Small store packed to the gills. Relaxed and friendly staff. A dog-grooming service is in the back; an appointment is necessary. I have been very pleased with how my dog looks when he is done. I have bought things for both my cats and my dog. Prices are reasonable. Always something on clearance, so it is wise to check. I got my dog a heavy ceramic food bowl for half price, $6.00 down from $12.00. It would have been okay for $12.00. Cat litter was also reasonable at $30.00 for 42 lbs. I get what I think is the best stuff, Ever Clean, clumps well and no odor if cleaned right. I get extra strength, no fragrance.

We take our golden doodle Bear here to be groomed by Desire. She does an absolutely wonderful job and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. We have been going to her for two years now and have always been extremely happy with the job she does on our dog. He always looks so handsome when we pick him up :) She is professional, caring, friendly and you can tell she loves what she does!! I recommend Desire to anyone looking for a groomer!

The staff is always nice and a few of them know us by our dog. Pick up supplies, give your pup a bath or have him groomed on site. It's not a large store but they have a lot for their size.

I have only been in this store once, but was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was inside. It's a lot bigger and nicer than it looks driving by. They have a rescue kitty for adoption and betta fish. Very cute.

❤️❤️Best Groomer Hands Down!❤️❤️I appreciate the time and honesty that comes from the Groomer- Desiree Adams. I started to go to Grooming Tails right when they opened at Pet Valu. My puppy at the time was very scared and unsure seeing he had never been groomed before. Desiree took time to get to know Joey and left me stay as she groomed him the first couple of times. She listens to what you have to say and answers any questions you may have regarding the breed of dog and how you’d like him/her cut. He comes back so soft and fluffy and smelling so fresh. ( I need to disagree with the previous review from Betty Lou ) because Desiree would never leave a dog leave bloody and hurt without letting the owner know if anything happened within her care. This is a Wonderful and Caring Place to take your dog to get pampered. I will keep going to Desiree. Because my Sweet Joey deserves the BEST!

They have beautifully appointed stores; the selection is very appealing. I go there for Finch seed. But the stores are very "dark", track lighting does nothing but give glare off packaging. For an older person even with corrective lenses one actually NEEDS assistance to find what they are looking for. They WILL help you but I don't think they realize how darkly nonlit their stores are!

I have been taking my shichon to Desiree for 2 yrs. I book a year out every 4 weeks. She does an amazing job, when we pick her up she looks like a show dog! Rosie is always excited to see her which makes me happy. I know she is happy and safe with Desiree.

I love this Pet Valu. The staff all know us and our pets, it's like walking in to visit your friends. This store is always clean, has plenty of folks ready to help, and is staffed by people who love animals and love what they do.

The stores are very nice. We went to bathe our dogs, and they have all the shampoo, conditioner, and stuff for you there. I recommend this place if you want to find a place to conveniently wash your pets.

We take our dogs to Desiree for any and all grooming services. We had a 5 year old German shepherd with severe skin allergies and anxiety. She was absolabsolutely petrified of anyone touching her rear or paws and would respond aggressively. Whenever we went to places like pet smart they would never let us stay with our pup to help her reduce anxiety so we stopped and started going to grooming tails. Desiree let us stay with our dog, got on the ground to calm her and spent as much time as needed to keep our pup comfortable. I could call with questions any time and always get recommendations on products that would keep our dog comfortable when her allergies flared.Our dog unfortunately passed unexpectedly from a heart condition, and the staff at pet valu, and specifically Desiree, remembered our family and gave condolences for the loss of our dog. We have a new puppy, and once again, Desiree and all the other staff members, spend time playing with her and letting her explore, take time to get comfortable and get to know her. They are extremely professional and truly care about the animals they care for. I highly recommend coming here for all your pet grooming and all other needs.

Take my Pit every other week for goodies. All I have to say is "pet store" and she knows the drill. 11/10, will continue to bring my doggo again.She loves the treats cabinet they have. Her absolute favorite.

Called about nail cutting and was told about the nail clinic. Showed up with our 2 pet dogs and unfortunately the clerk that took my call did not inform us that we needed paper copy of rabies. Please think to inform your clients. Not all dog groomers do this. You lost us as customers.

Sad, sad, sad that PetValu is closing. Another Covid casualty. What great selections of cat🐱 and dog🐶 foods, dog and cat toys, and any kind if pet-related item you could think of! Grooming, too. Cassandra is a cat whisperer! 🐺 Hope, hope, hope this pet emporium gets bought by another entity and will be staying open. The sales staff are wonderfully friendly and always helpful. Here's hoping...

We have a dog with a very sensitive stomach who can only eat a certain kind of food. We were traveling from Florida up to Pennslyvania and called around to find food for our pup while we were on vacation, out of all the stores around here Pet Valu in ephrata would special order our food for our pup!!! We were so grateful they had our pups food ready to go when we came to pick it up! Thank you so much pet Valu of ephrata!
