat to the Rainbow Bridge after she passed, and they made me feel at peace about it. The prints they mailed to me afterward were beautifully done. Dr. Amanda is one of the best in our area. She truly cares about animals and strives to help them at all costs.

Had a horrible experience here. Our 2 huskies, male and female went here for 7 years. Our female husky had a tick on her and was tested for Lyme and turned out to be Lyme positive, which the vet said was nothing to worry about. Months later she began having seizures and they said we just have to help her through them and there’s nothing that can be done for her. These started in May of 2023. Fast forward to August our male husky had gotten what we thought was a hotspot and the vet said it was allergies and sent him home with some medication. The spots spread all over and he lost a ton of fur and his skin was red and clearly itchy. Then our female began experiencing the same “allergies” even though neither of them have never had allergies before. Took him back multiple times and still they claimed it was allergies. Started doing our own research and all the symptoms matched those of sarcoptic mange, which we brought up to the vet and he dismissed it. He wouldn’t take the 5 minutes to do a skin scraping and look under the microscope. Finally after taking our dog back for the final time he did the skin scraping and sure enough it was mange (mites). This all happened over the course of 3 months. If the vet had listened to our concerns he could have saved us over $1000 and spared our dogs from this uncomfortable feeling. At this point our male husky had no fur at all on his belly, we could see the skin on his tail and almost see right through his ears. He had a beautiful coat before all of this, his poor skin was so raw. Our female experienced it as well but it was not as severe. December comes along and we decided to switch vets because of this. Our female is looking extra skinny so we take her to a different vet and her white blood cell count is elevated and she has a mass on her liver (which is what they thought). We took her elsewhere to get an MRI and it ended up that her liver was so inflamed and she was bleeding internally. We had to put her down the next day, at 7 years old. Our new vet said that the seizures and the liver failure were likely due to her being Lyme positive, which wintergreen never took into account when we brought her in for seizures. After she was deemed Lyme positive, they basically told us it meant nothing and they never checked up on her. This all happened in one year. So take your dogs somewhere else if you can. I wish that I was exaggerating this, and it is absolutely unacceptable the way that they handled these situations. I only have one photo that I’ve attached but you can see how his tail had barely any fur on it and his legs as well.

I brought my 3 five month old kittens in to Wintergreen this week for their vaccines and a check up. This was my first visit and from the cheery, clean reception area to the expertise of Megan and Dr Amanda - I was very impressed with the entire experience. Every staff member had a smile on their face. All the kittens were handled with loving care! First impressions mean a lot - and they certainly provided a great first impression! Thank you!

The vet tech that Lilly, our rescue dog had was very pleasant and efficient. He noted questions to discuss with the Dr and followed up to be sure everything was answered. Dr Amanda is gentle and caring. Our rescue is timid and Dr Amanda did not rush us through the appointment. I have been pleased with the staff and Drs at Wintergreen Animal Hospital for the last 36 years

Always the best care to cats and dogs. Kind and loving to the animals and owners. We have been with them thru several pets. Smart and up to date on care. Our cats have been 16, 18 and 20 years old under their guidance. Our dog was 16. We have been together for 30 years now, wow, and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

As a lifelong pet owner I have learned to be discerning with where I choose to get my four-legged friends their necessary care. When my 8 week-old Rottweiler pup stopped eating and became rapidly and severely dehydrated I called all the vet shops in the area but due to the COVID crisis they were all booked up for a few days, days that my pup did not have. Wintergreen immediately heard what was going on and had my pup in within the half-hour and by the end of the day we had a reasonable grasp on the rare situation that she was in. Dr. Jones (their chief of staff) is by far the most caring vet I have ever encountered and went above and beyond to find the resources we needed at vet hospitals in nearby major cities. Destiny and the rest of their support staff have also been more helpful than i could imagine and we owe the life of our pup to them!Bring your furry friend here if you don't want to endure the constant stream of life-insurance or healthplan pitches that all the vets offices are turning into or if you want people who actually put the pet first.

They are great. My parents took our pets there, and once I grew up, I took my pets there. Moved away and came back and love that we can continue to take our pets there. My fur babies love the staff there, too.

We take our animals here. Our one cat has had some health/mobility problems in the past, and the staff here has been very good with him and helped him get back to a good quality of life. He absolutely HATES going to the vet, and Wintergreen does everything they can to make him comfortable every time he does.Thank you!

Wonderful vet. I recently took on the responsibility of a sweet cat that was abandoned at a house someone in my family purchased. I was so worried about her health due to the conditions she was living in and lack of food. Wintergreen squeezed me in the day I called. I'm happy to say she is recovering well.

