I took my 2 year old cat, Nacho, into see Dr. Jones on Feb 7th, 2024 for a routine vet visit. We ran some labwork because he had lost some weight. The results came back that he was anemic and in chronic kidney disease. Not knowing of anything he could have gotten into, or what caused his levels to be there, we started antibiotics and a phosphorus binder. A couple days later, Nacho went in for an abdominal ultrasound with Dr. Anleu to look for any causes. His internal organs looked normal, but he continued to lose red blood cells. We later did a kidney aspirate with Dr. Maro, who recommended NAET, vitalights, and sanawave, and herbs. Even though he wouldn't take the herbs, we continued all other treatments. Dr. Jones started him on Varenzin-CA1 when the Hemoticrit was low and he was not regenerating RBCs. With the help and continued care of all the doctors, Nacho is improving slowly, but physically is well at home.

My Hannah boo loves going to the vet. Her favorite person is Dr Jones. She actually gets excited to get to see the whole staff. I have been going to them from when they first came to Ellwood and the only vets who would take on my 165 pound German shepherd wolf mix. This is a great bunch of people who care about what they are doing and patient with all the questions I have. My furbabies are very important to me and they are very kind to them and me.

Dr Maro is an outstanding Veterinarian. She is knowledgeable about traditional and non-traditional care and treatments and because of this, offers more options and choices when it comes to choosing treatments for animals. My dog is fear reactive and very nervous, however he feels safe and secure with Dr Maro and her staff. He loves going to the vet and this means as much to me as the care he receives while he is there. I often tease that he looks like he has been to the "puppy spa" after his doctors appointments! I also appreciate that she and her staff have always listened and are attentive to my concerns, taking my observations seriously and working with me to give my dog his best life. I recommend Dr Maro and her clinics to every animal lover I know. I'm very grateful that she is my dog's vet and I'm very grateful to know that he is in such good hands.

Been going to Chippewa and Ellwood for 7 years and 7 dogs. They have taken exceptional care of all our fur babies and helped us through many emergencies, health issues and heartaches. Thank you to the hard working staff and Veterinarians.

Dr. Anlu is VERY, VERY, good, and the staff is very friendly and nice. (I liked it better when you could be present during the exam, but I'm sure this takes more time.)They are very thorough, but that usually entails extensive testing, that maybe is not always necessary, and is extremely expensive, hence 4 stars instead of 5.

One of our sweet little rescues has had a very bad couple days. She was very sick and needed special care. After an ER visit to PVSEC she was out on meds but needed further immediate care as she had Pyrometra surgery was solution. I took her to Ellwood City Animal Hospital and what I thought was a consolation visit quickly turned into an emergency surgery. Overwhelmed with worry and concern the vets and staff here were so incredibly kind and patient. They took care of my baby with compassion and kindness. They also took my financial concerns into thought as they helped her. She had to make an additional trip for fluids and nausea meds the next day and we were met with the same kindness and compassion. Our animals are our children and we are very picky about who cares for them. Ellwood City Animal Hospital has earned my respect and this is where my fur kids will go from now on! Thank you and God bless all that work at Ellwood City Animal Hospital….you are more than a vet hospital you are angels!

I highly recommend. We came in from Ohio, we have a special needs guinea pig, the front desk, the technicians and the doctor made us feel like family. They took the time to listen to us and check our little guy out. We look forward to coming back. The office and patient rooms and environment were clean too.

My cat, Jasper was given a cancer diagnosis (hemangiosarcoma) that has an average lifespan of 74 days following diagnosis. We are 9 months in and Jasper is thriving and I am optimistic about the future. Dr Maro and her staff have been beyond supportive and have made this emotional draining process easier. There is no denying that this treatment is expensive but I am absolutely thankful I found them.

There’s nobody I trust more with my dog than Dr. Maro. Her knowledge and skill far surpass other vets. I believe she saved my dog’s life, and she has worked tirelessly since then to make sure my dog reaches her full potential. No one is more hard working or more dedicated to helping pets and their owners than Dr. Maro!

I visited this office for an establishment of care for my dog on 8/24/20. This office does not take Covid seriously, displayed no concern when I brought up the issue, and lacked the basic customer service of introducing oneself before caring for my pet.I am a healthcare worker who understands the severity of the Covid epidemic, and wear my mask consistently in public places, respecting the state guidelines. They request that pet owners wear a mask, but their own receptionists either constantly touch their masks (then proceed to touch everything else around them), or one does not even wear a mask, or a face shield (I was told she had a medical reason to not wear a mask--face shields are for medical exemptions). When I asked the person who completed my dog's intake form about it (had to ask her what her name was because she did not introduce herself), she said that, "They take their masks down while on the phone because people cannot hear on the other line." I work in an operating room, and I haven't had that trouble. Quick fix--Speak up while on the phone. For my interaction with the vet (Anleu), she did not introduce herself before caring for my dog, so I had to accept that a stranger was caring for my pet. When she did eventually introduce herself, I spoke to her about the receptionist, and she just told me about the medical excuse... No concern whatsoever for the health of the pet owners, or her coworkers. As a healthcare professional, I expected her to care more about the transmission of disease.Lastly, they did not have one visible hand sanitizer pump in the lobby. They had random spray bottles, which seemed unmarked. If they cannot provide their own lobby with hand sanitizer, or their receptionist, who has medical exemption, with a face shield, what other corners are they cutting with caring for my pet?For an initial visit, I was appalled by the lack of concern over the Covid pandemic, and lack of customer service (no staff introductions), and lack of concern over a legitimate complaint of their subpar practices. I told the vet because of these issues, I am taking my pet elsewhere in the future.