Dr. Amanda Jones and her staff (especially Jennifer who took my initial call) were wonderful! Franklin, our 10 year old, part Bengal cat, was stricken in the evening recently with something causing him considerable pain and limited mobility. It was clear from his periodic crying out that it was serious and we needed to take him to see a vet as soon as possible. We live in Mayville, NY (by Lake Chautauqua). However, the weather (snowing and high wind) made thinking of driving him to either Buffalo or Erie for emergency care out of the question. My wife comforted him through the night the best she could, and in the morning I got on the phone to locate a vet. Our regular vet near Jamestown couldn't see him. "Sorry, on vacation for three weeks," (probably in Florida). The vet in Westfield who had seen him when he was a year old and was mauled (we think by a groundhog) and suffered serious pelvic injury, couldn't see him for a day or two. These are the two closest, and both vets had seen him in the past, but for an emergency? I guess not. Then I started calling every vet (more than 20) in a radius of 50 miles, including every vet in Erie. By now it was getting to be early afternoon, none offered any help other than a few suggested the night emergency service in Erie or Buffalo. I was about to give up and wait for the Erie night emergency service and probably a long wait once I got there. The very last call (I was going systematically in a counter-clockwise search of the Erie/Northeast/Edinboro area) that I could make before running out of vets to call, was Wintergreen. By now I guess I sounded both fairly stressed and well resigned to what I was sure would be yet another no-go. But no! I got Jen on the line, explained what was going on, and she said "Wait a moment please." She was back almost immediately, and said "how long will it take you to get here." It was 2 pm. I said "in an hour." She said, "well come on, the vet can see you." I got there at exactly 3 pm. Julie was assisting Dr. Jones. Dr. Jones assured me that even if we went beyond closing time, she would stay to do what had to be done. Both were extremely kind, showing more genuine kindness than I've ever experienced at a vets. It turned out that Franklin seemed to have developed a blood clot in the bowel area, along with cardiac problems that even with surgery, he probably would have not made it. My wife had said before I left, that euthanasia might be the outcome. She was right (almost always is...), and Dr. Jones and Julie administered the lethal drugs with compassion.I can't thank Wintergreen enough for the compassion (and competence) they showed with Franklin, but also with me. From now on, I hope to make Wintergreen our new, and regular vet (the drive will be more than worth it!). Oh, and we also got a touching sympathy card from the staff at Wintergreen yesterday. I'm beginning to think that "above and beyond" might just be the normal there.

Beautiful, clean and so quiet. Nicest lobby I have been in. All of the amazing photos of the animals were so inviting. Staff are amazing. Happy to have found such a great place to take my fur babies.

We just adopted a kitten a week ago, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. We had a million questions, as we have never had cats. We spent a lot of time over the course of 2 days playing with the 6 kittens they had, trying to make a decision. We never felt rushed, even at closing time. We also observed staff with numerous other customers coming and going, and didn't witness one negative interaction...we will definitely be switching from our old vet office!

They do an awesome job taking care of my fur baby. My fur baby is a blind dog who has a lot of trust issues but they work well with him and love him. Tippy enjoys his car ride to see his friends at Wintergreen Animal Hospital. Thanks for cutting my fur baby's meds for him. Thank you all for what you do.

Important note: please be kind to your veterinarian. They have an extremely tough job (statistically one of the very toughest) and tend to get treated very badly. Why I kept them after the first time I tried them:- They talk to me like a normal person, a peer. They don't talk down to me or slow their speech, but they make sure I got the information and give lots of opportunity to ask questions without making me feel stupid.- They keep me up to date with their gameplan, and run it by me before they do ANYTHING, making me feel like I'm in charge and truly part of the team. Why I'm extra impressed with them and will recommend them to anyone:- Their prices are reasonable and more than fair. Vets get paid very little, but I also can't afford much. They don't push it when I have to opt for less expensive medications.- They're professionals. They clearly do the best they can with what information they have. They clearly show compassion and care about their work and patients.- They go above and beyond. When my cat had an unexpected adverse reaction to one of the medications, Dr. Amanda Jones took the time to go back and review every bit of fine print on the medication, call the pharmaceutical company, and get exact details on the exact research done that got exactly what symptoms listed as side effects to try to pinpoint exactly what was up with my cat. The pharmaceutical company paid for him to get tested for practically everything under the sun - that wouldn't have come through if she hadn't put in that extra effort. The side effects wore off, and my cat is fine now, by the way.Above and beyond. 10/10 Would recommend.

Our family recently adopted a dog from a local shelter. We had been without a family dog for many years for various reasons, so a bit nervous and probably over cautious with our new family member ("Hooch"). Dr. John and all of the staff at Wintergreen Animal Hospital have been wonderful to work with as we get back in the swing of things as dog owners. Very patient (with us mainly), and extremely knowledgeable. We highly recommend them.

The staff at Wintergreen were nothing short of amazing. We had an unfortunate situation with our dog and wanted a second opinion. It turned out to be something completely different than we suspected & as our baby rapidly declined, we made the tough decision to put him to rest.Dr. Carrie was so thorough with her exams & tests and was as compassionate as could be. Because of our experience with everyone there, we’ve decided to have our other two dogs become patients there.

Wintergreen is an amazing place! I was introduced to Dr. Amanda when I adopted a special needs kitty from orphan angels. the staff is always eager and happy to help. they provide me with the confidence I need to care for my cat. my cat is completely paralyzed and requires special care and thinking outside of the box. any time I call, they always provide me with answers or get me into an appointment right away. the love and passion they have for animals truly shows In everything they do. my kitty violet and I are so happy to have meet such a wonderful team of compassionate people to provide alternative care for a good quality of life. because of them, I met my kitty and am forever grateful.

I take both of my new dogs here and I believe they truly care about your animals as if they were thier own. I had multiple questions after my dog was spayed. They took the time over the weekend/closed hours to address my concerns without a second of hesitation. The last local vet hospital I took my older, now passed, dog to wasn't personable. He was terrified to go in and I felt like I was shuffled in and out in a hurry. Wintergreen makes you feel welcome and always happy to see your furry loved ones. Both of my dogs are always happy going in and coming out of the vet!

Dr. Lutz is SPECTACULAR! The entire staff is top notch! Thank you Doug for being so comforting! Our 7 month old puppy was sick, I called and they saw us the same day! I had never been here before. We are now transferring all of our records to Wintergreen!!! Absolutely the BEST!