Dr Maro has been the best vet that I have ever encountered and I highly recommend visiting her. Whenever I schedule appointments, I'm willing to make the drive to whichever office she is working out of that day (she works out of three offices) because she is just that phenomenal. She's always willing to work around my finances and she's determined to truly help my cats out any way she possibly can. She also takes the time to sit and explain exactly what is going on every time. You can just tell that she truly cares. I will continue to visit her and I highly recommend her to everyone I know.

Everyone at Ellwood Animal Hospital was so helpful and friendly! They took the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and they also took great care of the stray cat I brought in. With their help, I was able to get him the care he needed. Now he’s feline fantastic! :) Thank you for all of your hard work, especially during the pandemic!

I have trusted Dr. Maro and all the staff for the care of all my pets for many years. I cannot say enough about how awesome the care is and even if your pet has something that is difficult to figure out, they will not stop until you have an answer. The compassion and care are outstanding. I have brought many dogs, cats, and even ferrets here for treatment - and I will continue to come here as long as I have pets, which will be as long as I live. Thank you Dr. Maro and staff for all the years you have given me with happy, healthy pets!

This vet is awesome. I always get an appointment for routine care right away and the staff is so friendly. Dr. Jones is the best. He takes time to carefully explain everything and really cares about his furry patients. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for good pet care and quality service.

Don’t go here. Just don’t. I was told not to by many people, and had to go out of necessity. I regret it 100%. Decided to go elsewhere and have tried to cancel my follow up appointment multiple times and I’m still getting texts and calls asking to confirm the appointment. DO NOT GO HERE.A side note; it shouldn’t matter whether I “know somebody in the field” or not when requesting information on whatever was done regarding my pets health. You shouldn’t be gate keeping that information from clients whether they have any background knowledge or not, and it makes you seem incredibly shady.

This was my dogs first appointment with Ellwood Animal Hospital. The staff was very friendly and answered any questions that I had. They went out of their way to make certain all the questions I had were answered. The facility was very clean and pristine! They offered lots of suggestions to get my dog to eat his food. I will definitely be coming back!

My poodle mix was attacked by a neighborhood dog. My usual vet is 45 minutes away and there was no way he would have survived the car ride there. I called the Ellwood Animal Hospital in a panic and within minutes my dog was being treated. My dog survived his vicious attack; I am 100% certain it was only because of Dr. Maro and her wonderful vetinary staff. I don’t even have the words to say how appreciative and grateful I am.I was also never given false hope; Dr. Maro explained the extent of his injuries and the majority of the time they are fatal. It was my choice to do anything and everything necessary to help save his life. I was also given quotes so I would be made aware of the financial obligation whether or not he survived. For all of the medical attention he received, the total cost was not exorbitant. I Absolutely feel it was appropriate for the services he was provided. I cannot reiterate enough how thankful I am for all the Ellwood Animal Hospital did for my dog. Truly a miracle!

Dr. Maro and staff have been providing great care for my pets for the last 3 years. They have always provided hope where other veterinarians could not. After a tireless effort for years to get my golden retriever to lose weight, she lost 27 pounds in a little over a year with Dr. Maro's expertise. My cat Snowflake, who has struggled with irritable bowel disease for 7 years, is now thriving at the age of 13, thanks to NAET treatments he receives monthly. I am very thankful to everyone there for providing me with many more years with my babies!

Happened a few years ago, but these people are heartless. After my dog was diagnosed with bone cancer we took him here. After an agreed upon price for surgery, it was raised by $1,000 on the day of. He was sent home immediately after having his leg amputated, and only survived several hours. Upon telling them the next morning, we were still charged for the leg to be examined to determine what type of cancer it was. They didn't even care about my dog and managed to somehow send us coupons for him to be brought in for other services they offer. These people are butchers, don't trust your pets here for anything serious.

This was our dog Theo’s first visit and we were not sure what to expect as new dog owners. What we received was exceptional caring service from the time we scheduled the appointment, to the pickup curbside of Theo and then the thoroughness of the vet to answer all of our questions. We know that Theo will be in great hands for years to come.

We all may have experienced that frightening feeling when our dog is not well, a bump has appeared, or even showing signs of a UTI and where to go for help.We are very fortunate that we have Dr. Maro, a skilled, professional, holistic pet care veterinarian, as our Golden Retriever’s doctor.Dr. Maro listens carefully and asks many questions before deciding on a path of treatment, for my Luca, a 4 year old Golden Retriever, which have included acupuncture and holistic medicine.I along with so many others, appreciate her honest appraisals and evaluations on our pets’ health. We believe Dr. Maro’s ability to mix traditional vet care with holistic and acupuncture is a wonderful.Nothing is more gratifying or heartening than seeing my Golden Retriever’s health improve, energy return, and playful activities resume.

So far we've had a very positive experience! For the firs time, I feel like we've found a vet who truly wants to investigate the underlying issues. The team listens carefully to all the different symptoms and seems to really care about my beloved furbaby.

We had a lab who was bleeding from her nose. She sneezed a lot and blood would be everywhere. We took her to Dr. Maro, and she discovered that our dog had tumors in her nose. She said surgery would be very expensive and the tumors could always return. We had 4 young children and really couldn't afford thousands of dollars for surgery on our beloved pet. Dr. Maro suggested we try various herbal remedies and supplements. I was skeptical but desperate to try anything that might help. Within 3 months of starting the supplements, the bleeding had completely stopped and our five year old lab had regained her pep! Eight months later, Dr. Maro put a scope in the dog's nose and there was no sign of tumors! Our dog lived six more healthy years. When the time came to have her put down, Dr. Maro and her staff were compassionate and even sent us a sympathy card. We trust Dr. Maro and appreciate her expertise, compassion and knowledge of pets!
